All this is story. For years now, AP has been scrap. I thought I was in a nightmare when AP shares were hitting N300. Any shareholder that invested in African Petroleum deserves to be punished by loss in value. Dangote and Otedola bought the company because of the licences it had and nothing else. Now they want to chase every other shareholder out and personalise the company in order to retain more of its profits when they turn it around. E be like say dem wan to act, another movie again O! |
You didn't even read the post well before you quoted and attacked. Ashanti boy is someone's username. |
Okay, I'll do it! |
Call them by their original name that they have now corrupted. The Romans called them THE BRUTISH. It was because of their brutal nature that they were able to massacre, conquer and enslave so many people. |
@TheBlessed may you be blessed if you can mention any good hospital your Brutish slave masters built for you in Nigeria before 1960 and how many Nigerians were treated there. |
Are they dead yet? |
@Yoruba-man So now that you've done it, are you a billionaire? |
If Abiola invested so much in the economy, then there would have been no need for searching out infrastructure to name after him. If he had built a stadium with his personal money, he would have named it MKO Abiola stadium and there would be no need to be searching for anything else to name after him. Being that the government has to seek public facilities to name after Abiola simply shows that Abiola himself didn't provide any infrastructure with the money he stole from that budgeted for infrastructure in Nigeria in the form of telephony. |
Seek and ye shall find: LIGHT UP NIGERIA. |
@Abu-Maryam don't tell me you believe that rubbish about money ritual. Anyway, this goat was just born. So It's not the case of being turned into a goat from something else. Secondly, in my years studying animal science, I've learnt that there are some animals you can't crossbreed. The most advanced lab in the world cannot crossbreed a human with a goat, let alone for it to happen in someone's backyard in Kano. |
@all By the way, I've had power for 2 days running now and I'm beginning to get very worried. Very, very worried. |
@ass That's a spelling error courtesy T9. That mobile predictive text feature which thanks to Globacom, Ghanaian will soon have access too. |
I hope Nigeria collects the whole tree from China. What do we need to be borrowing a leaf for when China is giving out trees to the whole world and their number 1 beneficiary is the USA itself (mr. China is bad). |
Nobody can mention anything that the Brutish did in Abia state? Okay let's go to the next state and see whether anybody can mention a single road, a single electric pole or even a single tree planted by Lugard and the rest of his Brutish invaders. Next state in alphabetical order ; ADAMAWA: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. |
I'm impressed with the civil manner in which you answered. It is not necessary to keep abreast with entertainment events in Nigeria, but just to mention, 2 attempts have been made on the life of Tu Face Idibia. Gunshot injuries and all. I think after the first, it may have been a special case, after the second, still no police security. I was just mentioning that this is a clear case of a man whom obviously, people want dead. Should lack of public office prevent the police from protecting him? Please, I fail to find records of the Swearing in of Turai Yar'Adua on that very May 29 2009. Still searching though. I wanted to know if you understood that this distribution of police aides has provided a lot of criminals with the wherewithal to unleash terror on their enemies. Everybody not on that FEC list most likely does not need police escorts and aides for their daily activities. |
@Thor I'm not trying to attack you, but you failed to mention that these top richest countries are per capita. The population of Equatorial Guinea is about half a million which means their total GDP annually is $15 billion while Nigeria's is above $200 billion. The only way you can justify this is to say that Equatorial Guinea is riches than the USA too because at as 2006, their GDP per capita had risen to about $50k. |
If China should by some mystically disappear into the past, I'd be standing in the middle of my house stark naked staring at the wall. I cannot explain why the countries of the west wanted us to buy audio discs for N3000 when China was rushing to deliver to us at N100. If audio CDs continued to be sold so crazily expensive, the Nigerian Home Video and Music industries would never have existed. I was at The Palms shopping arcade in Lekki a couple of months ago and I saw some terribly made, bland looking T. M Lewin shirts at special offer price of N7500. There was nothing special about the shirts. I know top of the range TMs, but these were just too ordinary. I had to fold my cash back in my pocket and head to the Marina got 3 shirts and 3 cotton trousers for N7500. The best thing about China is that after a while shipping these goods, they decide to finally ship in the machines to Alaba boys. In the 90's when you look across the skyline of developing areas of Lagos state, you'd see all those rusted cranes which were hazardous to both operators, construction workers, neighbours, passersby and motorists. China has started importing brand new cranes. The growth of China and India is very impota to the development of Africa and I'm happy that China has started to see that the development of Africa is very crucial to China's growth too. We cannot keep begging Europe and the USA for goods and services with our money in hand. Look at the telecommunications sector. Siemens, Alcatel and Motorola used to build base stations quite expensively. Huawei came and not only built them at a third of the price, they also built them on loan so the GSM companies can choose to pay for already built base stations as they earn from subscribers. The infrastructural arms of Motorola, Siemens and Alcatel have now run to strictly government contracts where they can bribe and produce second hand facilities at 3 times the cost. We need another Nigeria Prays to thank God for China. |
@Sagamite are you saying that it is not the duty of the Nigerian Police to protect the life and property of Tu Face Idibia or even yourself because neither of you have public appointments? You know not your rights. Do you not know that if a threat is made to your life or an attempt made on your life, you're entitled to police protection? So people people like Bode George should die because they are not public officers. So Mike Adenuga and myself should be killed because we have no public office? Can you remind me the day that Turai was sworn in as First Lady of the Federal Republic? What about Andy and Chris Uba? Which public office are they serving? Apart from the top officers in the Executive, Legislative and Judiciary, I see no reason why any other person should have more policemen assigned to them every Tuesday at the detriment of other citizens. If you have some other reasons, lemme know. |
@Martass Type correct English in here. Or were you not educated in Ghana? Don't you know a thing about tenses? |
Thank God for China. |
When they say the goat had a human face, do they mean it figuratively as in the goat was very kind? |
@tensor777 may blessings shower on you for your understanding of how things should be run. If we had waited for "enabling environment" before we could have good telecommunications services in Nigeria today, then I would not be posting this message on Nairaland via GPRS today. Thank God for lack of enabling environment that the GSM companies operated in. The way NITEL is today, that is how NEPA is, the same way the Refineries are, no different from the condition of the Universities are. We must deregulate. |
@Thor are you telling me that the creeks of Delta and Bayelsa are now much of Nigerian Territory? Are there refugees all over Nigeria? If yes, name one or two in your vicinity. Do you have more widespread corruption and criminality than the USA? Considering the figures we have seen from various banks and individuals his year alone. The crime statistics in Los Angeles and New York alone is more than that all over Nigeria. More than 300,000 children are kidnapped in the USA annually. That's without counting adults. Tons of hard drugs are sold and consumed by citizens of the USA daily. The Central Government of the USA is so weak that it cannot law down laws that must be obeyed by all states. The USA is officially still at war in Iraq, Afghanistan and Korea, the USA is currently the poorest state in the world considering its debt to revenue ration. The USA is the country worst hit by the Global Economic Recession and in fact, it started from there. So my brother, unless that list puts the USA as the most failed state in the world, there is everything wrong with it. |
@Becomeirritating I told you that these your treasure maps will soon get you in trouble. This Ooni of Ife is a strange fellow. He's the same person that claimed that Oduduwa came down from heaven on a staircase with a chicken and some corn to create the earth in the 12th century AD. How can the Ooni of Ife nominate himself as the top Yoruba leader yet not brave enough to lead them to the promised land (Benin Republic, the largest part of the old Benin Empire). |
Look, we deregulated the Telecoms sector and prices went high. But did we die? |
Please, let us start mentioning all the sustainable development infrastructure that the invading Brutes left Nigeria with. Please contribute to the list by naming a state then listing what the Brutish did for the Nigerians living there. Starting in alphabetical order: ABIA 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. |
Without deregulating the energy sector completely, we will never have adequate supply of fuel and electricity. Never! |
All these americano people like Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama to remove the iroko from their eye before talking about the splinter in ours. The USA produces three times the amount of crude oil that Nigeria produces, yet they import refined fuels from Venezuela too. So I really don't know what is making this woman sweat in the nyash. |
Little Seun, you seem not to have any answers to the questions people always ask, so what can I possibly gain from going to check out your weblog? Anyway, if you live in a very busy area, go to your window and look out. Those masses moving around going to and fro, they are the ones that have landed us in this cycle of crude export and fuel import. Look at them very well. They are the cause of fuel scarcity. Secondly, I want you to turn on your TV set, tune it to AIT and you will see some people on a program called Kakaaki. Those are the touts that have deceived the masses into believing the lies that make them fight against refining crude oil in Nigeria. A couple of years ago, when the government wanted to deregulate the price of petroleum products (ie stop fixing the price of petroleum products), we saw these union presidents on AIT lying that a litre of crude oil can be sold for less than N33 so Nigerians should fight to make sure the government continues to control the price of petroleum and not leave it alone. At the point when crude oil was $129 per barrel, 1 litre of crude was therefore $1 which was equivalent to about N127 back then. This is raw crude in a barrel, not yet transported, not yet refined, not yet profit priced, not yet taxed. However, the leaders of the Nigerian Labour Congress tell the masses that they can make it happen at N33 and they believe. They pressure the government not to deregulate. Now tell me which company will like to build a refinery in a country where they'll buy crude for A current price of N78 per litre and sell the refined product for N65. Okay, Dangote said he may be able to do it somehow. Partner with some other heavy weights in the oil industry buy the refineries, fix them up and refine this crude. But surprisingly, the NLC pressed their remote control again and the masses went against it. 2 years later what has happened? MAKE UNA CARRY UNA REFINERIES CHOP DEM! We are the ones punishing ourselves. |
I've lived in the North, the West and the South for extended periods of time and unless you want to assert that the Easterners are the most wretched people in Nigeria, please give it to the North. Over there, the classes that exist are the extremely wealthy which you'd find a few, the used-to-be extremely wealthy, the semi-destituted and the totally abject poverty stricken destitutes. You've heard of the theory of some Nigerians living on less than one dollar per day, go to some parts of the North and you will see some people that live on absolutely nothing on most days. |
Anybody trying to deny that kidnapping in Nigeria was invented by MEND shall not see the gates of heaven. Now to the topic, please, if there's any Nairalander in Kogi, they should help me slap that Mr. Vincent Baba. That guy watches The Crime Channel too much. How can he profile two other captives so well from a distance and during such chaos that he could tell they were from Ekiti state, one was a legal practitioner, the other had a husband who was a Chief. Even Jason Bourne is not that good. Chairman Vincent Baba, talk truth. Who order the kidnapping of all these people? Who telephone dem to tell dem say una dey that hotel? Please cooperate with the police ehn because of your expertise in knowing more than you should about this particular case. Bloody criminal. |
