The devil cannot attack a chriatian from outside effectively thus demons are always seeking opportunities to gain entrance within so as to operate from inside. Little wonder the bible says "guide your heart with all deligence for out it are the issues of life" Ephesians 6:11-12 NLT "Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places" |
You know at a particular level of one's spiritual development, it seem almost effortless to read a newspaper, novel, listen to the news or follow up on a season movie like 24; heros, alias, prison break etc than it is studying one's bible or doing thing that have eternal value even though one is aware of the need to do the later. How can possibly overcome such a distraction and become more yeilded to God's Spirit? |
Ymodulus: Image123:l have often wonder what somebody in the figure of Ymodulus who claims not to be a Christian could be doing in this religious section, what sense could a non-Christian contribute to Christian talk be that as it may though l have cause to believe that this Ymodulus is our BONBOI especially with his ferocious opposition of CEC |

@Tsammy very very true. |
This topic is very interesting to me because Jesus Christ deemed it important such that he chose to stay back 40days after his resurrection from the dead just to sufficiently proof that though they saw him dead and buried but now He is alive bodily out of the grave perhaps because He was aware many today would Disagree now wonder the bible says "with abundant proofs he showed himself. . .STILL ALIVE after his death (Acts 1:3TCNT) brothers and sisters Jesus Christ IS still ALIVE today and the significant is simple: Luke 4: 18 ,19 “ The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me , Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor ; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted , To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind , To set at liberty those who are oppressed ; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD. ” Acts 10 : 38 “ how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. ” |
l was having my quiet time today while fellowshipping with the word of God, l came across a portion of scripture which reaffirmed a very important truth that for many has excused their consciousness: Jesus Christ the same yesterday, Today and Forever. Acts 1:3 (TCNT) "with abundant proofs, He showed Himself to them still living, after His death, ." Jesus Christ manifested himself with abundant "abundant proofs" after His death to His apostles and others for 40 days after His resurrection from the dead. The kjv puts it this way: "to whom also he showed Himself ALIVE. . .by many INFALLIBLE PROOFS" Wow isn't it comforting to know that this very great personality of iconic status-Jesus Christ who as a larger-than-life figure walked this terrestrial segment of eternity healing, delivering, helping and showing love at its purest state, though He was killed, buried, resurrected on the 3rd day and ascended into heaven but even now He's alive and the influence of His person is still tangible and evidently felt even today. What are this proofs Acts 2:22 "Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know" l love the MSG translation ". . . Jesus the Nazarene, a man thoroughly accredited by God to you- the miracles and wonders and signs that God did through him are common knowledge" That same Jesus of Nazareth still heals today, he still restores Today, he still delivers today AND he still saves today through his CHURCH which is the EXTENSION His DAYS on earth JJESUS CHRIST THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY AND FOREVER HEBREWS 13:8 |
@loveking this twisted mind with a wet brain has never ever proven himself to be reasonable in the slightest semblance of the word. YOOKOS IS A GREAT ACHIEVEMENT AND DESERVES ALL THE SUPPORT IT CAN ATTRACT THOUGH VERY MUCH EVOLVING IN MANY WAYS. |

I have always loved to discuss Bible prophecies especially when l brings to mind a famous saying from a great man whom l proudly celebrates as a mentor he often said "the bible is much more current than tomorrow's newspaper". I would first of all wish to emphasize the profound revelation made by the apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" BIBLE PROPHECY ABOUT THE CHURCH Daniel 2:44 (NLT) "During the reigns of these kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed or conquered. It will crush all these kingdoms into nothingness, and it will stand forever. That is the meaning of the rock cut from the mountain, though not by human hands, that crushed to pieces the statue of iron, bronze, clay, silver, and gold. The great God was showing the king what will in the future. THE DREAM IS TRUE, AND ITS MEANING CERTAIN" This reference stands out as one of my favourite bible prophecies with many talking points Daniel said while interpreting this dream of king Nebuchadnezzar that the rock cut out of the mountain is a kingdom set up by the God of heaven. It is interesting that he uses the word "kingdom" you see Jesus Christ came preaching "the kingdom of God" was at hand, because as at then the kingdom hadn't showed up yet not until in Acts 2 at the upper room on the day of Pentacost when the promised Holy Spirit who is the spirit of our adoption as sons of God came as He began His ministry and announces the emergence of the church I believe that the church has being in formation all through the old testament prior to the eventual announcement of the church in Acts 2 This is so because Daniel gave us a clue "the God of heaven will SET UP a kingdom" the word translated "set up" is an Aramaic word which by interpretation means the establish, to raise up, to (a) rise up etc This point explains the fact that the church is being perfected according to 1 Ephesians 4:11-14. Finally, 1 Corinthians 15:24 "Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power" The ultimate destination of the church: A CHURCH WITHOUT SPOT OR WRINKLES |
@Nuclearboy l don't think you have a problem with reading properly, l can't recall ever saying "you said" l only said "it seem to imply that you are suggesting that demons can confess Jesus Christ Lord thus causing them to tremble" Do you by any chance understand the difference. nuclearboy:Wow this rhetoric sounds familiar go on l see the monster in you is beginning to come out- SELF PROCLAIMED RIGHTEOUSNESS @Nuclearboy nuclearboy:So what is wrong with that didn't you read how that because of the rejection of Jesus Christ by the Jews by their not accepting Him as their Lord and Messiah He said "another will come in his own name, him they shall believe and who do think He was refering to |
nuclearboy:Ok se bi you know the bible please l want to know where you got your reference from because your rethorical question "what spirit makes demons tremble and know Jesus is Lord" seem to imply that you are suggesting that demons can confess Jesus Christ Lord thus causing them to tremble. Abi is it possible you extracted it from the quaran otherwise am tempted to call a liar. All l need is the scripture that suggest that demons have the capacity to confess Jesus Lord and tremble. |
Daniel 2:44(Amplified) 44 And in the days of these[ final ten] kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed, nor shall its sovereignty be left to another people; but it shall break and crush and consume all these kingdoms and it shall stand forever. Praise God, this is a prophecy of the church by Daniel in that interpretation of the the reams of king Nebuchadnezzer. |
IKE's last goal was for all the injuries and a statement that "am back please give me more playing time siasa" |
Why is consistency a major challenge when it comes to developing and building the spiritual Self |
At what point do you feel or are convinced that God has called you for something much more than the general level or premise of functioning in Ministry perhaps for something much more specific. |
^^^^ Thanks Jo |
^^^^^^ Thanks am looking forward to it |
Dear Moderator, l wish to kindly place this formal complain, this has become necessary after specifically placing a warning that no form of argument was welcomed so as not to constitute a derail in the topic titled "What is the work of ministry" l opened yet one kunleoshob disregarded this warning and chose to make a contribution that has no bearing with the topic thus attempting to derail the thread. Please Moderator things like this are not to be taken likely and must not continue otherwise nairaland/religion section will niche a reputation where everything but learning takes place. Thank you for acting and bringing sanity. |
Colosians 3:10(Amplified version) "10 And have clothed yourselves with the new[ spiritual self], which is[ ever in the process of being] renewed and remolded into[ fuller and more perfect a knowledge upon] knowledge after the image( the likeness) of Him Who created it" The amplified uses the expression "spiritual self" then l thought for a moment; oh how many of us Christians are informed of our "spiritual self"as much as we are of our physical self. Well the obvious is the case where are almost always than not over burdened with cares and concerns of what to eat, wear, sleep, how to get the hair done, what best body lotion to use etc but we rarely and pathetically for most Christian don't at all express any semblance of concern for the nourishment of our spiritual self. OUR SPIRITUAL SELF IS NOURISHED IN KNOWLEDGE Colosians 3:10 TCNT "And clothe yourselves with that new self which, as it GAINS in KNOWLEDGE is being constantly renewed in resemblance to him who made it" wow what a great expose meaning that as we make gains in KNOWLEDGE with respect to our "spiritual self" by the word of God we constantly become vitally more and more like the one who is the essence of our being even God who is both Father and Creator in whom all things consist and have their bearing (Colosians 1:15-17). You see when the bible says that as Christ is so we are on the earth, that is on a legal premise we only vitally begin to experience it in reality the very moment we consciously start making gains in the KNOWLEDGE of Christ and in the knowledge of the tangibility of the reality of His person and nature on a consistent basis For instance 2 Peter 1:2 (NLT) "May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your KNOWLEDGE of God and Jesus our Lord" So you increase in more and more Grace and Peace as you make gains in your KNOWLEDGE of God and Jesus Christ our Lord. John 17:3 "And this is life eternal, that they might KNOW the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hath sent" The spiritual controls the physical, there is more thing than what our eyes can see so to live a successful and victorious Christian life we must of necessity live and function from inside out. |
please l mean "what IS THE WORK OF MINISTRY" not "What IS THE WEEK OF ministry". thank You |
Ephesians 4:12 "For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ" This scripture actually reads for the perfecting of the saints, so the saints will do the work of ministry by so doing the body of Christ is edified. My sincere question is: What is THE WORK OF MINISTRY. You l don't want to assume l know, so please l welcome honest and sincere contributions so l and many others will learn. WARNING: PLS THIS TOPIC IS NOT OPEN TO ANY FORM OF ARGUMENT. THANK YOU. |
@Gangaseed Thank you for your sincere concerns, be rest assured that from our history, we have proven to make everything we get involved with turn out good. Once again thank you. |

Romans 12:2 "And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, " The Greek word translated renewing is the word "Anakainosis", Anakainosis is a noun word which means to renovation and renovation means to entirely overhaul, improve and repair. This is significant because when a man becomes born again, that is not a guaranty that all the information that previously existed in the mind of that individual would suddenly automatically disapear. Well if that were so, then we probably would loss all memories of those close and dear to us in the flesh prior to the moment we got born again, that particular boy friend's pictures would suddenly turn out strenge and questionable. But that is not so, all of such information and more still retains their storage spaces in our minds. This is so because when a man get born again it is his human spirit that receives that newness of both life and nature, his spirit which was hitherto before now estranged and alienated to God now is reconciled and reunited with God (his true source and maker) but the reality is that his mind requires a RENEWAL in order to function at the level of his regenerated spirit. Transformation or change comes by the renewing of the mind this renewing is simply a renovation and repair process. Repair because devastating damage had been wrought prior to this time. Little wonder Epesians 4:23-24 echoes this truth Epesians 4:23-24 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind. And thjat ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness here the word translated as renew is "ananeoo" which is a verb of the noun "anakainosis" Then we are told what to renewed our mind on and with Colosians 3:10 "And have put on the new man, which is renewed in Knowledge (epignosis) after the image of him that created him" Finally The renewal of the mind is a continuous and an un going process that is of paramount importance for living an exciting and victorious Christian life. |
Thank you all for your contributions thus far, may God bless you immensely. Just a couple of thoughts: Proverbs 24:10 "If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small" You l once heard of a story of a glass filled mid-way with water and two persons where called to give their deductions on it, then the first came and said "the glass is half empty" while the other said"the glass is half filled". Now the both of them are relatively correct the difference is simply in the perspectives. The first person viewed it from a "negative"perspective, while the other viewed it from a "positive" perspective. l found out that there is good in everything especially for the believer little wonder the bible says Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose" There is good in every adversity whether it came from Satan or as a resultant of our own doings (mistake). In the opening scripture above, the bible says your strength is small if thou faint in the day of adversity, the word translated "Small" here is the Hebrew word translated "tsar " which means narrow. Then also the Greek word translated "faint" in the context is the word translated "raphah" raphah means to let go, to slacken, to be weaken etc that means if you "let go" in the day of adversity, as negative as it sounds or may be the good there is that it only succeeds in revealing the measure of our strength which is little or narrow. Let go of what? Hebrews 3:6 "But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto te end" Hebrews 3:14 "For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfastly unto end" Hebrews 4:14 "Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that spared into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession" the word used here to express "hold fast" is the word "krateo" which means to use strength, seize or retain. You know some times we are so hard pressed on every side that we fill like given up while some re-energize and stay strong on the promise of God others lack the strength to seize or retain their hold on the word then they let go of(faint). But the goodnews is that even if you have fainted as a result of the magnitude of pressure don't get loose all hope yet, it only happened to reveal the true state of your strength so what do you do you go top on your strength jar by the word of God preparing for another day like Jo said quoting Ephesians 6:11 let us be fit and fortified with God's word. Be encouraged by these words Job 14:7-9 "For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground; Yet through the scent of water it will Buenos, and bring forth boughs like a plant" THIS A WORD FOR SOMEBODY, GOD BLESS YOU. |
