CACAWA: its wrong.
Two wrongs can never make a right.
If she retaliates and he harms her, would he be happy?
The reasonable thing to do is report to the authorities, or anyone who can wade in. Perfect excuse of abusers. Why initiate "one" wrong if "two" wrongs never make a right. |

Get enlightened, the ascension to Bini Obaship cannot be influenced by anyone including your president. That must be an irony, because an enlightened person should know that it is government's recognition that makes one an oba not some prehistoric principles. |

WiseBully: They will never respond to this. That man ended up miserably and tragically. The question is "can the oba be dethroned , not what happens afterward. Any body can fall sick, there is nothing special about it. The british did it, Oyalegbulem did it, yet you are still claiming invincibility for the oba. |
Culture › Re: Oshiomhole Can Never Appoint The Oba Of Benin, Edo Youths Scream Out!!! by neocortex: 11:07am On May 25, 2016 |
dukie25: Nothing would happen if Oshiomhole fails to recognize the new Oba. If Oshiomhole refused to recognized the new Oba good but he can't make any other person Oba as long as the first son is alive. You can't have another Oba when the Oba is alive, the son can only ascend the throne at the demise of his father.
Only Benin chiefs can stop the enthronement of Prince Eheneden from being made the Oba of Benin. The sultan of Sokoto was dethroned for disagreeing with government, that can't happen in Edo state.
Lastly, the power of the Oba is not what is in dispute here but appointment. If Oshiomole fails to recognize the oba that means Benin have no oba and oshiomole can nominate anybody he deemed fit, he has legal backing. To the bold, It has happened before(ovoramen) and it can still happen again. |

dukie25: You're looking at this issue from the perspective of Oni or Emir. The British may have dethroned an Oba but the next in line takes over. As long as the position is hereditary, no government can impose an Oba, we're not talking of the Oni or the Emir of Kano. The position is hereditary and all other "kings" in Edo are dukes under the Oba of Bini. All the Enijies or kings in Esan and the rest of Edo are subservient dukes under bini monarchy, no power can dethrone the oba. And you just contradicted yourself, in this current dispensation the oba has no real power, apart from the oba appointed chiefs, there are no positons subservient to the oba. It is important you separate history from current happenings. What do you think will happen if the government fails to approve the oba's appointment ? |
Culture › Re: Oshiomhole Can Never Appoint The Oba Of Benin, Edo Youths Scream Out!!! by neocortex: 9:42am On May 25, 2016 |
dukie25: The most useless quote of the day. If you know very little about Edo history it would helpd to just shut your mouth. The Obaship in Edo is hereditary, the first son automatically becomes the Oba. For example the emir of Kano is chosen out of many, same goes for the Oni. It is different in Bini Kingdom, no governor or president can name someone the oba of bini bypassing the first son, it can never stand, he won't be recognized. By whom if I a may ask ? The british deposed ovoramen and nothing happened. The constitution is clear on this issue as the governor's power supersedes any of the kings in his state it is time you wake up to reality. |
Culture › Re: Oshiomhole Can Never Appoint The Oba Of Benin, Edo Youths Scream Out!!! by neocortex: 9:38am On May 25, 2016 |
ogmask: It is a misnormal, not in Benin. In Benin the king is born. The crown Prince is an Oba in waiting with or without govt staff of office. You can only talk of appointment when the throne is not hereditary. If you read that portion the ARABIAN quoted, you will discover that govt do not appoint traditional rulers, they only recognise. The making of an Oba in Benin is an age long tradition that even politics cannot alter. Some went to school but they lack basic comprehension, of which if not well managed can lead to chaos. How much tax do you pay to your king pr do you think maintenance of palace affairs is done by the gods ? It is the government who takes care of all the palace expenses. The last real oba of benin was ovoramen who was forced into exile by the british, all the oba after that were appointed by the british or the Nigerian government, so it is time Edo youth wake up to reality and accept that the oba throne is subjected to the government's regulation. There is a wide difference between emotion and reality. |

Career › Re: Women Bosses And Their Women Problem by neocortex: 6:58am On May 25, 2016 |
You cannot draw conclusion about women just because you have worked with one before. Even if you worked with a hundred female bosses , that isn't still enough to draw conclusion.
I am certain that had this your boss being a male your topic would have been : "my boss" not "my male boss".
There are countless male workers who suffer a worse fate under a male boss but you won't hear any of them saying "why are men like this", just switch the sexes and their story will change.
This same apply to ladies who usually claim that male bosses are sexual predators. |

nextstep: Defense of the law is the purview of police (with warrants, etc), not for some misguided vigilante. What he has done is assault, invasion of privacy, and battery, and he should be sued for all counts.
I was OK with him tipping off the police so they can carry out their duty, but not OK with him assaulting people based on his prejudices. Even the police are encouraged to limit the amount of physical force they use on suspects.
Finally, the prostitutes are there because Russian men pay for their services. If people started harassing the men the way they go about assaulting prostitutes, the situation would change radically While I do agree with you that the man has no business enforcing laws, however your above argument in bold is wrong as it effectively covers for all manner of crimes. One could also argue that drug pushers, ritualist, gun runners and hired assassins are "there" because someone pays their services. Commercialisation of vice shouldn't be blamed on demands simply because it is convenient to do so. |

donhils: Disappearance of data(which is not what he's complaining about) is a technical hitch that most times doesn't last long b4 it's rectified. This is however, different from data burning faster than usual (which is what he's complaining about). They are both one and the same, If I subscribed for 4gb of data and I got a message that my data has been exhausted even though my device's data usage reads 2gb, will I be wrong to say that my data got burnt faster ? This experience is familiar with airtel subscribers, it was only recently that MTN joined the bandwagon. Mind you my friends 1.7gb was never returned. |

I've been subscribing to MTN since I can't remember and this month I subscribed to the new 1.5GB plan , the consumption is still the same. Nothing's changed. Go and check your data counter. He is right , the 3.5gb I subscribed 7 days ago "disappeared" the third day while my data counter reads 1gb. I had already subscribed again before I got a message from MTN yesterday that my "lost" data has been restored. That you didn't experience it doesn't make it a lie. |

inplay: I needed some cash for some urgent needs so i went to Access Bank to withdrew the cash.
I got there by 9:30am and met some customers outside and was told they are yet to opened due to the strike palaver,
i was shocked coz i never remembered when strike was declared for all institution.
After waiting for close to 2-3hrs they eventually opened and allowed us to enter the premises.
I quickly went to the counter to withdrew the money, lo and behold i was bounced, on further enquiry i was told by one of the staff that according to their policy i can only cashed out the 30k via atm.
I spent another 1hr to complete some formalities before i was given the atm card after which i withdrew the money.
All this happened in access bank branch office in warri, water resources road to be precise.
My question here is:
Is it a must for every Account Holder to possess an ATM Card?
Cc lalasticlala. David470. My guess is that you are operating a savings account. Most banks discourage savings account users from counter withdrawal. |
