What you observed is a risk-off sentiment where investors have a negative view of high-yielding currencies and the economy so they sell those high-yielding currencies (AUD, NZD, CAD), Oil and stocks while they buy safe-haven currencies (USD, JPY, CHF) and Treasury bonds.

Some of their rights should be kept from being exercised where those rights can lead to them being vulnerable to manipulation, unhealthy social influence, or peer pressure.

Teenage boys should not be left out. They should be taught the same thing as the girl child but more than that they should be taught to respect girls, not to be brutish, abusive.

I don't intend to fan the flame of sexism or genderism or any kind of gender bias. I think Op may have been moved to create this thread based on the number of ladies who come to social media to lament their singlehood and the fact that, for many, they have exceeded the age bracket where men consider them desirable for marital union.

One thing, though, that Op did not address is the fact that many of the ladies who have grown past their age of flower is did not deliberately reject good men but were victims of hope in relationships that were doomed like the Titanic.

Another fact is that, for some, their parents have a hand in their status as singles.

For many, after they were brutally scarred emotionally it would take years to trust and open up their hearts to men.

Many ladies also find themselves in situations like this owing to no fault of theirs. They were brought up to be good, focused, to shun negative youthful influence - a path they followed but luck was not just on their side while the very opposite have had no problem tying the knot with a good man every Saturday.

There are so many variables that exist on the physical and spiritual angles of perspective but unaccounted for in the op.

Nobody is talking about the big Elephant in the room, which is lack of electricity. This week I've spent 58,000 naira on fuel for my generator for work, that is full tank for alot of cars every week, and the car owners are complaining, what about us that need Electricity to work.

I barely get 6 hours of electricity, I tried buying solar, but the conditions are too much, turn off this, turn this on, don't use this bulb. Mehn, plus I can't turn on AC while working.

Since my work is from home I decided to buy a laptop worth 1million here on Nairaland (thanks to Nairaland) just to ease my work, atleat I get 4 hours of break in severe heated room with my laptop.

How else can someone survive in this country with this low electricity, is there any state that is better? Or is it a must I have to travel to another African country just to get simple electricity to work. My generator just went off and my fuel gone, that why I came here to rant. I'm going to buy feul at 615 naira per litre

Don't forget that "specialists" are currently advocating an increase in tax to revamp fiscal policy and boost government revenue.

These so-called specialists pretend to be ignorant about the fuel subsidy removal for this very purpose, the numerous sources of revenue that accrue to the federal government are suddenly non-existent, indirect taxes that have been increased numerous times in three years now, and paid by the masses are inadequate to fund government policies. The cost of living rising to the heavens is just statistics. Nigerians attempting, and committing suicide owing to their inability to cope with the ever expanding gap between income and cost of living are the little price we pay for a robust economy that has been spiralling downhill since 2015 but much much worse in 2023.

My heart goes out to the very poor. Bread, their only sustenance, is being taken from them but we keep supporting those taking it away from them. At least you can even afford the expenses. May God be merciful on this corrupt nation.

I'm all for justice to prevail and that means investigation should be carried out meticulously.

That said, have you gone through the thread on twitter? Many (obviously within the school) were shocked that "Plato" could be capable of such allegation levelled against him. In the other hand, many confirmed this girl's story that they went through similar ordeal in the hands of the same man. One even said that the guy threatened her and insulted her parents after she warned him to steer clear from her sister.

It is very true many ladies have bastardized and abused the gravity of rape allegation by making false rape allegations such that men hardly believe them anymore. In fact, speaking for myself, any lady with rape allegation is first a liar. I hardly believe them anymore after seeing the harm and destruction of lives their lies have caused.

There is always an exception. She has evidence. People have come out to corroborate her allegation against the man. Investigation is already ongoing but it is not the kind as to have him arrested for sexual molestation of a minor.

The matter must be comprehensively investigated to know if she is actually pulling a stunt to dismember his good reputation, or she is an actual victim of the man's insatiable lust for the skirts.
