Quit being tribalistic. Make a name for yourself like your 'Ibo' brothers have done and stop resting on their acheivements.

NB: Yorubas have their share of history too, you probably don't know.

Aderostock:
It wasn't a yoruba newspaper but a nigerian newspaper which had a yoruba name just like everyother newspaper suchas punch which is English name. It was even named and way established by a whiteman. Please remove that gums in your eyes and see clearly, okay?

Sounds like you have a personal vendetta against the Yoruba tribe. Nigeria's official language is 'English', not 'Yoruba'. It has a Yoruba name and started in a Yoruba state, doesn't that say something?

Sports / Messi Breaks Muller Record With 86th Goal by neversaynever(m): 10:27pm On Dec 09, 2012
Lionel Messi has set a new record of 86 goals in a calendar year after surpassing Gerd Muller's record of 85 strikes in Seville on Sunday night.
The Barcelona man achieved the feat with two fine strikes in the first half an hour against Betis, meaning he has notched up the tally of 86 in 66 games.
It took Muller just 60 appearancesto set the previous record in 1972.
The Argentine started 2012 with two goals against Osasuna in the Copa del Rey, and regularly notched up doubles and trebles throughout the year for both club and country.
He scored exactly two goals on 20occasions, and at least three strikes nine times, including a five-goal haul against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League.
Muller hit 42 Bundesliga goals in 34 outings to fire Bayern Munich to the German title in 1971-72 and eventually 1972-73, and he also played an integral role in West Germany's European Championship victory. He scored five goals in the four finals games it took die Mannschaft to lift the trophy under the old format.
Muller was also boosted by Bayern's run of 21 matches in 37 days during the traditional pre-season period. Due to the summer Olympics that year, the German domestic football season was pushed back until September 16, so a new competition - the DFB-Ligapokal (League Cup) - was hastily introduced to ward off rustiness.
Muller scored 12 goals in five games in that maiden campaign, while he scored 10 goals against Galatasaray and Omonia Nicosia inthe opening stages of the old European Cup.

playmode: Nigger mentality at it's best.20 years from now when she will be broke like a church rat other Niggers will sympathize with her. They just never learn,no matter how rich i am or how much i love my other half i will never buy her a $3 Million watch. That is just dumb and anyone who does that is just plain stupid.

What if they get divorced in future, what happens then? Besides most of these celebs live on credit,i bet she is still paying for the watch in installments. This is why Obama needs to tax these rich Americans ,they obviously have too much money that they do not know what to do with it anymore.

If i ever wish to spend such an amount on my wife ,i will buy her a block of flats or buy her shares in a viable company. That way the money will generate more money for her.I am so glad i don't reason like these guys.

Who told you she doesn't have investments? You'll be suprised at the level of investments she has. Point of correction, not all of them live on credit. It all depends on your worth...if you're worth $20m for example, getting a $3m won't be a big deal to you, but if you're worth $3m, you'll go for a lower priced car. Make the money first, you'll see.

If your Christianity depends upon a pastor's charisma, then you're a long way from being a true worshiper of God.

Seriously? I wonder why this much hatred towards MOGs. What exactly is wrong with wishing a Pastor 'happy birthday'? If you're in a position half as high as he is, then you'll know it has nothing to do with charisma.

jcgodfrey: "What if" is fantasy. The fact is Zidane played for France. Okocha played for Nigeria but he's still a great player. Am not comparing Messi to C.Ronaldo, who doesn't interest me in the least. Neither did I say Messi aint good. Sure Messi is good, but the hype pass wetin him dey do. Fine, Zidane has a temper n missed 2 matches. Sure he has a great team backing him, but that team was built in 3 years after usa 94 which France failed to qualify for! But the French players all recognize their reference player n it was Zidane, same in 2006. That's howe success is built around a team. So when he returned, the rest was history. U can't say he did nothing. He scored 2 goals in a world cup final against brazil! Guy, go sidon somewhere jor. Olodo. And he won the champions league with his goal too. Zidane might not score 45 goals in a match n chase stats like some glory-hunting players, but we all know watsap. When it came to the big ocassions, the dude stepped up big-time! Same for Delima Ronaldo. Messi is now a senior player so the world cup n copa america are reference points for him now, not the Olympics, so he has to get his acts together for his country. or else, how do u justify Zidane n Delima Ronaldo who have 6 ballon d'ors between them n 5 world cup medals n be dragging with Messi who hasn't even played a world cup semi-final?? Clubwise, Zidane won it all too. The only thing is Messi actively chases goals deliberately. So how would u score 75 or wateva goals in a season n not win the league or ucl? And xavi n co score like 5 or 7? That's stupidity. But madrid share their goals round n won the league with record points. That's sensible. So if Messi likes, he should deliberately chase n break Muller's goal record, but he should remember that Muller has won the world cup n everything else with record goals too. Even George Weah won Ballon d'or, unfortuntely Liberia aint that big, but u can't say d same for Argentina. So Messi should change his deliberate goal-hunting perception n work for the good of his team n his country. Even Maradona got to 2 back-to-back world cup finals while winning one n he didn't do it by scoring 56,000 goals.

Mr analyser, Ronaldo won 2 world cups and Zidane won 1, i wonder where you got the 5 world cup medals between them.

Please, please and please quote for me where it's written that you must win a world cup (a tournament that occurs once in 4years) to be a great. If messi's still active and he's still being compared to pele, maradona and the likes, at 25 years of age, i wonder what he'll be labelled as when he hangs his boots. If the world cup happens every year, i bet you he'll have at least 3 to his name.

Start searching for ingredients to cook up new excuses cos he'll win the 'Copa' and 'WC' soon.

After reading all comments on Messi by mostly critics, i can tell that it's not about Messi winning the world cup or playing in the EPL to prove himself, it's simply beef. I agree most of the 75 records listed here are irrelevant because a list of records made by cristiano ronaldo, rooney, eto'o, kaka and the likes can be made too. He's still an active footballer, so it doesn't matter if he's the greatest footballer or not, he's the king of football now. I'm sure if he moves to any other league and wins again, wins the world cup and copa america, he'll still have critics, it's normal, every player does. It also doesn't matter if pele approves of him or not, he's made his name during his own time, messi's making his now. Think of it, he's the only player being compared so much to the greatest 2 players, that says something doesn't it?

RudySmith:

What has MY achievement got to do with anything? are you now saying that only people who have achieved more can say anything about Messi? what king of uneducated statement is that.
The sad fact is that Messi, as great as he is at Barcelona, has not achieved anything under ARGENTINA, and until he does, he will remain just that. Why do you think they still idolize Maradona and call him God in Argentina, when Messi is doing all the stuff that is mentionned on that list? have you for one minute thought that maybe, "just maybe" all the stuff mentionned is crap, and means very little in football.

here is a clue: do you think footballers want to be remembered/idolized for what is written on this thread or for WINNING THE WORLD CUP WITH THEIR NATIONAL TEAM?!

Why so much hatred? If you can't appreciate, then let him be. Where was it written that you have to win the world cup to be the greatest? There are so many football greats who didn't even get a taste of the quarter finals of the world cup. I'm not suprised though...Pele and Maradona had critics too, even though they won the world cup.

BTW, you make it sound as if he's won nothing at all for Argentina. Remember U-20 World youth championship and Beijing 2008 Soccer competition?

^^ What possible meaningful message is "Take banana till you go yo" (x5) passing to you?

All songs carry messages, even messages unintended by the singer, that's the power of music! However, the OP's point was tied around POSITIVE messages, songs that possess meaningul lyrics that rub off on you and affect your thought pattern in a good way, which is lacking in no small measure.

What's your definition of a positive message? The music you're making reference to may not carry a positive message, but you can't judge all men with one man's error. Give me an example of a 'positive messaged' music too.
Music/Radio / Re: Nigerian Music Of Today Is An Aberration by neversaynever(m): 9:27pm On Nov 28, 2012
Choice people, choice. It's all about choice. Life'll be boring if we all danced to the same tune. What you consider trash may pass message to another.
Music/Radio / Re: Nigerian Music Of Today Is An Aberration by neversaynever(m): 9:43am On Nov 28, 2012
@ op, you have good points, but i also think it depends on the kind of music you listen to. Most of the musicians you mentioned also had music that weren't accepted during their time too. Fela for instance sang about women and smoked marijuana on stage, imagine that kind of role model in our time. No doubt it's worse than the old days but we have good musicians now too. Search and you'll see.

Unknown Member: - What is the added value of attending this program?!

- The ones you have attended before now nko?! Does the Holy Ghost annointing have expiration Date that you need to be renewing it every year?!

- Why so many conventions, crusades and retreats in one year?! Isnt one enough?!

- What about the added risk of putting so many Redeemed members on the road from all 36 States to Lagos?! I thought Christians had an 'Ember Month' Phobia for travelling?!

Anyways, I personally cannot be bothered.. I feel this is just another avenue for a Pastor to fleece his followers.. Jesus never attended a congress, neither did his disciples.

These programs happen once a year...more like a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity, so it's about grace, not renewal.
Life'll be boring if we all danced to the same tune, so you can choose your preference, afterall your heart is what matters, so the end justifies the means.

'EMBER MONTH' phobia? Really? Is there any month that accidents aren't recorded. It's just another mythology to me.
