The list is obviously edited. All those who are currently in government or in positions of influence have had their names removed from that list. The list is definitely incomplete. Where's Abdulsalam Abubakar? Why do they keep referring to him as former head of state and causing a belief that it was Abacha? Why is Dick Cheney not on the list the US government worked with? I March 1999, when the "former head of state" approved the $1.2 billion contract, Abacha was long dead. Dick Cheney personally appointed the official who sealed that deal. Abdulsalam is not on the Nigerian list, Dick Cheney was not on the USA's list. The people whose names are on those lists are those whose political influence has totally diminished. All those whose names are on that list will be prosecuted. The sacred cows had their names edited off the list before it even came down. |
Whose doctor is this? Yar'Adua's? I didn't know doctors can now conclude without consultation, diagnosis or testing. This quack's licence should be withdrawn. |
I hear ya. |

Well, I was trying to put up a poll but couldn't find the button. Ladies and gentlemen, please indicate your preferred Nigerian to be President of this country among potential, obvious, or perennial candidates of Nigerian presidential elections. This thread is important in trying to logically deduce the possible results of the elections, or at least an explanation of what could possibly transpire. I would personally vote: Mallam Nuhu Ribadu. |
Boycott The IBB Machinery. People should realize that any radio station that advertises for IBB, any television channel that places commercials for IBB, any Newspaper that makes advert space for IBB, they are all part and parcel of the man's machinery and are therefore enemies of the people. Any journalist who can promote the man who instituted systematic assassination of journalists in this country is a betrayer. We must boycott any brand that promotes IBB. We cannot have brand loyalty for our own killers and condemners. Just like it happened to Nigerian Breweries when they supported OBJ's third term, let's do it again. BOYCOTT THE IBB MACHINERY! |
When these types of idiot lawyers called for the arrest of Al Basheer of Sudan, I said it was just a case of seeking attention and the continued insult on Africans, but my people won't hear this. Well, I don't support it, I think these lawyers are extremists. Irreligious Extremists. However, if justice is to be done, if we can see support for the arrest of Al Basheer, then we should all support the call for the arrest and trial of the Pope. He definitely conceal information and asked others to do same, he tried to cover up a lot of these crimes for decades. He may have done it for the greater good, but a crime is a crime. |
I don't know why people hate knowledge so much. Sanusi had the opportunity of studying Sharia and he was only trying to create enlightenment on issues to the best of his knowledge and education. When prof. Itse Sagay puts out a paper on Constitutional Law, nobody complains because we know the man understands Constitutional Law. Why then should we condemn a man who writes a paper on Sharia? I'm sure if you guys read through the entire document, you must have learnt a thing or two, or at least understood something about Sharia better. So why the anger instead of appreciation? I used to hang out in Joseph Sanusi's house in Ikoyi back then when he was Governor and he was a very religious man who preached his faith without fear of anybody or anything. I don't know why nobody saw anything wrong with that. Believe me, I personally advocate that public officers on a National level should renounce their religion and tribe so they can function in office with so much bias, but I promise that if the Nigerian Government should decide on making that the law tomorrow, Nigerians will still cry foul. Both Muslims and Christians. If a man gets beheaded and another gets electroctuted, which is more upsetting? Definitely, the type of execution you're traditionally used to will seem less barbaric to you. Nigerians for instance will see the Firing Squad as more humane than Electrocution or Beheading. That was what the man explained there, and that's what we know is true. The most important question I'd like to ask though, is when did Sanusi write that paper and why is it becoming so relevant today? |
IBB again abi? Let's see how he'll do it. |
Imagine if Reverend Martin Luther King and Malcom X had been passive when the American Government was suppressing African Americans, would they have Obama today? I personally believe that when a government is oppressive, the first set of people to stand up against it should be the religious leaders because everything they believe in cries against injustice. I've not been a fan of Pastor Tunde Bakare since the time he prophesied that Olusegun Obasanjo was going to die. However, I think the man has got his groove back. |
@frosbel please put an end to this unicorn chase. When you're wrong, accept you're wrong the time and energy you put into arguing this false cause could be better utilized in discussing something else which you actually know is true. |
I've always wanted a return of the SDP even in the form of the SDMP. Good choice. Socialists abi? Well, I'm just confused about this Ogbe-Buhari-Utomi union. I'm not saying they shouldn't be in the party, but not at the level of Chairman and Secretary. How's it even possible to make Buhari the secretary of anything? They should be patrons or non-Exco members. I believe in the party though to the extent that they're going to absorb ALL the other smaller parties into their fold. If they can't negotiate that deal, they can't get the Presidency. I will not vote in any party that nominates Buhari as their candidate, whether as President or Vice. The man only understand how to run government as a Monarchy. They should get involved with corporate Nigeria. Let's see CEOs and board members of successful major corporations declare support for them. Let's see this SDP outline a real agenda (not "I will create jobs", "I will alleviate poverty", "I will put an end to hunger" . Let's see the younger generation of Nigerians they will nominate as their candidates. Let's see them reject cross-carpeting of those perpetual enemies of Nigeria into their party rather than celebrating it. |
@kobojunkie ¤ to continue paying taxes is to continue funding a government for our own oppression. And allowing easy access for others who want to work and provide revenue for the government is doing the same thing. ¤ ¤ People want to treat this Jonathan led government as a different entity when they are one and the same. Look at Jonathan's cabinet. The best product there is Odein Ajumogobia, deputy Yar'Adua bootlicker. Aodoakka came out, Anenih went in. Lukman went out, Yar'Adua came in. Dora is still there. ¤ ' @Beaf ' when my mates were engaged in ARMED VIOLENT struggle against the government, I was calling for non-violent protest. ' If I was ever needed, it was not in an armed struggle. I will have to put at twist to the words of Marriane Williamson and tell you that my deepest fear is not of violence, but that I am violent beyond measure. It is not my weakness but my strength that frightens me. I don't know if I walk that road, whether I'll be able to stop. ' ' You honestly believe things are settling down? Anenih, Yar'Adua, Alao are now Ministers and you believe things are beginning to pan out? Adetokunbo Kayode who messed up the entire University calendar for last session is now the man who will lead us in war in case we're attacked by Saudi Arabia or Libya and now is the time you're beginning to feel relaxed? If I don't pay taxes, you think I'd be alarmed at the way funds are about to be looted by Jonathan and his new "come and chop" Cabinet? I don't see the progress you and your family are enjoying. If there's no progress in this country, I wonder how you can accuse me of being an enemy to it. It is the head of your family that is a friend of regression. @Ibime you call tribal wars revolutions? When the revolution begins, people would have been so enlightened and free minded they most will give up their kinsmen, their family members and their sponsors. Children will condemn parents and employees will reject employers. I'm only informing so that when it begins, people won't be lost as to what to do. @tpia you can be sure that an inexperienced driver moving at less than 1km/h due to slow pedestrian traffic cannot cause a fatal accident. Or you think otherwise? |
All men recognize the right of revolution; that is, the right to refuse allegiance to, and to resist, the government, when its tyranny or its inefficiency are great and unendurable. -Henry David Thoreau My people, I will speak against what is wrong. I will shout against a man corrupt. If a government's tyranny or inefficiency becomes GREAT and UNENDURABLE, then a people must react. It is their right, nay their duty, to revolt. In as much as I talk of a revolution, I do not endorse violence YET. Simple civil disobedience which I personally envisage as walking to work everyday as slowly as humanly possible, impeding traffic and production. On the streets of all major cities, we will be walking at 1 km/h. Putting the whole country and entire economy at a "go-slow". I'm tired of it all. I will cease to pay taxes to a central government that employs clowns into portfolios they don't belong. A change has to come and if not within the next year, then never in the next hundred. |
If President Goodluck Jonathan knows what is good for him, he will turn down the invitation from his counterpart of the USA. It hasn't quite been months when the USA sent an envoy to IBB to discuss procedures to carry out a coup on a government in which Goodluck Jonathan belongs. I believe this may be the plan B for the coup: take the unsettled President out of the country and before he comes back, the country is having a new leadership. I believe this is the sort of away coup IBB has shown that he's good at. The USA government has consistently refered to the government of which Jonathan belongs to as a fraud, last year alone, we saw Barrack rain insults on our entire nation from a neighbouring country. We saw Hillary Clinton act a bitch and spew rubbish about this same government. Yes this same government which President Goodluck Jonathan has always been a part of, and now heads. Our President has not yet done anything worthy of commendation from the international community. An invitation to see the head of the US regime does not validate the ballot papers from the 2007 elections. Unfortunately, there's no diplomat left in his cabinet who can decipher the true intent of this invitation and advise on it. Ojo Madueke is gone, and replaced with diplomatic inexperience. A Foreign Affairs Minister whose first issue among the miriad of problems plaguing Nigeria among the commity of nations was a physical office building. The special advisers are just a couple of mouths to receive millions of Naira salary due to be paid out with or without them. When Yar'Adua went out of the country, at least he left a Vice President. If Jonathan goes abroad, he will leave no one and that is the best time for their agent to strike. Why can't the President or Vice President of the country come visit President Goodluck Jonathan in Nigeria if there be such an issue of monumental importance? He who hath a brain, let him think. |

Vanity is a sin. They went there not because of money but as an opportunity to be among the chosen few that've seen Yar'Adua. Sin is what they've committed and they have seen what will put them in trouble if they speak. |
Let's face it, the man is a terrorist. Someone was trying declassify the taxi driver for the fact that he didn't use a gun or a bomb. Well, the 9/11 terrorists also used vehicles for one of the biggest terror hits the world has ever seen. The Irish who were bombing and killing all over the place are terrorists too. The Basque fighters are terrorists too. Those who pulled the Oklahoma bombing are terrorists. To understand this, you have to first define who a terrorist is. So who is a terrorist? What is terror? A definition I just googled up shows that a TERRORIST: a radical who employs terror as a political weapon; usually organizes with other terrorists in small cells; often uses religion as a cover for terrorist activities. TERROR: the use of panic or extreme fear to coerce people. So did this taxi attacker employ the use of fear and panic to coerce people to repent? Did he talk about others who will continue attacks? I say no more. |
I thought power generation was being privatized totally. So I hope this bond is going to be like a loan to the power companies. |
@ndu_chuks In 2002, my services were employed to gather data and demography information on the view of people concerning IBB for President 2003. The data and information for about 20,000 sampled individuals I personally interviewed and collated is still in my mailbox today. Less than 2% wanted to see IBB in government again and all of that 2% wanted him for reasons of promoting corruption which would benefit their pockets. IBB is only embarking on this now because the only person in this life that maintains his sanity, Maryam, is dead. Recently, there was a closed door meeting between himself and a group representing the government of the USA, including their ambassador. It is becoming obvious that they really discussed at length. |
@detopshot It seems you're trying to say that there are true Christians and misguided ones. Could it not be also that there are true Muslims and misguided ones. Bear in mind though that the misguided ones believe that they are the true ones and that's why they are willing to do extreme things to prove so. |
See people commenting when they don't even know the least bit about Abubakar Rimi. What really has the man ever done wrong to you? This is a man who was a governor, but resigned because of issues he felt he could not have a free hand to deal with. This is a man who openly confronts and challenges members of his own political party when they're doing wrong while in government. This is a man who has been robbed more than once because he chooses to live an ordinary Nigerian life. What else could you possibly want from him? How many times have you heard of IBB, OBJ, Igbinedion, Ibori, Odili, Abdulsalam, Marwa or Tinubu getting robbed? These are the people that rob us of our government funds and use it to secure themselves from robbers. If Rimi had stolen billions of dollars from Nigeria, do you think robbers will be able to go up to the sky and rob him in his private jet? Or pass through the security to rob him in a Hilltop castle? |
I think we should give this taxi driver a national award. It seems his effort has gotten us off the USA's terror list. I think these countries are only against Islamic terrorism cos immediately this Calabar incidence, they realized that Nigeria had Christian terrorists too and we were instantly removed from terror watch list. |
Britain has long lost its importance in this world. Their economy grown by less than 1% in recent time. So rather than go down alone, they want to drag others with them. Do the British sponsor wars all over the world? Have they sponsored war in Nigeria before? Within the last decade they've even tried to sponsor 2 bloody coups in Equatorial Guinea. It is the only thing that gives them a competitive edge over the other top economies in the world today. There will be no bloody civil war in Nigeria. I really don't know when British media delved into soothsaying. They should know that very soon, it is themselves that will rise up in a bloody civil war against their Despotic Monarchy that has been there for ages living off the masses' sweat with nothing to show in return. Charles, Harry, Phillip, Elizabeth, William, they will all hang by the noose. |
You people are just unwell. |
@edoyad if there's any truth in the statistics you quoted, then surely you're from the Middle East. The ignorance with which you post, I believe is unprecedented in the history of Nairaland. How can you claim awareness of the tribes or religions of the passengers on that flight? Were they chattering the plane to attend a Crusade? If it's okay for people of the same religion to massacre one another, then I don't believe we'd be hearing any noise over Iraq today. |
When Jesus said he'd make his disciples "fishers of men", he didn't mean that they were going to throw hooks into the mouths of human beings. Whosoever cannot decipher a parable should know that the message was never meant for them. When Senator Kanti Bello said that Dora was cooking for Turai, he meant that all along, Dora had been an agent of Turai's schemes. I know that even today, Dora is still cooking for Turai even to the extent of helping to install Jonathan and secure the Yar'Aduas a power seat in the FEC. |
What has northerner got to do with anything? You mean if Ribadu was contesting against Igbinedion, you would vote Lucky Igbinedion? |
This man is thanking God that Nigeria is borrowing huge sums of money from abroad. Just wonder about what our foreign debt will become if he is made the Minister of Finance. He's from Goldman Sachs, the bank that engineered the financial crisis in Greece which the entire European has found itself incapable to solve. I welcome him. With the likes of Anenih, Dora, Yar'Adua, I really see no reason why not. |
What we need are 5 political parties and the rest outside those parties can only contest as independents. |
