I read a comment by Nuclear boy quoting from Eccl 9:11
and interpreting the expression "time and chance" to mean "luck"

No! firstly, l want to ask how?
Who said so?
l mean, the Hebrew words translated "time-eth" and"chance-pega", as used in this context does not by any permutative possibility denote or imply "luck" so am wondering where you could have source that out.

the words as a matter of fact, denote or could be paraphrased to perhaps the closest English expression to mean " an occassion of opportunity or an occassion which presence an opportunity".This is so because time and time again almost every man on the face of the earth is presented with perhaps the equal variables for taking advantage of the opportunities life presents to us though in the sequence of a circle,  thus there is what is known as "the circle of life". So the point where the majority miss it is the point of being sensitive enough to respond rightly to these opportunities when the occassion presence itself.

And more so for the christian the idea of luck does not exist. For God sake what makes the christian bears his identity is divine and not natural. Conseqently, he does not have the destiny of the natural man and the bible clearly reveals to us how that in christ Jesus God has granted us the ability and responsibility to regulate our experiences.

Epesians 3:20
"Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us"

the Grk word translated "worketh" is the word<energeo> which means  to be active, efficient:--do, (be) effectual (fervent), be mighty in, shew forth self, work (effectually in).
Its amazing, that God is only able to do all that we know Him to do (as far as the individual in concerned), within the jurisdiction of the power that is ", active" in US. i.e that miracle working ability that is of God though deposited in the man by virtue of the new birth in Christ Jesus, within the boundaries of how well it has been activated and effectual can be a tool in God's to do wonders. This is the mystery of the new birth experience.

This knowledge has kept me health, especially when the bible shows me that the Word of God is medicine "For they are life unto those that find them, and health <marpe'> to all their flesh. {health: Heb. medicine}

the Hebrew word translated health here is "marpe" meaning "medicine". So the Word of God is Medicine and life to my flesh. The gospel of Christ Jesus as witnessed by the aposstle paull in Romans 1:16 ", is the power of God to salvation, " thats why we must keep preaching.

nuclearboy:
"Morever, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work -this is a gift of God" Eccl 5:19

It is a gift not a right! Does everyone get the same gifts? Before you answer, think!

"I have seen something else under the sun: the race is not to the swift, or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise, or wealth to the brilliant, or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all" Eccl 9:11

Time and Chance (luck) not "name and claim"

"There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven" a time to be born and a time to die, a , , , . ., a time to weep and a time to laugh, , " Eccl 3:1

"Moreover, no man knows when his time will come" Eccl 9:12(a)

Combine Eccl 3:1 and Eccl 9:12 together and what do you get? There is apparently also a time to be rich and a time to be poor (since all things have a time) AND no man knows his OWN time. Confess and claim all you want - its rubbish. Time and chance are determined by God, not by you and the combination of time and chance are what is called "luck".

"sufferhead" as you call it is what Christians better than you faced that made the Apostles of Christ gather offerings for them. If you feel they were wrong, fine. The Apostles obviously didn't know as much as you, to your thinking, which is why they didn't shout at them to claim and become rich. And why do you have poor people in your church anyway since all are called into wealth? why are your members stealing society blind so chris embassy can pay for satellite coverage and chris can fry his hair? Or is he broiling it now? Why did the bank staff take 60 million? Was it because they were so rich they had NO money?

I am rich Joagbaje. SPIRITUALLY. In the flesh, I can give you what chris gives you but won't knowing I would only be supporting the laziness and sloth that made you his lackey in the first place. But I am not rich physically. All I have is held in trust for Christ and while I drive a nice vehicle, it belongs to me because He gave it to me. Thus it is not me that is rich but HIM in me. That is the wealth the Scripture talks of - what is truly available for God not what you siphon off innocent people in the name of God and use for yourself. Think - if you had a life, would you need the trappings of wealth, position and power to make yourself look good? No, because you would know you have real life. But because you're empty, decaying, stinking, you need to cover up with protestations and allusions to "blessings". A white-washed sepulchre, Christ called you!

But resembling who, slowpoke? Moses, the wealthy "god" of his people? Enoch who walked with God? Elijah, the fiery prophet? Isaiah, who saw visions that scared him? Jonah, who lived in a fish? David, who wanted to give all to God and was TOLD not to? Malachi, who rebuked the priests? Jesus HIMSELF, who had no place to lay His Head? Peter, the poor fisherman? Stephen, stoned to death for his testimony? Paul, who boasted in his infirmity and poverty? James, who said its not just mouth (as you do) but actions (which you run from)? John, banished to solitude on an island because of Christ yet gave a WEALTH (do you see what wealth can mean now?) of prophecy because of that?

OR

the Pharisees, the Sanhedrin, who had the high places, the adulation of men and "togetherness" against the truth as long as it brought them money, position, fame and the ears of Pilate thought they were slaves?

Dude, thats all you are - a slave to chris! Do you dare to say he's wrong about anything? ANYTHING? Hunger will kill you if you do cos you sold yourself out! Or you wish to say he's perfect? You're just so easy to upturn. Empty brain, mighty tummy. Worshipper of food and a lackey!

Meanwhile, knowing you're a certified and not wanting to insult you further, let me only briefly remind you that I never begged for anything from ogoamaka99. He offered in the same spirit of pride with which you postulate then cannot defend. My whole point in accepting his "fake" offer was to prove he was lying and it was achieved. The dude has tried to come back a couple of times but he had been exposed so he is always ignored or shown the hole in his head. I won't be suprised if he has a new id now on NL. At least, he has shame unlike you and for that, I give him credit. You are too far gone, it seems.  Keep sucking chris and lets see where you'll be in just three years time.
For God sake where is this man coming from?
If you don't understand who and what it means to be referred to as being a christian then l frankly would suggess that you should be humble enough to say, and summit yourself to the gracious opportunity this brilliant idea called "nairaland offers" and learn, remember ignorance is darkness.

The very first thing is to understand, clearly spell out and define the identity of the christian, because if you don't know who you are people are oblarged to tell you who you are  not.

The christian is an upspring of God Himself by virtue of the new birth in Christ Jesus (1John 4:4)"Ye are of <ek> God, little children, and have overcome them because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world".

it's important we note the use of the word "of" which is translated form the Grk word "ek", which is a primary preposition denoting origin (the point whence action or motion proceeds), from, out (of place, time, or cause

the origin of the christian is God and his/her experiences are by design same as those of his origin. The focus here is not on a christian being poor, sick, famous or wealthy lets not deviate. The focus is on christians experiencing persecutions and trials, which could be anything but our concern is what numenclature do we give and from what pespective do we view it.

Trials and persecutions for the "man" whose origin is God (christian) has nothing to do with sufferring at all, it would be an eronously misleading notion for anyone to hold on to any atom of an idea that even suggesses such possibilies, then God in all  the infintude of His wisdom would be remiss and wicked.

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. (1 peter 1:7)

And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God. (Zac 13:9)

For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried. (Psalm 66:10)

Well l think this portion of scripture explains it more for anyone  who sincerely seeks to know the truth about christian trials and persecutions
1 ¶ Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
2 Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth
4 So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:
5 ¶ Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you
7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power
10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
11 ¶ Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power
1Th 1:3; 2Th 1:5
12 That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Thessalonians 1:7-12)

The word translated "troubled" here in verse 1 is from the Grk word "thlibo", which means  to crowd (literally or figuratively):--afflict, suffer tribulation, trouble.

So if were to paraphrase for better understanding, the Apostle was invariably adddressing those who are "Sufferring Tribulations" and are "afflicted" not as sufferring in terms of sorrow but as a result of their continuous insisting on their convictions in that which they have come to believe in Christ Jesus which of necessity and according to promise comes with great reward
Christianity EtcRe: Faith? What Is It 2 u: by newmi(m): 11:08pm On Jul 24, 2010
in presenting a definition for faith as a concept, we must understand that as christians faith for us is what the word of God says it is consequently, there couldn't be any better and a more explicitly, understandably clear scriptural definition for faith other than that given to us in Hebrew 11:1. The kjv uses the expression ", substance of things hoped for, " that means faith is such that you can relate with the tangibility of that which is hoped for though as at yet remains unseen to the senses. I love the weymouth's new testament translation of the B part ", faith is, a conviction of the reality of things which we do not see" that means is calling real what the Word God says you are and have beyond the limitations that exist in the realms of our senses.
Now james 2:26 says that ", faith without works is dead", the 'works' here is not that that negates "grace" but rather that of a spontaneous action that is inspired by ", a conviction of the reality of things which we do not see" (wnt)
Christianity EtcRe: Who Is A True Man Of God? by newmi(m): 10:49pm On Jun 27, 2010
Jesus Christ is our perfect example and final reference because according to John 1:1 " In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.", He is the living Logos of Father God and the bible says that  ", in Him (the Word) all things consist, and He is before all things, " (col 1:17),

thus He becomes the true definition that mirrors reality to us with ragards to any gray area  of interest. Be that as it may, even our most beloved and revered master and saviour-Jesus Christ wasn't considered a true man sent from God by the religious socratises of His days, with all the good that He did ", how God anointed Jesus Christ of nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power who went about doing good and healing all them that was oppressed of the devil for God was with Him". in somuch the fact that they knew the scriptures concerning Him but their pride and envy was too precious an asset for them to let go in humble submission to the obvious writings on the wall that this was the Christ.
Very little has changed today, if they called Jesus Christ a devil " Joh 10:19There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.
Joh 10:20 And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?

they perhaps would be justified calling almost every "man of God" same clearly following in the footsteps of their fathers

Jesus Christ emphatically and unequivocally beared His mind in John 4:44 " For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country"

to this end l wish to subscribe to the "prophecy" of Joe Agbaje; that it might be  seemingly difficult if not impossible to get a sincerely, unreserved and trusted clearity of opinion of who a true man of God is defined by from a place like nairaland whose pages are being graced by men of extremely and versely devient school of thoughts whose foundations have no bearing in the Word of God.

A TRUE MAN OF GOD IS DEFINED BY THE WORD!!! SO RESEACH YOUR BIBLE- SEEK YOU WILL FIND, KNOCK AND THE DOOR WILL BE OPEN TO YOU,

for me a particular note of ineterest is that, of what use it is to the body of christ that a man with all of the supposed resource of knowledge either acquired or obtained by divine revelation still what really counts to Father God-souls is not considered.

The kingdom of darkness is working tirelessly and relentlessly round the clock to lure as many as possible to hell knowing that he has but a short time while the majority of us seat here and expend useful enegies aguing and plexing the strength of knowledge without a view on eternal values. If you repectable men think that "its a book of error" then write your own and get busy winning souls thus enhancing your relevance to the body.

Christianity EtcThe Bornagain Man: Who Is He by newmi(op): 9:37pm On May 02, 2010
This topic has been of great concern to me considering the fact that for the most part very many persons have diviant views on this topic.

Firstly, it is important to say that the Bible is our standard for defining anything not the experience of any man. The term "Bornagain" actually has its origin from scriptures and from the mouth of the most credible and trusted personality that has ever graced this earth- Jesus Christ (John 3:3 " Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God"wink. and then in the book of 1 pet 1:23 we see the re-occurance of the expression "bornagain" as used by the Apostle Peter " Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever".

Also in 1 peter 1:3 " Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again
unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead"

Now the deductions are :
Firstly, the mere connotation of the expression "bornagain" brings to the mind of a right thinking individual the idea that once there was a giving birth-to thats why there's an "again". John 1:12-13 " But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God".

There's actually the first birth which according to scripture is of blood and according to the will of the flesh (i.e according to the custom of the natural cause of giving birth).
But the second which in this regard is being bornagain is according to scripture is to be born of God and God is a Spirit so that by implication means the its spiritual. Yes! believe it.

someone might say how can this be just like mary said to the Angel, the answer is in the very scripture above
John 1:12-13 " But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God

then Romans 10:9-10 " That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation". wow! thats as simple as it sounds

to be saved is to bornagain (i.e you now have your origin in God and from God), to be bornagin is to be a new creation 2 Cor 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new".

at this point permit me to invite you to the family of God as you accepts Christ's salvation and become bornagain
Christianity EtcRe: What It Means To Be "born Again"! by newmi(m): 6:05pm On Apr 29, 2010
Enigma:
@ newmi

OK, I have already "accepted" (or at least I am "agreeing" now) that Liardon, Haggard and Crouch are not sinners.

My question is a much simpler one (and I hope with this post it will be yet simple enough for you and your fellow CEC members/WoFers to understand).

Are Liardon, Roberts, Crouch (who are not sinners because they are "born again" and forgiven) greater than Elijah, Moses, Abraham and John the baptist?

Additionally, are Moses, Elijah etc learning from Liardon, Haggard and Crouch?

Additionally, are Moses, Elijah etc made perfect by Liardon, Haggard and Crouch?

Again, remember that I have "agreed" with you that Liardon, Haggard and Crouch are not sinners.

Are the questions simple enough for you (and other CEC members WoFers) now?
Now am immensely humbled that you'r gracious enough to find a place of concord with all that l said at least its better than just aguing coz l strongly believe like me you as well as the rest of the members of this forum are not in anyway so less busy that they don't know what better ways to invest their time (which is a gift of trust) other than to lavishly expend it on fruitless attempts and efforts to convince others which most times ends in mild insults and ugly aguements. tanx cheesy cheesy

Firstly, the individuals whose names you have higlighted above are individuals who in their own rights are "working out their own salvation, with all fear and trembling, " and for the most part, salvation is personal. But l think what you should rather bring in view is the "New Creation". The New creation was God's secret plan such that Holy men of God and prophets some of which youn have listed above spoke about as they where moved by God's Spirit (2 peter 1:21- For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost)

the questin of the new creation being superior to all the prophets of the O.T. is not to any discredit or ignorminy to them rather its a plus credited to them as a crowning glory for all their effort and labour. Now Hebrews 11 will be of ultermost interest for the most fact becoz it highlights with pride to all of us in the body of Christ the successful "faith-walk" of those on whose shoulders we are built (", we are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets and Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone, "wink, now Heb 11:39-40 "And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided some BETTER THINGS FOR US, that they without us should not be made perfect

Christianity EtcRe: What It Means To Be "born Again"! by newmi(m): 4:30pm On Apr 29, 2010
OK if he is a child of God; that means he is born-again right; so he only has to ask for forgiveness and he is unlike those not born again who are "dead in their sin" and cannot get forgiveness, right? (all these according to your WoF theology)

OK as Roberts Liardon is a born-again man who can get forgiveness because he is born again, is he, like you and opaks Oyaks,

Now thats a quote from one of Enigma's post.
Mr. Enigma its Amazing how that you'r all fluent in analytically enumerating the supposed "mistake" of people like Richard Liardon, Paul Crouch etc, but perhaps you haven't read the words of Romans 14:4 "Who are you that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standsth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for GOD IS ABLE TO MAKE HIM STAND".

The christian in view of making a "mistake" cannot be summoned up and tagged to be a sinner, infact thats a grievious insult becos its a discredit to the reality of the God nature in him by the Holy Spirit. l think the problem with alot of people (amonst whom l presume mr. Enigma and a host of his supporters are chief ) don't yet understand the very nature of the heart of Father God.

Nobody said that the christian is not liable to make a mistake, little wonder why the apostle paul said in Eph 4:11 that we have been given APOSTLE;, PROPHETS; EVANGELISTS; PASTORS AND TEACHERS FOR THE PERFECTING OF THE BODY OF CHRIST.

1 john 2:1 "My little children, these things write l unto you, that you sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous"

mr. enigma shall we begin to count your "sins", well don't be sorry it won't be necessary am not that unprofitable business cheesy

The bible discourages believers from GIVING to those who have, see the book of proverbs
enriching your man of God will make him loose God's task.

1. Elisha warned Gehazi not to receive anything from people God used him to cure.
2. Jesus discouraged his disciples from taking luxuries along with them into evangelism in order not to loose focus.

infact let us ask ourselves if JESUS will classify us like this if he was here? huh
giving to a man of God is not to enrich him(the man of God) but rather to enrich the giver. You give to a man of God for your own blessing and not to bless him

Enigma:
Your "Pastor Chris" is simply a heretic leading people directly into the arms of satan. Keep deceiving yourself about "milk" and "bones" and denigrating Christ's own pillars like Peter and James.
what makes you so convinced such that you could boldly and openly declare that Pastor Chris is doing what you alleged that he's doing
well with your level of theology and spirituality you should be able to provide credible scripturally based evidence to back-up your convinctions.
at least we understand from scripture some of the vital things to look out for inorder to determine if a so called  "man-of-God" is actuallypreaching Christ or heressy like you alleged.

1 John 4:1-3,vs 6 "¶ Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

vs ",  6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error"

1 cor 12:3 "Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost." {accursed: or, anathema}

2 pet 2:1 "But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction."

1 John 2:21-23 :1 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

1 John 4:15 " Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God", you see my dear there are a numerable scriptures available to us thus arming us with all the necessary tools and mechinery in determining whether sure and sure

is a man-of God he or she claims to be.and l think this might interest you to know l have not seen Pastor Chris fall short aof any of these and more rather he has been in the forefront of the those championing greater courses for the gospel of Jesus Christ in the nations of the world.

its a very big shame to still see people in this present age and time in the development of the human mind both secularlly and spiritually, openly display their ignorance not with the right attitude to satisfy their sincerely innocent curiosity but with an arrogant audacity of immeasurable folly. Anyway thats what you get when you leave the floor open for every tom, dick and harry to share their opinion thats the beauty of a social network.

Matthew 6:21 "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also". l mean no disrespect to gbanga but from all that he had said the writting on the wall is simple to interprete: you are not and have never been a member of christ embassy.

if you have come to accept the church of Christ for what she is being the pilar and ground of truth, there couldn't be any other treasure thats worth committing your heart to.

perhaps you should know this very important fact: the gospel is free but in to day's world its expensive and thats why we can't be small becoz the world must here this message of the gospel of Jesus according to pastor Chris

great thread!!
the problem with alot of "christian" is that hardly have come to terms with the very purpose and essence which neccesitated the birth, death, burial and eventual magnificent and gloriously triumphant ressurection of Jesus Christ let alone "non christians" who infact are by no means qualified to discuss issues regarding the church of Christ.

Jesus defines His purpose in one occassion; John 10:10  "The thief cometh not but for to steal and to kill and to destroy I am come that they might have life <zoe>, and that they might have it more abundantly <perissos>. (KJV) Jesus Christ defines His purpose ", that we might have life, " the greek word translated "life" here is the word "zoe" which is the God kind of life in quality. little wonder the offer was made in John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life <zoe>. (KJV). this was the "grand offer" so when a man is born again by the share vocal expression of his heart felt convictions in the gospel and Lordship of Jesus Christ that person at that self same moment is inducted into the Kingdom of God's dear Son "Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear son" colosians 1:13  He has delivered us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, (RSV)thus enabling that man to participate in "the God Experience" verse 12 "Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet(qualified) to be partakersof the inheritance of the saints in light", or like the apostle Peter puts it in 2 peter 1:4 ", that by these ye might be partakers of His divine nature having escaped the corruption thats in world through lust" what else can you call this experiencial participation by a man in that which is divine other than a "super human"

great thread!!
the problem with alot of "christian" is that hardly have come to terms with the very purpose and essence which neccesitated the birth, death, burial and eventual magnificent and gloriously triumphant ressurection of Jesus Christ let alone "non christians" who infact are by no means qualified to discuss issues regarding the church of Christ.

That explains why he said ", and have it more abundantly, " the greek- "perissos" which to a large extent imply a sense of superiority in terms of quality

The despicable use of the gospel to falsely needle the poor of their money is sad.
what makes financial givings in church so peculiar that it tends to command so much attention most of which are a grand shameful display of the dept of the ignorance that has eaten deep into the religious church into the deem-light zone of poverty and penury. when people make a giving at the native doctor's shrine or politicians make mega financial contributions nobody says anything, the truth is that most of this people are helping to fulfill satan's agenda of discredition the church Christ Jesus. the truth of the matter is that whether anybody likes it or not the Church as the pillar, ground as well as the custodian of the truth can not successfully make known the message of the gospel of Christ Jesus.

Zec. 1:17 "cry yet, saying, thus say the Lord of host; my cities through properity shall be spread abroad, "

the message of the gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ is in fact FREE but SHEY THIS IS WHAT MOST PEOPLE WANT TO HEAR: ITS NOT CHEAP!!

Christianity EtcRe: How Do We Pray Over Meal: Bless This Food Oh Lord! by newmi(m): 8:53pm On Mar 09, 2010
The biblical and mature prayer over food is thanksgiving. It is an expression of faith which indirectly says "Lord i recognise this food came from you and I thank you for it" That is how to sanctify food. All the places Jesus prayed over food he never said " Father bless and sanctify this food" but rather he gave thanks.

When he fed thousands even though the food was small but when he gave thanks ,God's pressence came on it.

Matthew 15:36
And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

At the communion table, he did thesame thing.

Matthew 26:27
And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;

1 Tim. 4:3-4
Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. [4] For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

Whatever you recieve with thanksgiving is sanctified.

thank you Sir, at last enough of all those useless, meaningless, senseless and childish prayers

Christianity EtcDoes Going Green Imply Becoming A Vegetarian by newmi(op): 8:52pm On Mar 04, 2010
the world today is confronted with a problem called "Global Warming" consequently, in some quarters it is believed that going green is the solution but does going green mean becoming a vegetarian becos there are some people or groups who have made a doctrine form this and infact commanding to abstain from meat as an act of worship and service to God. the is clear about this 1 Tim 4:1-5
there's a growing demand for more and more people to become vegetarians not particularly as a nutritional measure but as an act of religious worship and doctrine under the cover of "going green"

HYPOCRITES!
Christianity EtcRe: Is It Proper To Label Pastors As Crooks? by newmi(m): 11:10pm On Jan 22, 2010
First, its amazing how people fail to recognize how that the church is not their family business, her ideals are not subject to their personal opinions rather on the guidelines enshrined within the pages of her Holy book (the Bible). The institution of the church as it were is spiritual and consequently runs on the dictates of core spiritual principles. why every so often the issue of money is raised with the church in view, people majority of whom are ignoramus and blantant enviable novices are quick to seize the opportunity to raise dust of fawl views.

the office of the pastor in the body of christ is one great responsibility of immeasurable trust, its a CALLING, now l don't expect every tom, dick and harry to understand that anyway but its one of the ministry gifts spoken of in Ephesians 4:11-13 "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, PASTORS and teachers, "

and then interestingly, the verses following after clearly reveals to us the purpose of these gifts; ", for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of christ(the church), "

one famous writter once said that people frawn at what they are ignorant of and they critize what they don't understand and issues that borders on the existence of the church is no different.

why assume a responsibility God hasn't given you, its not in the trust of any man to judge a said "man of God" or pastor a crook, No! didn't you hear that its a calling, explicitly implying that theres a caller which in this case is God as it were? how then can you label a "man God" a crook, no you don't give a man a name that God has not given him.

this verse of scripture might be of immense interest to those who sympathetically are less spiritually inclined -Romans 14:4 Question"Who art thou that judges another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: fro God is able to make him stand" (KJV) but lets view it from another newer translation- " Who are you to condemn Gods' servant? They are responsible to the Lord, so let Him tell them whether they are right or wrong. The Lords power will help them do as they should" (TNLT)

finally for now, its a calling, IF NO BE YOU CALL AM THEN SHORT UPYOUR MOUTH AND WORK OUT YOUR OWN SALVATION WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING (philippians 2:12), well thats if you understand what a calling is at all. tanx
