@nuclearboy Thank you for the insults l think you should be feeling better and a deep sense of a well achieved fulfilment, hmmm! |
THIS MATTER IS CONCLUDED I THINK PEOPLE LIKE NUCLEARBOY SHOULD AT LEAST FOR ONCE BE HUMBLE ENOUGH TO ACCEPT THE OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE LEARNT SOMETHING NEW AND STOP TRYING TO GIVE THE WORLD THE IMPRESSION THAT HE KNOWS AND HE'S ALWAY RIGHT AT EVERYTHING AT LEAST ADMIT SOME SENSE OF SOCRATIC IGNORANCE, WHICH IS A GOOD VIRTUE BECOS WE KNOW YOU KNOW EMM! NO DOUBT BUT PERHAPS YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THIS SCRIPTURE: 1Co 8:2 And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. NOBODY is discrediting your love for knowledge infact alot of us are inspired by it, thank you brother. But in this matter its not a question of who have won rather it is that you have learnt something. Note don't send a contrary post in reply to this, rather act honourably and admit Uhmm, l beg no fall my hand |
Staying with the light of the "intent" of this thread, l would kindly endeavour to simply answer the simple question the thread seem to seek to know which is "How Joagbaje Became God", well from all l have explained on my last post, if Joagbaje is a christian by virtue of his confessed trust and believe in the Lordship and saving grace of Jesus Christ according to John 1 2 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. then Joagbaje "Became God" the moment he acknowledged Christ Jesus as his Lord and Personal saviour period!!! that brings this thread to a close, thank you |
l just have a simple question for those who claim to be erudite bible aquitance The bible reveals to us how that we as christians have been begotten in Christ Jesus by God- John 1:12-13 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. For clearity, the grk word translated "sons" here is the word "teknon", which means child be it son or daughter it means "-as produced by" thus the christian by virtue of his trust and believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour is such been "as produced by God" Genesis 1:26-27 26 ¶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. God choose to make man in His own Image and likeness i.e man to look like him and function in the semblance of His similitude. Romans 8 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father Galasians 4: 5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. 6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. 7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. Galasians 3 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 1John 3 1 ¶ Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. The question of the christian being "god" is not in any respect to him taking God's place, its only a religious mind that would think that that the Pharisees, Sadusees and Scribes who lived in the days of Jesus. For instance nobody ever spoke like Jesus, He spoke differently at one instance in John 8:23 He made one of the profound statements l have ever heard- Joh 8:23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. Joh 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. Joh 8:25 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning. it is in actual sense the christian functioning like God in character and personality thus having experiences that are consistent with with his origin (God) l just have a simple question for those who claim to be erudite bible aquitance the upspring of a goat is a "dog" se bi, or perhaps the upspring of a Lion is called a "Tiger"? if not then the upspring of God is called what ", ", let a brave gentle man kindly fill the blank space |
hey! if the lower cased letter 'g' was used other than the upper cased 'G' for the word God inasmuch as the realm of the spirit is in no way sensitive or attaches any bit of significance to letter casing, all these idea of upper case and lower case only exist in the realms of men for the benefit of easy understanding. Angels don't need that, neither do demons require that aid to inference the difference that would be mundane. if the claims of being verse and competent in issues regarding the bible by the people who are critizing this proclamation by joagbaje is anything to give credence to then they should know enough to blindly disagree with joagbaje's claimes Psalms 82:6-7 6 ¶ I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. 7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. Even Jesus Christ Himself reaffirmed this truth John 10:34-35 34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? 35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; |

harakiri:This law must have been facilitated perhaps by those who present themselves as "women activist" campaigning against injustices and prejudises against women and the girl child which to a large extent is a undoubtedly is a just course, but they are gettig the solution wrong in initiating this "incomplete law" They seem to have an idea of the solution |
chukwudi44:Hey don't begin to sound baseless, having the picture of pastors on their publicity instruments is a common num which is in no way particularly indicative with just CEC or Pastor Chris so young man don't blaze an alternative path of unproductive dialogue. Make your point and leave it at that if you have any further detail make it known logically with veritable facts that have credible foundations. ![]() |

Is this some kind of cheap publicity stunt?? micheal Jackson could not perform at 02 because HE DIED! Quit making look like 02 is an arena where you need "spiritual" clout to utilize. Infact I once have been engaged in sexual gymnastics in that same 02 arena. So kini big deal??
l think you should be pacient enough to pay the cost of time in reading through a thread properly first before replying or vexing your misguided offence in public. l have read through Joeagbaje's initial post that set this thread into motion and l couldn't find any word, phrase or sentence that in any bit justifies your claims that he boasted about Pastor Chris successfully using the O2 Arena "that Micheal Jackson couldn't use". For God sake it would have been senseless and illogical in every way if he had included that in his post because it has to take a blind and deaf man living in the moon to successfully excuse his ignorance of known the fact that all arrangements were in top acceleration for the "THIS IS IT" concert with Micheal Jackson (late) at the O2 arena before the sad news of his unprecedental death interpulated our excitements for his long awaited "come back". l have gone through your several post on other threads as well and you seem to have a habit with consistency of not saying anything that communicate thoughts that satisfies the curiosity of a humble seeker of knownledge which a to large extent defeats the whole essence of have a forum-platform like that offerred by NL. If all people do is to abuse, insult, and breed unhealth discussion then we rather shut this service down and engage in some more lucrative ventures so young man address yourself and prove yourself worthy to participate in this God giving opportunity called nairaland. thank you |
nice and a well thought out thread l certainly hope it will endeavour to meet all the auto purcahsing need. |

This is my candid view on this issue and it is based on my personal study on the subject in simple sentences. I do wish which to contess anybodies view so this is in no way intended to attack or canvas support for anyone, l repeat this is an independent view. Luke 3:22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like <hosei> a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. Now it is interesting that the Grk. word translated "like" as used in the context is the word "hosei" "Hosei" could be used to simply express a disposition of mannerism; phrases like as if:--about, as (it had been, it were), like (as) expresses this disposition of mannerism. now be that as it may, let us bring this back into the context; ", the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape "as if like a dove" or "as it had been a dove" , or "as it were a dove" now the disposition with which the Holy Ghost came down on Jesus as a specific "private and personal" sign given to John the baptist to identifying the Jesus as the Christ was such that a dove would assume ina descent motion John 1:30-34 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me. 31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. 32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. 33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. 34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God. now that was a sign for John to see and know, thus dissolving doubts about the authenticity of the eventual presence of a long awaited fulfilment of the prophesies concerning the coming messiah "King of the Jews". It is important we understand that issues concerning the messiah was a very sensitive one considering the fact that at this time in history, the Jews were under the political jurisdiction of a foreign power thus explaining the several rebellions that took place all in an attempt to bring a "Jewish emmancipation" Acts 5 34 Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space; 35 And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men. 36 For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought. 37 After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed. so to a large extent, even when Jesus final came revealed with great signs and miracles most people thought him to be a political saviour and for morethan one recorded occation they sought to seize Him and forcefully make Him king but according to the accout He had to escape. So for John the Baptist to come and proclaim Jesus as the Christ in the public he sure did require a coonvincing sign one of which God was not short of. it wasn't like everybody saw this dramatic event, it was just a sign meant for John thus all John needed to look out for in the crowd was for the one upon whom the Spirit would descend in the manner of a dove. |
Or does anybody thinks otherwise ![]() |
well this is a good good start!!! lets build on it ![]() |

l hope this man Gadafi has all of Africa in mind, how can we be sure he is not seeking his own interest only? |
VALIDATOR:permit to sound this way; when you finish wandering, please ensure to fine your way. Why didn't prayer prevent it, question: did you pray? secondly, it is childish to ask a question of ", why can't prayers get them out without the engineers digging another hole to get them out, " nonetheless, though we can't do anything about what has happenned, we can do somuch about what is happenning. the engineers need an inspirational idea now and they're grtting it though it would take a little time to get to them but for the most part if what our prayers is doing is to keep those men believing and full of hope well then its working because their responses in recent times has been encouraging and we heard that for the very first time, warm meals were dropped down to them and most of them have started regainning their fitness. For God sake, these men our about 3,600fts in the heart of the earth, this no time to asked such questions or to wander. |
perhas l should also note some important and interesting facts from this verse Romans 10:9 viz: 1. we are not told to perform the confession with our hearts rather we are told to CONFESS WITH OUR MOUTH so that means there is a talking that takes place not like what most people say ", em its in my heart and God knows my heart, " 2. we are also told what to confess. He didn't say confess your sins rather he says confess i. the Lordship of Jesus Christ ii. the authenticity of the reality of His resurrection from the dead. why? Because not all men would believe and agree and even of many do, not all would be bold enough to declare their hearts convictions as a of the witness the strength of their believe (heart) which nobody can see. see alot of people make the mistake by saying that ", em anyway sha God knows my heart and that is all that matters, ", fah fah fowl !!! sure God knows your heart em no doubt but that is God and God is in heaven but you are on earth and on the earth we have men who do not have such previlleges and abilities but are only retricted to all their 5 senses can relate with thus Jesus said ", by their fruits we shall know them, " also the scripture says ", let your light so shine before MEN that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven, " in as much as we don't feed on peoples judgements and opinions of us and that the testimony and record of God is greater, God is interested in getting glory from them which can only happen when your light SO shines for them to see. thus it is not enough to believe with the heart, CONFESSION with the mouth is vital. I have never seen or heard couples at a wedding or marriage ceremony making their vows of commitments in silence perhaps just gesturing in a nod of the head to insinuate acceptance as much as they are not oblivious of the love they both share. |
chukwudi44:My dear l kindly have just one question for you which is; in your entire christian walk with God, have you ever come across this verses of scriptures in Romans 10:9-10 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. the wordens of these verses above seem to present to me what obviously looks like a blue print for "obtaining salvation". The problem with man is that he always wants to feel like he should earn almost everything he gets from even God, that is religion- self-reghteouness but where then is the gift of God's grace. The salvation in context here is that from dead works and separation from God and all thats required is 1. believe in your heart 2. confess what you believe as a demonstration of your convictions in the authenticity of the Lordship of Jesus Christ, that is your conviction in who He says He is and what He says He has done especially on the cross of calvary, if He says that through His blood on the cross, all your sins have being washed alway thus you don't have to strive in your effort to try to get them paid for rather you simply just accept it then all you do is accept how by faith and confess your convictions then you activate the contract. 3. ", shall be saved, " |
Chuksxp:tanx brother, l feel a sense of fulfilment hearing those words form you and good news is coming from chile with the minners sending their second video tape and made voice calls to their loved once though very short. l say a very big AMEN ! ! |
aletheia:That is not my concern, of what use is a so called answer when there still lies a need for explainations otherwise justify all the name calling, consistent unnecessary aguements etc |
almost everybody seem to agree with the fact that it is a combination of both faith and works that secures a man's salvation, and nobody is in anyway discrediting the fact that faith is a vital ingredient for Salvation but l think from critical observation that for Joeagbaje, he seem to be particular about the fact that though he does not discredit the place of works in the life of the Christian, he seem to insist on his claims that what he means is that for a man to be saved from spiritual death which is separation from God of which every man by virtue of Adam's sin was automatically a part of (Romans 5), such justification can only be obtained by faith according to Romans 5:1-2, this he insist is the message of grace thus he quoted ", by garce are ye saved not of works let's any man should boast, " At this justure l would kindly wish to summon his attention to the Interest of our curiosity regarding this claims, Because l would want to know is it that faith is the only reqirement to obtaining justification from dead works and separation from God? Or l have to prove myself qualified for it by my works and good deeds to obtain it? Or the works you seem to recognize are those that are of necessity after obtaining salvation by the singular act of faith as part of the day to day experience that is indicative of the Christian life, like good works of charity, arms giving, being honest and trust worthy, etc Please explain |
I have taken time to gladly review almost all of the several posts on this thread and l have come to the inference and conclusion based on observation that there obviously a case of misunderstanding, perhaps because of the choice of word usage. |
Thanks, as we pray for them, our prayer is that in moments like these let their hearts be drawn morethan ever to their need for God and total dependence on His will. proverbs 31:9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy. Job 29:12 12 Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him. psalm 72:12 For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper. proverbs 21:13 ¶ Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard. As you pray am saying a very big amen!!! |
l wish to send this invitation to all well meaning christians and all those who are particularly touched by the sufferings of the children who have been left homesless as a result of the floods in pakistan. Also as christians can we kindly channel our energies to say a word of prayer for those miners in chile who are trapped about 3,600fts in the earth. According to news sources it will take months to get to them, they have all grown dihydrated since the incident months ago. for as many that are touched by this appeal, lets pray. Thank you |
