You can never convert a man by aguement! ! ! This is a fact. your concern as a socratic and mature discussant is to take advantage of the golden opportunity to introduce your inputs and comments on issues of significant interest to you, satisfied with the fulfilment of having a platform to gladly share your thoughts and ideas with a much more wider scope of reference beyond even your imagination can possibly grasp. of what use is it, to spend precious time and energy trying to convince someone who has consciously accepted to be unpersuaded and refusing to humbly submit to the correction of a guniue and obvious truth though in deviance from their preconceived disposition. It is simply ludacris to attempt to do the impossible l would rather spend even a granulated fraction of a second of that time perhaps sleeping or taking a nap at least that would reguvinate by body. You can lead the horse to the river but you can't force her to drink, for all the reasonable contributors in this forum, wouldn't you rather invest your time like a business man rather than spending it trying to "force the horse to drink from the river" so these aguement, accussations and counter accussations isn't necessary, drop your well thought and pains-taken-to-draft contributions and anybody who doesn't agrees with it ok na him sa bi, lets move ahead and bear our minds on other issues of significant importance. Thank you well meaning NLanders. |
Enigma:As much as l take no sides in this forum because taking sides with a man has always proven to be futile considering the fact that it is not in man to always remain constant, God is the only being thats a "constant" thus deserving of my allegience, l have always stressed in this forum that as much as you could disagree with another, nobody and l make bold to unequivocally say it again nobody is granted the luxiarious position of judging another and l think by now this scripture should have made some sense to our good interlectual minds Roman 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. never find yourself even attempting to taking God's place in judgement! |
The Clown:thank you very much, now somebody is sounding like there's hope for any sense coming out of this discuss. But now we have discovered the sorry state of christianity, we need SOLUTIONS. And for me solution is in the form of all parties channelling their God-given energies towards those issues that are of paramount importance rather than dwelling on areas of minority concerns and that does not edify. |
googles:crazy is an understatement, perhaps the most appropriate piece of expression that would best describe such and act is to call it "a delusional display of madness of the first degree. |
Pastor AIO: Joagbaje:lol ![]() |
Pastor AIO: Joagbaje:hey! hey! calm down guys, let us not give branches to a tree which does not exist. This is a peace discuss forum. una don hear! ! ! ![]() |
if this sotry is true, why would someone in his or her right mind would gladly accept the symphaty of the pain and tumoil of cancer. It's insane and grossly delusional. |
chukwudi44:Who would that be? ![]() am an independent commntor base on my instinct of interest, l owe nobody but Christ not even the least allegence on NL, if you sound reasonably logical in consistency with the principles of the gospel as prescribed by the scriptures well then you win my support. ![]() chukwudi44:Well if must know l had no such intent for that scripture to be reserved for anybody including you my honourable contributor, l was prompted to introduce that scripture in the singular attempt to make all see that we need not dwell on the paul in the body of saul because that would have no significant bearing on us today, all of those details were historical fact, our emphasis today should rather be hindged on the present truth about these men on whose foundations we have been built and hawned in the gospel |
Pastor AIO:please l would appreciate not to be dragged into muddy waters, be that as it may though, l believe the challenge here is in the use of words. It is inappropriate for anyone to make such comparisms using such expressions like such and such person is a superior christian than such and such other person, no we are not granted such expensive leaverages. On what grounds for instance? the walk of faith is for the most part person. my emphasis here is simple-let us disassociate ourselves from expending so much of our God-given energies on less relevant and largely unimportant issues and concentrate on the aspect of us being built and raised on the foundations that has been laid down by these men. Consequently, THIS ASPECT OF THIS DISCUSS IS A WASTE!!! |
chukwudi44:Please can some people just simply wake form their prolonged slumber? the expression ", Even Paul himself did not believe in christianity at the very beginning, " is inconsequencial. For God sake what bearing does that have on this topic of discuss, when the apostle paul himself revealed to us by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit ", that if a man be in Christ he is a new creation, " 2 corinthians 5:17 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. |
KunleOshob:hey! hey! young man don't switch mode and become hostile, hmmmmmm se you dey hear! at least pretend to be nice. |
The present truth now is not for us be debating on the issue of individuals, be it Paul or James, the underlinning factor with regards to our faith is summarised simply the scripture below: Eph 2:20-22 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. regardless of their difference which is of necessity expected perhaps because of variance in experiences but like l said the common denominator for us is that we are "BUILT", and that should be the emphasis. |
Just another example of the disunity within the body: I go to a church that was bringing in a 'celebrated' US gospel artist into town for a one-day concert. As part of the whole publicity effort for the event, it was advertised on radio, tv, posters, etc. They sent a batch of flyers to other churches in the city to help promote the event. One church in particular returned the flyers - because they weren't the 'first' to bring this artist to this city. Approx 6 months later, they had an event of their own and they then invited this same person to come sing. Their initial reluctance to publicise the first church's event had nothing to do with anything they had against the singer, or the church even. Twas just unclothed, raw bellus. That my friends is a typical example of what we have to deal with in today's "church".
My dear omo-fat as much as understand your perculiar view point with regards ur post above, l must be quick to point out that such senerios do not vivdily define biblical idea of disunity in the body. Because there could be number of reason why an individual might opt rather to do evrything but attend another denomination's organised event thus its relative and personal. but based on principle, disunity in the body these scriptures: Eph 4:12-13 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: {in: or, into} {stature: or, age} You see my dear, the apostle paul uses the expression ", untill we all come in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, ", that sounds like ", we have not yet come, " or what do you think? we presently do all have a common ground though not on all issues but on some specific and sensitive issues. for instance, some believe in infant baptism some others do not, they insist that an individual must first be grown up and mature enough to perhaps understand the enormity and rlevance of whta he or she is getting involve in, some believe in speaking in tongues some others do not, some believe in meditaton others do not, etc thank you! |
l've often thought that one of the best and effective means for a man to win the admeration and affection of his spouse is for that man to possess a good skill at preparing dishes. Most ladies are always more than ready to show-off their man who has great pedigree in the kitchen perhaps for a good number of reason, one of it could be that in the event of their pregnancy or eventual delivery such skill would prove to be immensely important and l do share their thoughts. |
zenatta:Sure they do and very big ones at that, ![]() and perhaps significantly big, razor sharp, skin-piercing and born cracking teeth too ![]() |
If this were euro then this question would have been much more appreciatively logical, but be that as it may though because of the pride and ego of many boys today culmiating in their refusal to humbly help out at the kitchen questions like this one has become relatively necessary. ![]() |

Pastor Chris is Christ Embassy, Pastor David Oyedepo is living faith, the both day names don't sound alike, with due respect to both |
of what difference will it make having Pastor Chris Oyakhilome preaching in Pastor David Oyedepo's church, there is no scriptural injuction which spells that such should be done as a measure of showing unity or disunity in believe in one God. Also what eternal value does such an activity bring to the members. We shouldn't allow ourselves to be dragged into an unnecessarily, unreasonably unedifying piece of discuss there are perhaps much more weightier issues we could afford to spend our time on, such that thereafter we would be strengthened and edified as christians not allowing a few confused, disoriented and logically inbalanced minds miss lead us with there miserable posts which are nothing but an expression of their frustrated idleness. thank you |
The old testerment is a shadow of the new. for instance, most of the prophets who prophesized of the birth of Jesus Christ, his death, ressurection, ascenssion and even his return in glory after the rapture of the saints. Psalms 22, gives us an insight into His dying moments. Psalms 23, gives us an insight into His actual death Psalms 24, gives us the insight into His ressurection also we can also see God through the mouth of the Prophet David (who also was a king) giving us an insight into the emergence of certain breed of peoplewho are to sufface by virtue of new birth by the ressurection of Jesus Christ from the grave. Psalms 22 30 A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. Ps 87:6 GBN ACC FBN JFB JWN TOD TSK 31 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this. Psalms 102 18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD. Romans 3 21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Joh 5:46; Ac 15:11; 26:22; Ro 1:2,17; Php 3:9; Heb 11:4; 1Pe 1:10 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: The issue of tithe is no different as well its a show of our committment to God's involvement and role in our lives. Tithing for the christian is one of God's measures of securing the prosperity of His saints. it is a show of our recognition of our source with regards to our provision. so am sorry its not an issue of being brain watched |
nuclearboy:l gave you scriptures to to ponder on all you could do is shy away tactically with an attempt to raise an unproductive aguement. Hmmmmm sorry |
nuclearboy:hahaha ![]() |
nuclearboy:am not in the business of calling the names of men of God beacuse " Who are you that you should find fault with the servant of another? Whether he stands or falls is a matter which concerns his own master. But stand he will; for the Master can give him power to stand."(Romans 14:4) l don't have time engaging in dialogues that are unlucrative and which does not promise any hope of bringing about a change in the life of another. It is pathetically sad that amongst several things all you could decode and extract from my posts is a sorry list of satistics giving you preferencial attention. Well my young man l was just responding to posts l considered interesting in an attempt to realize the vision of this idea called NL as a veritable forum for knowledge acquisition and meaninful dialogue, except you do not consider any of your post to interesting ae all deserving any attention. Finally if you are looking for attention, sorry my friend am busy!!! anybody who wants meaninful discussion is invited, but be that as it may, l hold no ill feels. God bless you |
newmi:There is no where in scripture where we are brought to the awareness that sure things as the "prophet's reward" is extinct, no none!!! rather we see Jesus Christ making a very profound statement in Matthew 10:41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. and perhaps the Waymouth New Translation will help to communicate it in a better light Every one who receives a prophet, because he is a prophet, will receive a prophet's reward, and every one who receives a righteous man, because he is a righteous man, will receive a righteous man's reward There is indeed such things as "prophet's reward" in the christian faith, if you have any deviant opinion, then kindly express it in scripture otherwise it remains your personal idea and should be left to you and the jurisdiction of your fantacies. |
nuclearboy:. Firstly who said so, where in the scripture were we brought to sure awareness? You see there are a whole lot of persons in NL though on the minority, who are sincerely seeking veritable answers to their hearts questions and they consider this avenue. 1 Thessalonians 5 12 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; 13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves. perhaps l should note that the source Greek word from whence "esteem" was interpreted in this context is the word " hegeomai" which means TO CONSIDER so the apostle paul was admonishing such persons should be CONSIDERED not just highly but very highly Philippians 2 9 Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation: {hold, : or, honour such} 1 Timothy 5 17 ¶ Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. Hebrews 13 7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. {have the rule: or, are the guides} 8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. |
this has been a much anticipated move for our dear osaze. Am a strong supporter of this gifted player we wish him the best |
l just have one question for nuclearboy which is- would you consider yourself an emblem of a true christian, if yes what are your candid considerations and qualifications so that many others can emulate. thank you ![]() |
Is it just me or did anyone else have a problem making any sense out of this post
what are you insinuating? ![]() ![]() |
The story of Bisi Alimi is indeed a very pathetic one, it is as a matter of fact one dose of a series of calculated measures to seek more flexible room of expression for this "munster with the face of an angel", that has systematically eaten up the moral fabric of the european family and social strutural heritage and morethan ever we are seeing an increased amount of these so called "freedom of expression" or "human right" activists steming up in South America especially with the unfolding events coming out from Agentina. Nigeria watch out!!! ![]() all these are not mere co-inccidence. These are a well-calculated string of activities all serving as a means to an end which is to successfully permiate the various cracks of our socio-economic, political, religious and cultural framework. Thus on the long run acreditted with the achievement of finally dissintigrating our family values to an abysmal state of gross jeopardy. for God sake people minds have become twisted, why would God create a man and also deem it necessary to create a woman with their individual unique body features customized for his adequate adaptation to all his necessary activities accompanying his existance. once again NIGERIA BEWARE! BEWARE!! BEWARE!!! |
Let one thing be made clear in this forum that it will a gross miss-placement and an abysmal gratification of ignorance for anyone to downplay on the credibility of the office of the "parent" to bless but be that as it may many of those who have stood out in the support for parents have not in anyway made any pleasant or gratifying remark to at least justify the office of the pastor, l hope this is not an attempt to discredit it. because there are some people in this forum who have never said anything good about the office of the pastor and you wonder if they have pastors over them or the same Bible they claim to expain in the defence of their view points doesn't say anything about the place of the pastor in the life of the christian in the church. |
perhaps l should be more specific in terms of context, in the case of a wedding service, who is more rightly positioned to pronounce the blessing on the newly wed couples. Well since the institution of marriage is the brain child of God, thus the "man of God" as a representative of the author (God) is much more rightly positioned to pronounce the blessing. l would find time to expantiate in a later post with details. |
