They believe that there are no jobs for them and in other to raise money they take some children with the knowledge of their parents in most cases for trafficking. I beg to disagree with your assertion. Look at this:

Togo and as far as Mali to work on plantations.
Between October and December 2003, over 500 children
from the Republic of Benin were rescued from granite
quarries and repatriated back to their country of origin,
through a joint effort of UNICEF in Nigeria and Benin.
Similarly, Nigeria has recently seen an increased number of
repatriation of trafficking victims from many foreign countries
such as UK, Italy, Netherlands, USA, Belgium, Ireland, Saudi
Arabia and South Africa.
Private transit camps have been reported to exist in Akwa-
Ibom, Cross Rivers and Ondo States where children are
transported from the south eastern states and forced into
hard labour and prostitution.

The Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi
and the state's deputy governor had a close shave with death today as a suicide bomber detonated his bomb just meters from where both were.

The incident happened around 2:15pm, immediately after Friday prayers at the mosque in front of the Shehu's palace. Witnesses said a youth of about the age of 15 was noticed walking towards the two dignitaries.

However, the suspicious manner in which he was approaching them immediately drew the attention of the security men guarding the Shehu who quickly tried to shield him. In the process, the bomb went off, killing at least 10 other people in the vicinity and critically wounding two of the soldiers.

JTF spokesman in the state, Lt. Col. Sagir Musa confirmed the incident but said only 5 people were killed and 6 others, including the two soldiers, wounded by the blast.

The area around the Shehu's palace has been cordoned off and more soldiers have been deployed to the scene.

Flaws in the OP's story:

1. Who was paying the bills on your outings? Was it the guy? Then may be he thought you were been a leech, refusing to help with the bills. Was it you? Then maybe he thought you were trying to lure him with outings.

2. What was so difficult about verifying whether you were still working or was truelly sacked? Every desparate guy will check. It is possible he discovered your lie and ran, not wanting to marry a lady who will be hiding money from you and depending on your sole income.

3. OP better change your ways, because many girls today are so conscious about their money that they think every guy coming is after their money. The bad thing is such girls finally end up with such guys because a real desparate guy will go any lenghth to have you, he can pretend as much as you want but once you fall with him, you are a goner.

4 Am concluding that the guy is not a gold digger, he was only pissed with you, a real gold digger would have stayed as long as you wanted to play your games. Wise up!
