This is the true story of a great people, in a land flowing with milk and honey. Since independence on October 1st 1960, our government have enslaved us even though we thought we'd got freedom from the colonialist. They steal from us and give us nothing in return. We toil, they eat; we cry, they smile; we cater for our basic needs, and also for theirs with our tax. Government after government impoverished us, yet we kept sealed lips, now they've removed oil subsidy so that we can die. They have the guns, we have the guts, and we shall fight until we see the light, arise Nigerians say no to oil subsidy removal.

Politics › Re: Sng Concludes Plans For Protest Against Corruption by nex(m): 4:53pm On Feb 06, 2012
I was there during Occupy Nigeria, I came out everyday, I didn't relent. I will come out and protest with Tunde Bakare, even though I'm opposed to some of his views, but as long as I know that his intentions are pure, and he'll stand till the end, I will be there with him.

The issues I have though with these protests:

1. They should be held in Abuja
2. There should be no "leader" else, if they are taken out, the struggle will collapse.
3. When we say we will protest till we see the change we want, we should stick to exactly those terms.

I will come out, I will make a change. The rest of you have no right to sit back. It's your country too!

Webmasters › Re: Nigeria - 3rd Twitter Nation In Africa by nex(m): 4:56pm On Jan 27, 2012
First off, most Nigerians don't set the location they are tweeting from. For example myself. If not, I will show you some of my Twitter followers who have had more than 50,000 tweets in the last 3 months. I kid ye not.

Secondly, we have Nairaland, we should be putting out data on how many South Africans, Egyptians, and Americans are on Nairaland. It is a shame that our President, Governors, and Ministers have chosen foreigm public address systems to show that they are in touch with Nigerians. It's a very big shame!

Instead of us to put out statistics that will taunt citizens of other countries to patronize all good things Nigerian, we are here allowing ourselves to be hoodwinked by that marketing gimmick. It is even the more saddening that Nairaland will put this on its homepage. Goodluck Nigeria!

Politics › Re: Dictionary Definition Of PALLIATIVE - You May Be Shocked! by nex(m): 6:31pm On Jan 17, 2012
I was very much alarmed by the way they were using that Palliative word.

I read a paper which my father-in-law wrote for a conference on Palliative Medicine, and all it was talking about was "how to lead the dying gently and kindly unto their death".

So I wonder for IMF, GEJ and his squad. Is our death soon?!
Politics › Re: A Soldier Killed This Boy In Benin City this morning by nex(m): 11:41am On Jan 11, 2012
The government has seen that for the first time, this is a real fight staged by the poor against the rich; by the oppressed, against the oppressor, and they have no choice but to introduce the only thing that can turn the oppressed on themselves: ethno-religious differences.

Who told the Benin boys to raid the Hausa quarters and loot their foreign exchange?! And before any idiot tries to bare the tribal stone against me, I am from Edo state. Who Identified the soldier as a Hausa soldier?

Was it also a Hausa soldier who shot the boy in Ogba, Lagos? Was it a Fulani soldier who shot the one in Oshodi, Lagos? Was it a Calabar soldier who shot the man in Ilorin? Was it an Igbo soldier who shot the men in Kano?!

We better get our heads straight and realize we are fighting a very formidable enemy whose main defence is religion and tribalism. Don't start falling for it already. We have a long way to go.

Politics › Re: Fuel Subsidy Withdrawal: Nlc And Tuc Mobilizes For Street Demonstrations by nex(m): 2:40pm On Jan 02, 2012
LET'S USE THIS #FUELSUBSIDYREMOVAL TO START PRACTICING THIS DEMOCRACY OF A THING. IT GOES BEYOND VOTING! Let's call on our Reps and Senators to remove GEJ, the ones who do not heed, 2/3 of registered voters in their constituencies will sign a petition to INEC stating that they want to recall that Senator or Representative, and replace with another till we get in our civil servants who will obey our orders.

It is after that we will then commence on street protests and go after the dictatorship which our elected government has now become. You do not begin with protests.
Politics › Re: Breaking News: Fuel Subsidy Removed by nex(m): 7:20pm On Jan 01, 2012
My fellow Nigerian compatriots, long has it been since I inked ye a parchment for the namesake of our battered motherland.

I never intend to sever your ears from the music you love so much, nor your glued vision off your twitter TimeLine, neither you BlackBerries, and your new year merries do I aim to divorce you from.

I'd hoped that I would happen upon you all holding hands, singing 'Kumbaya' while breathing the fresh air which you so longed for, or basking in the Luck of Mainasara, Azikiwe, Omoluabi who had no shoes. Alas, here you lay weeping over the shrapnel of littered bombs; groaning under the weight of a multiplier fuel costs.

I'd wished that I could wish you all a 'Happy New Year', not like you wish did, but with a genie's lamp, or a wizard's staff, or anything magical that could quicken my words and make them last.

Howbeit that 2010, and 2011, the years of bounty, we spent in lack. This year at hand will fare no milder without toil. Not a Dinar will earned but with the plough oxed.

I kid ye not comrades, there are no excesses lying around anymore to stumble upon. All man, woman and child must demand what rightfully is theirs, or lie down and be trampled on to death.

Just the other day, while pondering about the issues in the government's agenda, I read about the Total Crude Oil Reserves of Nigeria hovering at 30 billion barrels which at $70 results to N2,000,000 per Nigerian citizen. Yet, they're more fixated on ripping off the little affordability we benefit. Today, I hear we're not only being denied more, but we have been ordered to pay for the failures of government in refining petroleum products locally.

However, ignore all that and peek at the Total Natural Gas Reserves of Nigeria exceeding 5 trillion cubic metres which at $400/cu.m amounts to $2,000,000,000,000,000. Now tell me, what is it they say again about subsidy?

Aside that, if we each had $12,500,000,000 safely sitting in our accounts as earnings from the sale of natural gas, who would cry? Who would strap up in bombs to die? Who would even have the time?

So anyway, why are we so downtrodden amongst the people of the world? Why are we still grovelling in this our $1 per day/$1 per litre lifestyle? Why living worse than pet animals in other climes?!

We have installed a Government "of the people, for the people, by the people", which wakes up on the 1st of January to celebrate the New Year with Nigerians by dictating a new petrol price of N141/litre.

This unprovoked declaration of aggression by the government against the Nigerian people will not cease till we wake up from our slumber; till we set aside that red wine decanter and be sober; and until we realise that THE GOVERNMENT IS RIGHTFULLY OURS, WE ARE NOT THE GOVERNMENT'S!

2012 is "The Year That Is Rightfully Yours". Wake up, Stand up, Rise up Nigerians!

I see a lot of Nigerians do not want to think far. No wonder they have a very befitting President.

Let me start by addressing the last poster first. You have just laid waste to your career as a webmaster by your wrong judgment and breakdown of information. In my own post, I was asking also, why this page was hurriedly set up at this point in time. So If I created the website, am I also paying for the ADs on Facebook? And if I created the website, how then am I using it to post comments o Atiku's official page on Facebook? Yeah, Mr. Webmaster, tell me, or get off this thread!

For those of you who asked why I was wondering about the shyness of Boko Haram from the most Western Educational institute in Nigeria, maybe you should ask yourself a question too. When MEND was still very actively fighting over their oil resources, if they had gone ahead to be bombing all Commercial Banks in the Niger-Delta, wouldn't you have asked yourself why hey are avoiding Royal Dutch Shell? Come on, take off your blinders and think like human beings, or never again complain about your President's thinking capacity.

1. Boko Haram is PRIMARILY AGAINST WESTERN EDUCATION.
2. Boko Haram has bombed Churches, Markets, Police Headquarters, the UN Building, but the most extreme institution of Western Education which is i their noses, they ignore.
3. Why is Atiku starting this his "ATIKU FOR NIGERIA CAMPAIGN"? Is 2012 an election year?
4. Who made this statement at this period last year? “, Let me again send another message to the leadership of our great country, especially the political leadership that those who make peaceful change impossible make violent change inevitable, ”

So if you think these are mere coincidences, well, dust them off and move on to the next thread, but don't post what you don't know!

This is amazing. First President in the world to impose a Local Government Of Emergency. Please, you people should stop calling it a State Of Emergency. This is ridiculous!

Now the question is, does this man even know the meaning of this Local Government Of Emergency he has imposed? Where are the borders that within which the declaration will be upheld? And since Mr. President knows that he has done all in his power to combat Boko Haram and has failed, what new thing is he now going to do? Or does he think that "State Of Emergency" is a magic spell that once spoken against a particular area, things will automatically start getting better?! I laugh!

@Worm

Of course, I have been saying it that they are not one and the same, however, whoever is running this new Boko Haram seems to be tactically avoiding this obvious natural target for a certain reason.

And funny enough, before our SSS are given adequate time to conclude their investigation, the USA sends down its intelligence officers to help make up our minds.
