I agree to your last statement. Some people in Canada always overhyped it. This is my 10 years of living in Canada.
You have just spoken the truth bro but they wont listen...one of the things that i personally dont like about those western countries is the high tax...for me the tax will make it difficult to have a decent savings especially as a family man...and the higher your salary, the higher your tax mehn!

I will advice to stay with the boutique, I am a living testimony, I started a small boutiques in May 2019 with working capital of 135k, today my goods are more than 2.6 million, I just rented another new shop which by God's grace will start operation by January next year. On normal day profit of 25k is assured. And it is continuous.
Just make sure you have good location. Belive me you will make it big. Don't mind those that do say boutique business is saturated.

This is my new shop under renovation
Bro.... do you import ur goods or you buy them within nigeria?

stick to your boutique idea while incorporating your massage center to it if possible cause i believe in diversification..try getting a space that would enable you to do both but be smart enough to start with the boutique then you can start the other one when the first business picks up
Brilliant advice

Good morning and compliment of the season. I met one Alhaja yesterday she said there is a live-in maid Job available in Dubai and salary is 100k when converted to naira. She also said the Visa is 500k and I have to deposit 200k. It will be processed withing 3 weeks and I would resume work straight from the airport. She said I should send her via WhatsApp, my international passport, a passport pic and a portrait pic of me showing my full stature on a white background.

Pls is this real, plus is the salary for live-in maid Job 100k or more than? I hope she is not planning on using me for continued monthly business.
Run away from the alhaja...alll those maid stuffs is human traficking in disguise

But he said he's been saving a big chunk of his salary over the years. Meaning he has the fund to make the move without stress.

By the way, his occupation is needed around the world. It won't be hard for him to land a job once he get there. Programming is well sort after all over the world.

So he has no issue landing a job at most within 3 to 4 months of arrival. Besides, he will be paid times 3 of what he is earning here right now and will possibly be able to acquire properties back home if he so wish.

It will be a nice choice for him to move. He will never regret it as a programmer.
Alright

You didn't answer my questions. Nothing is guaranteed. A change in administration, immigration laws, etc, can make it harder or impossible to get the passport in the future. He lives in a country where the military was ordered to kill its own citizens. No light, running water, local police force and politicians ranked worst in the world, low life expectancy, etc. This is far from a comfortable life. Someone who's comfortable wouldn't be on nairaland debating if he should migrate. Nobody who lives in Canada, creates a thread asking if they should migrate to Nigeria. You know why ? Because they're truly comfortable.

Its foolish to stay in a 3rd world country because of a tech business. Not everything is about money. Naija guys claims they're the biggest hustlers, yet they get cold feet about migrating to Canada. Too afraid to hustle here ?
Alright

Canada passport doesn't wait for anyone. Make hail while the sun shine. A time will come when Canada will close her immigration route. And by the way, OP is getting older. The more he waits, the more the process get harder and competitive.

He can run his tech biz over there if he wants to. The Nigeria environment right now doesn't favour businesses.
The crucial aspect is does he have enough funds to sustain his family and at the same time run a tech biz in canada

Have you lived abroad before ? As a legal resident ? You're telling him to pass up a Canadian passport because of a tech company?
He can get the canadian passport later...it will even be more easier when he becomes successful in his tech company...he shouldn't trade his comfortable life for an anticipated life in canada
TravelRe: Any Hope In Nigeria Or Just Move To Canada? (Finally moved to UK) by Nicoswit(m): 1:04am On Dec 10, 2020
Move only if you have a good job waiting for you in canada..if not focus on ur tech company in naija and keep accumulating properties

I will see to this. The only problem is that hope they won't ask for my mom's consent because if they do, my mom will deny that my step dad beats her. She has done that couple of times when I called the police in
Plant a spy camera in their house to capture the action so as to serve as an evidence....just send the man to jail
