Sounds strange. Just wondering if the díck'll disappear, reduce or be like...paralysed. Reduction makes a bit of sense, the victim must've inhaled/ate something, but disappearance? Nah nah, i don't buy that.
Christianity EtcRe: Simple Religiomatics.. by neversaynever(m): 12:09am On Mar 02, 2013
Religion is an organized collection of belief systems, cultural systems, and world views that relate humanity to spirituality and, sometimes, to moral values.

But i tell you, not everyone is organised, religious or not. Religion shouldn't therefore be top criteria for rating Nigeria's corrupt state. Religion doesn't also work for all, seeing you're an ex-christian et all. smiley
Christianity EtcRe: What Do You Stand To Gain For Being An Atheist? by neversaynever(m): 8:27pm On Feb 18, 2013
musKeeto: If there's nothing after death, just like there was nothing before birth, then you have nothing to lose. But you'd have lost a lot while living : the prayers, fasting, religious activities, tithes etc...

The atheist/agnostics loses nothing both ways, IMO. Most atheists hold themselves responsible for their actions and seek to enjoy the experience of this one life.

On the other hand, if I die and meet the Christian God (i'd leave out other Gods at the moment in order not to derail this thread), I'd be shocked... And I would ask him a lot questions before he flips my sorry a55 to hell...

So what exactly is there to lose? The thought of singing all eternity long in heaven isn't an appealing one. God better get an ipod...
Your obsession seems to be with the Christian God, i thought atheism is supposed to be against all religion. Why so much persistence on Christianity?

Provided they pay me the same $3O,OOO the SE were paid for getting to the q/finals, without refunds whether they win or lose.

Christianity EtcRe: Predictions For The First Quarter Of 2013 by neversaynever(m): 3:44pm On Jan 30, 2013
Boomark: SE are not that good but they are better than their opponents. So they did not barely qualify. That is what people should know.
Look, criticise constructively. You can't say there wasn't a time when you were watching the match that you didn't fear that Nigeria might crash out. That's my point.
Christianity EtcRe: Predictions For The First Quarter Of 2013 by neversaynever(m): 3:38pm On Jan 30, 2013
honeric01: Our discussion is not about whether they played up to a "standard" or not, our discussion is on "barely".
Well then maybe you should check up the meaning of 'barely' & relate it to the OP's predictions.
Christianity EtcRe: Predictions For The First Quarter Of 2013 by neversaynever(m): 2:23pm On Jan 30, 2013
Boomark: I wonder where to apply "barely" in the nigerian group matches.

1 We almost won Burkina Faso if not for their last minute equalizer.

2 we almost won Zambia if not for the wrong penalty awarded in their favour.

3 we won Ethiopia.

1, 2, 3 would have been 7 points. 5 points is not "barely" biko.

Well its about time to say something about our next match.
Well, 'almost' doesn't win a game. It's either you did or you didn't, that's what differenciates winners from losers, if the SE were that good, why didn't they protect their lead against b/faso & zambia? Imagine yourself saying 'Nigeria almost won AFCON 2OOO' or 'Cristiano Ronaldo almost won the Ballon D'or'.
Christianity EtcRe: Predictions For The First Quarter Of 2013 by neversaynever(m): 1:00pm On Jan 30, 2013
honeric01: And when has the SE not been playing with HP? tell me when last you watched Nigeria play without some having HP issues, so it's not new.

Having 4 points were not enough for any of these countries to qualify until they won/drew their last matches, same with Nigeria, they were all in the same category and there's no way you can separate them. they all needed their last matches to move to the next stage.

If they lost their matches and the others won or even drew, they would have lost out, so whichever way you look at it, they were all in the same pot of soup.

No matter how you try to paint it, whoever didn't win 2 matches were not guarantee any passage until their last match and apart from CIV, the rest 7 quarter-finalist fall into this group, so does that mean all the 7 barely qualified?

If we had drawn last night and still end up qualifying, then the word "barely" would have made sense!

BTW, we finished same point with the group leader with just 2 goals difference, so nothing like "barely" in the passage.
Look, if you checked the dailies/news after the Ethiopia game, you'll see that the fans were jubilant for nothing, cos the experts have predicted q/finals as Nigeria's bus-stop in d AFCON. If the SE's matches before now were below par, wouldn't it be good to have wished for a change in this competition? We're meeting CIV in the q/finals & we're underdogs. You still haven't answered my question about if you think the SE's performance have been worth being proud of. If we lose to CIV (which is most likely to happen), then we only won 1 of 4 matches, a DISMAL performance.

Nejawa: Afam4eva, i think somehow it depends on the person you're talking with and the mood she's in.... Some people are nice and take pity on conversationally inept people like you...lol! Others are just mean and will belittle you till you lose what little threads of conversation you have.
Just for the record tho, I've always been fascinated by politics and the goings on around the country. I'm just too lazy to read the papers and too incredibly bored by the newscasters. If you're 0.1% more interesting than any of the above, you can converse with me on politics... Warning tho, I'm positively ignorant about it so don't expect any more than questions for a while.
Is this a date-game or what?
Christianity EtcRe: Predictions For The First Quarter Of 2013 by neversaynever(m): 12:27am On Jan 30, 2013
obi4eze: Tunisia winning the tournament? Let them qualify from their group first then we can talk about them winning the tournament. As far as I'm concerned, they won't.
I'm not saying Tunisia will win the tournament, but could you have put your money on Zambia winning the last edition?

They're just predictions BTW.
Christianity EtcRe: Predictions For The First Quarter Of 2013 by neversaynever(m): 12:25am On Jan 30, 2013
honeric01: it still doesn't make it barely because we are to win and that's all we need. If drawing, yet qualify, then you can call it 'barely'.

So using CIV as sample is not 'it' because only them qualified with a game to spare. Does that mean the rest 7 are going to barely qualify?
Look, CIV was just an example of a team that didn't let it's fans almost have hypertension by winning her group matches smoothly, unlike our dear Naija. Ghana & S/Africa had 4 points after 2 matches, so they had better odds at qualifying, they could have both lost their last matches, & depending on what happens in other matches, still qualify. Had Nigeria lost against Ethiopia, it was over, no calculations. The OP said Nigeria was going to have a dismal show & was barely gonna qualify from the group stage, can you boldly say Nigeria's performance was good, really? As i said earlier, 'barely' means 'almost impossible', not 'totally impossible. I'm not 100% after the OP's prediction, but you can only question his AFCON prediction if he had used the word 'barely' for a team like CIV.
Christianity EtcRe: Predictions For The First Quarter Of 2013 by neversaynever(m): 5:51pm On Jan 29, 2013
Boomark: If i use barely in every prediction, it then means i can never be wrong in any of my predictions. Or by even saying, pray hard for it to happen or not to happen. huh

Therefore, as prophet one touch, am saying that this is the day Nigeria and Burkina Faso qualify. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Well, impossibility is nothing in football (not all times though)
Christianity EtcRe: Predictions For The First Quarter Of 2013 by neversaynever(m): 5:31pm On Jan 29, 2013
Bidam: but what if they draw..are you going to swallow your words?
Even if they draw, they can still qualify, although that's if Burkina faso beats Zambia.
Christianity EtcRe: Predictions For The First Quarter Of 2013 by neversaynever(m): 5:23pm On Jan 29, 2013
honeric01: But their chances aren't small because moving to the quarter finals is in their hands. just a win by any margin is what is needed, so nothing "barely" here.
Try to get it. CIV have qualified with a match to spare & have more points then Nigeria will have even if they win, Nigeria have to wait till the last match to be sure of their stand, they might as well lose, & even if they win, they'll know they were fortunate unlike CIV who have qualified even without playing their last group match.
Christianity EtcRe: Predictions For The First Quarter Of 2013 by neversaynever(m): 5:06pm On Jan 29, 2013
honeric01: How is the bolded?

Do you know what "barely" mean?
Barely means "By a small margin" or "Almost not at all". So, you see....he said their chances are so slim, not that they certainly wont. A chance is a chance, even if it's small.

I would be more than willing to post all I know, the problem is that it takes so much time. I wish more people would contribute! Another problem is that a lot of the Yoruba you see on this forum is the bastardized Yoruba/English version.

Maybe you can look up Seunfly, he is very good in Yoruba and helped me to completel my Yoruba exam with a perfect A.

SportsRe: Nigeria V Burkina Fasso - The Premier League Has Destroyed Our Football by neversaynever(m): 11:25pm On Jan 26, 2013
coogar: where are swansea on the league table? the arsenal invincible was a bit of both - they mixed tippy-tappy with some of the crudest football you can ever see. lauren, keown, vieira and gilberto were mean motherfückers who broke bones when required.

barcelona lost the league race last season - why didn't their possessive football beat mourinho's pragmatism? city won the premier league, why didn't arsenal's possession football or swansea's spanish style win the english league? enough with all the nonsense you guys are spewing. there are many ways to win a game of football!

this is a crazy statement to make.....
no manager or tactics instructs the players to give the ball away carelessly. you can argue the present german team is more talented than the 2006 but to argue one team deliberately gives the ball away is criminal! the present german team are younger, more talented and their main ethos is their counterattacking football!

it has never worked!
possession football with a purpose is the key! hugging possession without hurting your opponents is just a waste of time - as arsenal have been known in recent times. this is why many prefer direct football in england. look at all the newly promoted teams that came into the premier league - only stoke have stayed in the premier league for so long and they didn't achieve it by playing tippy-tappy. blackpool, hull, etc have all been forgotten now with their tippy-tappy! this is england - strength over style!
Lame argument. Whoever said possesive football was the only way to win a match? I think you need to go watch arsenal's invincibles again, they had rough players quite all right, but so does every good team, but when they held the ball, it was smooth all through. Barcelona had won the leagud three times in a row, they're not immortal, plus it was down to multiple injuries, & take nothing away from realmadrid, they're good, & why didn't mourinho win the league in his 1st season? Again, stop asking why mid-table teams don't win leagues. Swansea city aren't a league winning team, they don't have big budgets, but they're in a cup final for the 1st time in their history to face another side that play possesive football. Coincedence?
CultureRe: Yorubas, Please Help Me Translate These Words. by neversaynever(m): 11:04pm On Jan 26, 2013
You're welcome, it's nothing really. @ starflux, what i've noted is that many words are better understood when said than written & most words aren't pronunced the exact way they're written e.g. 'Good morning' is 'eku owuro' but it's mostly pronunced 'ekaaro', 'Have you eaten'? is 'se o ti jeun' but pronunced 'so ti jeun'. Anyway, answer to your question is 'It shall lead us to money, children & continuity in that thing that makes you progress (there might be a better explanation for that though). @ eze promoe, funny no. 5O you got there, but i think you already know the answer.

Direct football might not die, but it's presently on the backfoot. R.madrid won the league last season but where are they now? Crumbling! You say you can't play possesive football in england...remember Arsenal's invincibles? You ever watch swansea of late? Even bayern munich. Dude, this is good football's era.
SportsRe: Nigeria V Burkina Fasso - The Premier League Has Destroyed Our Football by neversaynever(m): 1:45pm On Jan 26, 2013
thegoodjoehunt:
Your own is to argue things you don't understand. Even Omar22 agreed that Germany is playing more possessively now but you are saying there are no changes.

You are saying, " scolari was at chelsea, how much tiki-taka did he introduce in his disgraceful spell in england?"

Ask Chelsea fans, their problem with Scolari was that he was trying to change them to Brazil. At Chelsea he didn't get the kind of players he worked with and had a short stay. It is like saying Boas is not a good coach because he didn't do well at Chelsea.

Scolari succeeded with the Brazilian and Portuguese teams because they have skillful players. Not Chelsea at that time with Mechanics as Footballers. Why do you think he wanted Robinho and Quaresma. Why do you think Chelsea went on to buy Hazard, Oscar, Mata, Marin, Moses, Piazon etc. That is skillful players. They know that mechanic football is going out of date.

Chelsea now have more Brazilians than ever ( Piazon, Oscar, Ramires, David Luiz ) ie what Scolari was trying to do but you are criticizing him.

The Kick and Hush football is dying, that is why Mourinho is finding it difficult at Real Madrid.
Pure & simple.
SportsRe: Nigeria V Burkina Fasso - The Premier League Has Destroyed Our Football by neversaynever(m): 7:35pm On Jan 25, 2013
coogar: excellent post, omar22!
i don't think i need to add anything to this for the tiki-taka worshipper who wants the whole world to adopt the barcelona style as if teams had not won more titles with their own style back in the days. the much lauded barcelona side never played 2 champions league finals in a row with all their heavenly football - but every football team should emulate their style?
One thing about life is; No matter how good you are or how well you do what you do, you're gonna have critics, that's for sure. So, i'm not suprised you see nothing good in what barcelona/spain are doing. For the record, Barcelona might not have played two UCL finals in a row, but they won three UCL titles in six years, & won six titles in a calender year (the only team to achieve that feat), spain won back to back Euro titles (the only team to also do it), & won a world cup in between. If that's not worth emulating, then what is?
