chrisley024:Mehn that goal too sweet |
dmcdad:Costa wasn't fit na why... Hazard on the other hand... |
Ibime:I was actually referring to their how open they were in the second leg. They were wide open mehn...Costa and Hazard just weren't able to profit |
dmcdad:I said exactly the same That their midfield was clearly too open but Hazard and Costa were unable to capitalise |
Dadehmola:I can now understand why airmark has made brother Dayo his personal mission on this website. Dayo Never contradicts himself...he's way too knowledgeable to trip over his own lines. It's just that he wilfully distorts facts and arguments to suit any argument that favours players thar he likes, or leagues that he doesn't like e.g EPL Any other time, the man is wonderful...but mention Bayern, EPL, BoaStank or Martial and then watch the truth become elastic |
sinizia:Set Piece and Awoof Penalities dont count - Raumdeuter, 1972 |
Up city Mehn. I'm so happy for pellegrini. |
AdeLaNa1:That Manchester area is too choked. Not only does city have to contend with United, there's Bolton, Stockport, Oldham, Salford, Preston all within a 30 mile radius...slightly further afield you have Burnley, Wigan, Blackburn, Stoke, Crewe etc... And these are just the clubs I can think of off the top. When you have like 15 neighbours within 60 miles of your stadium, and one of them is a giant like United, it's difficult to pull new fans. I didn't even factor the Liverpool clubs only a short drive up the M60 |
chrisley024:Extremely. |
Wheres that raumdeuter of a bros? Shey he can see again how pens ain't easy |
chrisley024:Of course I know he's above average. My main grouse isn't with Martial at all. ![]() It's with Dayo, Coogar and Olabode89 |
raumdeuter:You sef know the truth. I will never let you live this down. Martial that Cowan has already overtaken is the one you claim is better than Lukaku? ![]() Gerrarhia ![]() |
chrisley024:The whole point of this discussion has been to show Martial up as the average Joe that he is. A Player that reportedly cost 60 million really shouldn't scoring marginally faster than a player that cost a fraction of that, playing for a team in 19th place...yet this is the player that is vaunted as the best U25 in the league If you have a valid objection to this logic, I'd like to hear it. Plus Dayo's used Martial's extortionate price as justification for his hype in our earlier discussion so his price is fair game |
raumdeuter:Gap between sample size is too small. |
raumdeuter:Well if your Checkmate is that Martial who cost reportedly 4 times more than Wijnaldum, and who plays for a 5th place team vs Wijnaldum in 19th, has a marginally better goal scoring rate, then your case maybe beyond help... |
raumdeuter:Those facts don't say Iwobi is better BTW... All they show is that Iwobi has 3 goals in 400 minutes. You can't draw any logical inference from such a mismatched sample size |
raumdeuter:You are clutching at straws now. Your argument about penalty takers is daft and redundant because penalty taking is a skill that has to be mastered in the same way finishing must be mastered, otherwise there wouldn't be a dedicated Pen taker at any club. We saw how Bayern players missed multiple Pens in a shootout leading to a cup defeat last season shoeing how difficult a skill it is to master So it's nobody's fault but Martial if he's not good enough to take Pens for manyoo on a regular basis...though I'm sure I've seen him take Pens this season. Finally your question has been answered...Wijnaldum ![]() |
chrisley024:I was responding to a ridiculous claim that Martial is '1000% better than Giroud' If Giroud has more goals in far less minutes than Martial, how then is Martial better? A striker's Job first and foremost is to score...yet even as a provider, Giroud has done better...so what else do you want to bring to the table? The iniesta discussion was completely different. A central midfielder has many job, to attack, to defend, to create, to circulate....and the essence of play making is actually intangible. I admit you have a point about my seemingly double standards but the the job of a forward less complicated than a CM...and that's why the best striker award is not decided by vote anywhere in the world. |
raumdeuter:You are the one that is daft ![]() How won't the main attacking threat be the main star? Or did they just pluck 'main star' badge from the air and pin it to Harry Kane's bumbum? Why is Danny Rose not the main star? Or Danny Simpson? Or Okazaki ![]() Main attacking threat = Main Star = Main set piece taker at most clubs |
Anybody that says Martial is better than Giroud is sick in the head, of that there's no doubt. A forward is judged primarily on scoring goals....and Martial has not scored enough goals either in France or England to be discussed in the same conversation as Giroud At least LVG does not manage Les Bleus where Giroud is still keeping Martial outside on the left. |
raumdeuter:You are quite daft Egbon... Harry Kane is Spurs top pen taker...he's also one of the youngest in the squad. Ditto Lukaku. Mahrez is a younger player both in age and squad status to Jamie Vardy but was on Pen duty till he kept missing...then Vardy took over Aguero is one of the youngest in that ageing city squad...He's still on pen duty Hazard has been on Pen duty since Kingdom come Jordan Ayer at Villa just came, is young and is the main guy. I could go on an on...but it's obvious that age is not the main factor in choosing the pen taker...SKILL is...and whose fault is it if Martial is not deemed good enough to take Pens? Mine? ![]() To answer your question I've already give you two examples of non-strikers in worse off teams who aren't the main set piece takers at their clubs Arnautovic and Wijnaldum. Ross Barkley and Alli are tied with him for goals and yet out do him on assists... |
raumdeuter:This other moronic argument again. Instead of asking why Martial isn't good enough to take deadballs, and not trusted to score pens, you want to try and discount legitimate skills that are difficult to master... Remember how Bayern lost in the DFB Pokal on pens last season? ![]() |
kokaneprodigy:You can imagine the moronic excuse. Wijnaldum has outscored Martial because Steve McClaren is a better manager than LVG. Dele Alli quietly matched Martial's league goal Tally on Sunday, whilst boasting more assists to boot [pun intended] and they're the same age o...yet Coogar and his army of drones were happily proclaiming Martial the best 19 and U21 in the league. Then Raumdeuter came to up the ante and crowned him the best U25 in the league when 3 of the current top 5 goal scorers are aged 25 and below... Gosh... |
Leyqute:My friend I've given you an example of a player who also plays on the flanks, who is in a team worse off than united, playing with team mates far worse than Martial is, and under a manager far worse than LVG....yet he OUT PERFORMED Martial. That's the summary destruction of your wack excuse. A player in a relegation battling team has outperformed Martial. Costa was facing relegation under Mourinho and has still outperformed Martial. Giroud has been riding the bench for months now...and still has more goals and assists than Martial. Troy Deeney has more goals/assists than Martial. Marko Arnautovic has more goals/assists than Martial. Jermain Defoe has more goals/assists than Martial I don't understand how Manager, Tactics, Team Mates, or any other wack excuse you've given can be tendered without some modicum of shame, when Martial plays in a team and for a manager, and with team mates that are superior to most of the names I've mentioned. What other excuse do you have when Wijnaldum and Arnautovic have outscored Martial? Maybe it's time to accept\admit the truth...that Martial is nowhere as good as you claimed he was It's not like Martial has a track record of goal scoring anyway ![]() |
Leyqute:So A manager who has been sacked for leaving his team 19th on the table is better than a manager whose team is 5th? That make sense to you? |
Leyqute:There are at least 17 players who have outscored Martial in the league this season The vast majority of them play in teams below United on the log. Several of them are midfielders. I'm guessing all of these players have better managers, better tactics, and Ozil to supply the assists Georgino Wijnaldum for example, occasionally plays in the pivot, but mostly on the same left wing as Martial, mostly under a rubbish manager who has now been sacked, for a team that is 19th on the log... He still has more goals and assists than the new Henry... |
Leyqute:This is probably the wackest excuse yet. So now it's a case of 'Supply'. I guess the 16 other players who have more goals than Martial in the league this season all have 'Ozil et others' to feed them.. |
coogar:Martial: 2264 league minutes 8 goals 3 assists Giroud :1984 league minutes 12 goals 4 assists. 1000% |
