Ibime:Super Eagles yet to be paid bonuses yet Pinnick is flying his cronies to England for 'capacity building' Aminu shuiabu was failing when I was in primary school. I don finish uni, born pikin, marry and Aminu is still there...still failing The same old names KeshI, Siasia etc bringing their BS via the revolving door of nonsense. I'm just annoyed that I actually allowed myself to believe that the likes of Ighalo, Iheanacho and co could be the catalyst for a revival |
hensben:And Neuer played... ![]() See as Vardy just destroyed his reputation |
We just want to burn this league down... |
I'm sure we should be able to groove on Dayo's thread tonight |
Vardy of life. |
Dadehmola:Or Biro I knew a guy that had a champion pen back in the day Never defetated ![]() |
dmcdad:Humberto Suazo!!!!! That nigga was the Shitt! |
Dadehmola:PES5 was Adriano's game. Adriano Martins and Recoba was the Axis of evil then. With Vander Meyde and co supporting. I spent many Sunday mornings with my guys straight after three club smoking weed and tanning PES Good times |
Dadehmola:The game mechanics were too easy to exploit back then. Most people played with finger permanently on the turbo button. You could literally waltz past players due to the limitations of the 8 direction turning axis. Once they ran past you, it was difficult to change direction or double back. I remember beating some Konamis 6 or 7 to nil |
Dadehmola:The game centres I dey go banned 1-2 cos it was just too easy. L1+X and the computer gives it you back easy. |
Dadehmola:Brazilian team was ridiculous 433 Roberto Carlos, Rivaldo and Ronaldo up top. Dunga, EMerson, Ze Roberto in midfield, Cafe, Lucio, Junior Baiano, Aldair in defence. Taffarel in Pes1/2, Dida PES 3 ![]() |
dmcdad:I think Allejo was Ronaldo. I played ISS mostly on N64 though I do remember playing once or twice on SNES |
Ibime:I just forgot his name. I remember the guy well with his punk haircut. |
I remember some of these names though... Furo Iyemeni would be familiar to anyone who played PES 1/2/3 or their winning eleven counterparts for the particular way the commentator mentioned it Jonathan Akpoborie, Mobi Okparaku, etc. Akpoborie especially seemed to always be mentioned on Larry Izamojes ray power show every morning...along with 'Zzzzamalek of Eegypt' Abeg what was the name of that PSG striker that broke into the SE around the early noughties....he was short, very fast, but very useless in front of goal? |
afrodoc2:Career wise Ameobi was not even better than Sodje. How can you build a career where more than half your appearances were off the bench? Haba. 300+ games and he didn't start up to half. 14 seasons as a striker only 50 goals Come on That guy is a bigger failure than GEJ |
raumdeuter:But Sodje was loved by Nigerians and actually played relatively well, though still sheet. Cos I remember how people used to say his jazz was inside that do-rag. Ameobi had like 50 goals in like 14 seasons at St James Park. That's how absolutely useless that bag of Beans was, especially when you consider that those seasons encompass a period in the championship I think his brother is currently maintaining the Ameobi legacy of being Tall, Useless and on the fringes of the Newcastle team. I heard he wants to play for England. which is very goodHis delusion should keep him from inflicting himself on us. I cant stress it enough, Bag of Beans is thr most useless feckless cluelesss foreign born to ever pull on the shirt. |
raumdeuter:The two sodje's can never be as bad as Bag of Beans. It was when I watched Nigeria live vs Scotland at Craven Cottage that I understood first hand how useless Ameobi was. The guy is as tall as a Nepa Pole but did not win a single header. He would hold up the ball and then throw away the pass. The absolute worst thing for me was how the fool kept walking into offside positions. He wasn't running at all, but the Scottish defenders had him so far offside sometimes...you will be wondering if the fool no get eye. And obviously he's too slow to recover. I think he had one shot all game. Clear chance volleyed straight at the keeper That guy is the worst foreign born to pull on the shirt without question |
Ibime:Wow I didn't know Dominic Iorfa's dad played for SE... But I know Dominic fairly well from TV and FM2016. I think he was born and raised in the UK. He is definitely not 'Nigerian' and if he was good enough he would probably be playing for England I understand your point though...and your position is very sound. It's just annoying that these short1 players only remember us when they want to use idea to get international cap. As I'm typing this, I'm just seeing Shola Bag of Beans Ameobi in my minds eye and I feel like puking |
raumdeuter:I swear I just dey laugh like fool for train...especially cos na so me sef dey defend ![]() |
lalaboi:You are arguing purely for the sake of argument. I went back memory lane listing some of the foreign born/raised dross that have turned out in the green and white simply because they could never play for England. My original post, when placed in it's proper context was a response to Ibime advocating callups for Dominic Iorfa, Jordan Obita and Moses Odubajo...who in my opinion are just more of the same type of foreign born/raised dross who can't make into the national teams of the countries they were born/raised in. Sunday Mba? Really? Have you even being following up on this guy? wrongest decision to play for a league 2 french team and has not even progressed outside naijaAgain you are missing the point. SE provided the springboard for these guys to launch their careers outside Nigeria and move to Europe. I think that we should be prioritising SE shirt to Nigerian league players where possible. Obviously foreign based talented players should be in the squad, but when it comes to picking from a pool of foreign shyt and Nigerian shyt, surely the Nigerian based shyt should get dibs, No? |
lalaboi:Completely different argument.... I'm not arguing against foreign based players....I'm arguing against foreign born players...and to be more particular, the foreign born players that are too shyt to turn out for their countries of birth, and are using Nigeria as an escape route to International Football. Hence my examples were Abbey George, Danny Shittu, Shola Ameobi or Victor Anichebe....and not Victor Moses or Ighalo Iwobi's call up is more of securing his long term services for Nigeria. Or you think England would not call him up for an international had he not played for Nigeria before and we were trying to poach him?. Look what they did to Agbonlahor and co. . Iwobi whether you like it or not with his less than 10games so far this season is worth the call. How many games did Obafemi martins play for inter before getting called up for international duty and beasting on his debut?I most definitely don't think Iwobi is worth the callup. He's getting a run in the team merely because he just signed a new contract and Arsene is keeping him on side. Surely you must recognise that Iwobi is just the latest Incarnation of Wenger's Babes...The guy is not even that good sef. Until our local league is on the same level as those playe din south africa/egypt and co, our local based players will not be good enoughPlayers who are regularly playing in the NFPL should be picked over the Bench Warmers. Efe sodje was born in England, lived in England and was warming the bench at a League 2 side when he first turned out for the SE.Sam Sodje was playing league 1 football. Na these type we suppose dey call up at the expense of local talent? I'd rather pick the likes of Sunday Mba, Oboabona and Egwueke, expose their talent to the world, and help them to get a better life via Internationals than pick a Shola Ameobi who rode the bench his entire career, plays like a bag of beans, and was still playing for Nigeria at the World Cup even after being sacked from his club. |
Blood is thicker than water. And Family is EVERYTHING. Respect to that senior bros. He did his duty |
Johann Cruyff is dead. Rip. The guy is described as one of the best that ever did it. Did any of you lot watch him play? Afrodoc2 Raumdeuter Ibime |
lalaboi:I disagree bro. Ameobi and those names I mentioned previously were just as crap, they only got into the SE via this same prejudice. You mean Iwobi that has probably played less than 10 games this season and only started 1 league game in his whole life deserves a call up? If we're going to play crap players, at least let us play local crap and at least give them a chance to showcase what little talent they have |
Justwise disguy why did you hide my post? |
I think that Life Abroad is better because Nigerians just have no chill. The last time I was in Nigeria two things happened to remind me of why I'm happy to live away from that country of opportunists 1. We just arrived at MMIA and we're queuing up to at the immigration/customs desk. One elderly woman went to cut in at the front of the queue ahead of a young guy man who obviously resisted. She started abusing him and asking if he couldn't see she was an elder, and that if she cut in, doesn't he have respect? Etc. I could see that she was holding a British Passport and I'm sure she knew that she couldn't try that BS in the country she just came from- Yet here she was, Iya Arugbo turned Gangster Mama...and she hadn't even officially checked in to the country yet! No Chill. 2. I went to my local bank branch to aclimate my dormant account and apply for an ATM card. Whilst at the customer service desk, everybody refused to Queue and literally just surrounded the desk. Anybody who knows the former oceanic bank at Fagba railway would understand what I mean. Anyway I stood there patiently, waiting for a gap in the human wall to open up so that I could at least be served, when the customer service advisor announced that the computer had stopped working and we would all have to wait for the IT technician to come from another branch to fix. Being from an IT background myself, I offered to, and was able to identify the problem and actually got the issue fixed. Before I could even benefit from the fruit of my own labour, I was promptly chanced by an opportunistic woman who had clearly seen me fixing the damn machine. Other customers abused the woman, but she refused to back down. It was only when the customer advisor refused to serve her until she joined the back of the queue that she piped low. No chill. That's why I love living 'in abroad' I really no get power for gragra EDIT: the post was initially hidden by a mod for no reason at all. I had to post two queries asking why it was hidden. This post was then unhidden, whilst my queries were.. no explanation was given, no apology tendered. Absolutely no chill at all. |
Ibime:I'd rather local players than foreign trash. I was just saying to my guys how Super Eagles never get the quality foreign players. Players like Alli, Ross Barkley, Ikechi Anya or even Femi Ibe. Instead with get the turds of the foreign born battalion - The Aptly named Danny SHITtu, Abbey George and the entire Sodje dynasty. AMEOBI. Even Carl Ikeme that can't see regular shirt at Wolverhampton is our undisputed number 1. I'd rather NPL players who are full Naija Jare..rather than the crap ones who knew they could never make England using us as a last chance for caps. |
Sinizia I am also interested in purchasing some hype for myself and my family. It is my earnest desire to be percieved as having a flat sculpted stomach, instead of continuing to be seen as someone who swallowed a calabash |
Brigadier7:You've clearly never worked in a civilised workplace before... |
I dont know if you can see 'reading of the game' on TV though. Reading of the game happens off the ball. Camera follows the ball and doesn't show defensive actions of rhe ball relatively often I think that saying ferdinand was a fantastic reader of the game if you havrnt watched him live is a scam... |
chic2pimp:I didn't know that it was OgheneMaro of...I used to know one oniMaro in secondary school and just assumed that any Maro was an OniMaro. I dont think England has improved the way he hyped it. Jones came in talking about playing a style of rugby that nobody had seen before. You guys keep believing tbe hype. I just dey wait for summer tour. Australia go beat una blue black. |
