Politics › Re: Confusion Deepens In Ogun PDP As Kashamu Launches Governorship Campaign by nickxtra(m): 7:20pm On Dec 10, 2018 |
Gistpeeps: https://nigeriapoliticsonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/buruji-kashamu-3.jpg
Confusion deepened in Ogun State Peoples Democratic Party on Monday on who is exactly the governorship candidate of the party: Senator Buruji Kashamu or Oladipupo Adebutu?
Last Friday, the PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus presented the party’s flag to Adebutu and said he is the authentic candidate of the party.
But 72 hours after, Senator Buruji Kashamu, whose PDP faction of the Bayo Dayo-led faction claims to be the authentic and legal PDP in the state also organised a flag ceremony in Ijebu-Igbo, shown live on television.
Buruji and his running mate, Dr. Reuben Abati were presented to the crowd.
Abati addressed the crowd and urged the supporters to support Buruji as the PDP governorship candidate. He said Buruji would run a pro-masses, pro-poor government.
The other faction of PDP headed by Sikirullahi Ogundele roots for Oladipupo Adebutu, who was recognised by the national body of PDP.
The Bayo-Dayo faction first submitted Adeleke Shittu as the party’s governorship candidate, before substituting him with Buruji Kashamu in November.
The electoral umpire in accepting the list submitted by Dayo faction cited subsisting court judgments which recognised the faction.
This was also the crux of the riposte of Buruji to Uche Secondus, following the latter’s recognition of Adebutu.
“As the National Chairman of an opposition and pan-Nigeria political party, Prince Secondus is supposed to be a leader and the alter ego of the PDP. Thus, there is a presupposition that he would project the best that PDP represents. It is not for him to continue carry on as a serial contemnor through consistent disobedience of subsisting court judgments under the guise of party supremacy. He cannot continue to act as if the party is not guided by its own constitution and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“It is surprising that while the leaders and elders of the party as well as its presidential candidate who believe in the Rule of Law have advised the national leadership of our party to toe the path of honour, Secondus and his co-travellers decided to go the inglorious way of impunity and disregard for constituted authorities – in a desperate bid to accomplish the mercenary job they have been paid to do.
“By their conduct, they are telling Nigerians and members of the PDP that the Party belongs to them and they can do whatever pleases them. They are saying they are the Alpha and Omega of the Party; and that they are more powerful than the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. They have always done this to people. But, I want to make it abundantly clear that, on behalf of all the cheated and oppressed members of the party, we will fight for our rights till the last.”

Hedonini: Why or how is that the recipient's business? That issue should he raised with the governor/Akwa Ibom state government. As long as the lawyer can prove that the payment was for legitimate services rendered (which he had easily done), then he has zero culpability.
If you're a thief, and you use proceeds of theft to pay for goods and services, does that make the provider of those goods and services complicit in your alleged crime? Come on. That's a very very silly approach by the EFCC.
The EFCC is doing a ready disgraceful job, wasting public funds on very stupid cases that would be thrown out by the courts for lack of merit. It's a shame how incompetent this institution and others in Nigeria are. The law is that the recipient of stolen goods, whether knowing or unknowingly is culpable. Ignorance is no excuse in law. |

paragon40: they should go and hold the Governor, EFCC has no good case against the NBA President, the question is, is he entitled to his professional fees or not. Yes or no?? In my own opinion yes. They should hold the Governor for misappropriation of public fund(s). The law is that he who steals and he that benefits from the proceeds of the stolen item or money are all culpable in law. |

Politics › Months After Receiving L.G. Autonomy Bill, Only 9 States Have Passed It-nass by nickxtra(op): 12:22pm On Dec 04, 2018 |
SENATE President, Bukola Saraki, has attributed the slow pace of work being accorded the bill on local government autonomy to states, saying they were not giving adequate attention towards its quick passage by the National Assembly and possible assent by the president. Represented by the Chairman,Senate Committee on States and Local Governments, Senator Abdullahi Gumel, the Senate President however expressed hope that the remaining 26 states which were yet to treat the bill, will do so,as according to him, “delay does not constitute denial.” He said:”You will be aware of the efforts of the National Assembly towards actualising financial autonomy for local institutions by way of the Local Government Autonomy Bill under the 1999 Constitution (as amended). ” It is a matter of some disappointment that only nine (9) states have so far passed this Autonomy Bill. “While it may be true that the Bill is still under consideration in the remaining 26 states, we must remain hopeful that in this instance, delay does not constitute denial.” Read more at: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/12/saraki-blames-states-on-slow-treatment-of-lg-autonomy-bill/ |

Corrinthians: Oyedepo is deeply saddened by the lack of patronage coming from Aso Rock. He will do and say anything to have his clique of crooked clientele get back in there so the doors of the treasury can re-swing wide open to him!
I'm sure he's one of those who fervently prayed Buhari dies back when he was ill.
Oyedepo certainly worships a God alien to Christianity as we know it.
God punish Oyedepo and his tenth generation yet to be born. May God forgive you. |
