The people that did this evil act are gone, so if the security agencies can't checkmate them what is our concern if not to pray to God for protection because our lives and property are never secured in hands of this useless security agencies, just think of it, how can some few persons ransack police headquarters and the prison and the security did nothing, not even firing just one bullet. |

Right now am in Owerri, and the news of the prison break is not been taken serious as you guys on Nairaland is taking it, though many people are having mixed feelings but generally every were is calm and people are carrying out their lawful business without intimidation from anybody. |

baralatie: is it the reason why you are in support of ipob releasing 1500 rapists, kidnappers, robbers and ritual killers. I've been to that prison many times for visiting, am very sure 80% of the 1500 inmates are awaiting trial and half of the 80% have not been to court since their detention because of lack of funds and other challenges like meeting bale conditions, so please not all 1500 are arm robbers or rapist or kidnappers and so on, many of them are their because of minor issues |

Lamidi cownu really misled ipob lunatics for his personal benefits. The police headquarters and the government house are in the same premises even with the DSS state office, this is beyond calling security meetings, he should as a matter of urgency call for peace in the state |

This is not good, it's an indictment on the security agencies in Owerri and by extension Nigeria, it's a sad day for every Nigeria.
You can't tell me that we don't have up to 300 security personnel around the Government House, DSS office, the Police Head Quarters and the Prison.
If you don't know this place, let me give you guys a clear picture of how it look like.
The Government House, the DSS state office and the Police Head Quarters are in the same premises while the prisons are neighbours to the police headquarters just a huge fence demarcating them.
So what happened, why no any engagement, they just let them take over the place for good 3-hours, this is too much to swallow, even the information circulating is that they told the inmates to go home and N500 were given to each of them as transport as they were leaving the gate.
So the governors should no know that their security is in the hands of The Almighty God, not this set of betrayals |

dongc: Where do you think I am from no need to waste more time on this...let me go back to what I am doing before....see what someone else was thinking Am from Imo State, and you are not still getting the point, I ask, what is the distance from Owerri airport to PH airport? Am very sure Asaba airport and Eungu airport have same distance to Owerri Airport, while PH and Owerri Airport are 3rd and 4th busiest and Kano and Eungu are 5th and 6th busiest while Kaduna is the 7th busiest using the data from FAAN. So despite the closeness of PH, Owerri, and Eungu Airports they still have a better rating than others that far. So this simply means that part of the country has a higher middle class, same thing is happening in the inter state bus service, I live in Abuja, and you will find it very hard to see southwestern going to ABC transport or The Young Motors or GIGM etc, why? Because most of them can't afford to pay the 10k to 15k going to Ibadan or Lagos, but you see many of they at GIRI Junction along Abuja Kaduna express way flagging down on going cars or bus. Anambra Airport will suprise many people interms of passengers traffic. |

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) lately stated that for an airport to be viable and self-sustaining, it must have, at least, five million passengers a year. Today, only Lagos and Abuja airports could boast of at least five million passengers in a year
Similarly, Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri, amassed a total of N1.25b in generated revenue and collected N1.08b. Expenditure was, however, N2.50b, with a shortage of N1.42b.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2019/05/10/why-nigerian-airports-are-not-viable/amp/ So PH, Owerri, Kano and Eungu Airport are not viable, so federal government should shot them down, PH and Owerri Airport have not less than 6 Airlines that fly to that airport on daily basis, oga if you don't know that air travel is now gaining momentum as more people are now flying and this will keep going up and up. As for the gains so far I believe Owerri, Eungu and Anambra Airport will be in the top six or seven airport in Nigeria in terms of passenger traffic, not minding the closeness |

~Says the major reason for the project is to save lives and boost economic activities between Abia and Ebonyi State
The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engineer David Nweze Umahi has expressed optimism that the Iyere flyover in Edda, Afikpo South Local Government Area would end loss of lives on the road when completed.
Governor Umahi stated this while speaking with IGBERE TV correspondent shortly after inspecting the progress of work at the flyover measuring half a kilometer.
He said his administration choose to embark on the project which is executed by direct labour to save travelers from the agony of plying the road which has a dreaded terrain.
Governor Umahi while regretting that over 54 lives had been lost on the road, assured that his administration would deliver the project within the shortest possible time and in the best of quality.
He expressed optimism that the flyover would boost economic activities between Ebonyi and Abia States when completed.
"The economic benefit is that economic activities between Abia and Ebonyi State will be boosted through this section of Ebonyi State when this flyover is completed as the state.”
In less than six years of Governor David Umahi, he has completed twelve flyovers and five are presently ongoing but the Iyere flyover, though it is the seventeenth flyover in the state but it is exceptional because of the it's terrain and the distance.
