Hi everyone,

My dad's application was approved today. Applied on the 15th of October, Biometrics done 23rd October. Biometrics Validity letter update 19th of Dec (don't understand the purpose of this letter), Passport request letter received 20th Dec. I thank God. It was silence all through, and they stuck to the 64 days timeline. E be like say dem remain say Christmas na next week and they rushed it out.

So, for those that have used VFS Lagos, I know that someone can submit the passport for him, but can someone collect on his behalf. He is not in Lagos and I don't want him spending flight money to go and collect the passport. The VFS site states that someone can collect for him but I have heard from people that they don't allow it. Can someone with experience confirm please? Also, where can I download the VFS Consent form? I can't find it anywhere on their site.

Thanks.

Lol. Them no born me born NOC naa. The fit didn't jump right at me and I don't think he or she wants to make a VO find it diffucult too. Those ones are overwhelmed, they are just looking for yeye reasons to be refusing people's applications. Na rewording sure pass. If he/her has the liberty to.
ans123:
Greetings Newmun.....not to question constituted authority......lol. grin
He actually fits into 1123. I just think he needs to rephrase his JD to align accordingly.Experiential marketing agencies are specialists who create experiences for brands/organization, publicize activities/events and manage execution end to end.

That NOC 1123(Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations) covers 3 distinct job functions so it is not possible that all the JD on CIC NOC is covered on his reference letter.

Experiential marketing is part of the entire marketing ecosystem, he just needs to work around it.

@Curious you may want to Google Account Manager JDs and see which ones you can add/subtract to your letter then compare it with some of CIC's. You can then share it here.

Exactly what he needs to do. Reword a little bit. Let him not make it hard for the VO. Those people are on overdrive these days with refusing applications for rubbish reasons. I am not sure they do in depth reviews sometimes. Nobody should give them a reason.
Topsmamen:

My Newmum smiley. At first, i thought so too on the business consultancy or advertising/PR bits. He might have to coin some words to tailor-fit them into appropriately matching NOC 1123. I combed the entire NOC list and the closest I could find was 1123. I think his JD fits more into 1123 than any other NOC.

Great. Then you may need to reword your JD a little bit. It doesn't jump out at one the way it is. Use certain words to make it stick out.

Honestly, I can't really see 1123 in this JD yet. I still dey look am one kain. Maybe it's the sleep that is worrying me sha.

Are you a ...specialist in advertising, marketing and public relations who analyses, develops and implements communication and promotion strategies and information programs, who analyses advertising needs and develops appropriate advertising and marketing plans, publicizes activities and events, and maintain media relations on behalf of businesses, governments and other organizations...? If yes, then ok, but if that is not your overall job experience, please look elsewhere. Your JD seems to be more of a business development consultancy than a PR or advertising type of thing. I may be wrong though, but na my opinion.

curious123:
Please find JD below,

*Overall management of the Client Services team members to maintain an efficient and engaging work
*Mentor and coach team members, providing educational opportunities, constructive feedback, and guidance for their development
*Respond to briefs my developing plans, budget as well as presentations to win pitch
*Identify new business
*Ensure projects are executed in line with requirements of clients
*Liaise with COO and other department heads to create systems for improved workflow and communication, and to address operational issues and challenges
*Stay abreast of industry trends and inspire the team to grow and expand their knowledge
*Attend client meetings and act as point of escalation for any client project issues
*Participate in brainstorming sessions with project teams throughout concept development and help to develop programming and strategy for each project that meets client goals and objectives

Thank you

Lol. I can relate bro. After my husband spent $40 just to have a haircut and beard shaping, I got a clipper and I have been doing it for both him and our son. I don turn beard carver and shaper sef. Canada is a DIY country in a lot of ways. If not, expenses go show you pepper.
einsteino:

No too look my expenses o, rent can be cheaper by 40% in other cities. Yeah by family of 1, I mean just me. As for the hair, I didn't start out hoping to look good, just neat. hair cut is $20 and I usually have to cut my hair every week, so I figured if I buy a clipper it would pay itself in a few weeks and I would be saving $80 per month after that. Another thing is that it was quite an inconvenience having to find time to go to the barber. Right now whenever I feel like having a haircut, I get it without worrying about open hours or wait lines. How do I do it? I have a wall mirror and a hand mirror, with both I am able to see all sides of my head. As you may have guessed, I don't bother to do anything fancy, just good old lowcut. Its my beard that I am able to do more on since I have full visibility of my face. Do I look good in it? hehe no be Gorimapa 2face carry? Would a barber do much better? Sure! and even sef I made the decision in the winter wey all man dey use cap and hoodie take cover their head sef.

Mehn it would be great if you know how to cut hair professionally, I do see "Barber wanted" signs at some Barber shops.

No wonder. I knew something was wrong. I noticed some craziness with the NOCs I have been working on and I thought something was wrong with my memory or they really did an update on them, but I know they were never like that before. Good to know that they are aware. There have been several reported refusals based on NOCs in recent times. I hope this is not the cause.
Mamaroon:
After xtosync shared (see...something good has come out of your experience already and more good is on the way for you)......I went back to my chosen NOCs and noticed one had changed and had an error...it was a 100% match before..... now it was showing something bizarre...filled the contact us form online and got this email. We may want to use this to check NOCs
