You got me wrong , the best is high purchase, if you say you want rental the big disadvatage of rental of that the driver will not see the car as his own but something he needs to maximize from thereby destroying the car, but if you do HP, the man knows after he meets the target, the car will be his, I almost got into an agreement for HP with u but I backed out because I was doing somethings. i ts a 3.2 million naira deal but the car is worth 1.3m , that is fair on all sides, because since you are the risk taker u need to get at leat 100% of your investment within two years which is good enough , the driver on his part knows that after two years the car becomes his. So its a win win situation, if you go for rental, the driver will want to make sure he maximize his effort so he may be targeting g a weekly income of 150k n if he get let say 80k out if it weekly , in three months he leaves your car totally battered while u gain at most 400k within that three months
#3.2 million for a #1.3 million car is way too much! This is what makes hp fail!
The question to ask the car owner is how he/she arrives at the hp total.

Bank loan for #1.3 million at 30% interest, over a 2 year period (the typical hp period) sets you back by #2.3 million over the same period - looking at interest and bank charges.

Well....you can expect to spend about half your earnings on fuel.

So if fill your tank with 10k and midday you discovered u made 10 k already....you are doing great

Depending on your driving habits a full tank can take you 3 days conveniently.

Strongly agree. Only in December did I ever earn more than my partner weekly. On top 5-6trips per day.
I miss December.

Me sef have join Chillex (PhD. Ub) in looking for . 30k rental partner. I can't come and kee myself. The work is getting tougher.
Boss, you just corroborated my point .. "only a few"
This work is like a marathon - it involves mental and physical strength and an uncommon resolve. It involves the driver pushing himself to his limits, yet ensuring he doesn't tip over the edge. There are only a few drivers like that. These kind of drivers gross net #180,000 to #200,000 in a good week, and nothing less than #140,000 in a bad week

Quick one.
Nigerians can be horrible. I did a drop off at Dominos, immediately another request came in, ME ope new request without waiting, I quickly called the lady, and told her I was already at dominos so she should come out let’s go, then I hardly hear what she’s saying, she talks as if am talking to a baby, you knw when somebody gives a little girl fone to talk, so I kept on saying Hello can you hear because I hardly hear her, one mind already told me to cancel and look for another request, buh I said no let me use it to complete my trip, so I heard her say just give me 5min and I will be out, so I said okay, 10min later I called her that am still waiting she said she’s coming out, now it’s 30min I ve not seen this lady, I called she said she’s outside.
I said outside which side coz, I described were I was she said okay she’s comin to me, 35min nobody, I was angry then bcoz my mind told me to cancel when it was 3min only and I refused.
Last last this lady told me she’s not going again that her boyfriend said his going to drop her, I nearly cry, because I saw the signs and ignored it.
My standard operating procedure - after arriving at pick up location, I call the rider to let the rider know I have arrived. 5 minutes later, I call again to let rider know I've been there for 5 minutes. 10 minutes later, I call rider to let him/her know I'm leaving.
And of course, I do leave after 10 minutes

My rider almost made me have an accident just now. She did a stopover at TFC Opebi, so I'm doing this quick update.

I picked her up from WaterCress Hotel on Oritshe Street, Ikeja. She was with a male guy, who gave her a wad of #1,000 and #500 notes when she got into the front seat of the car.
Her destination is River Valley Estate, Berger, but she requested to do a stopover at TFC Opebi to buy salad.

On our way, she made a call.
"Hello dear, how far? How are you?"
"Sorry I couldn't call you yesterday night, I was tired after bathing. I fell asleep"
I was like "haa!". I sha maintained and held on to my steering wheel.
I think her boyfriend must have asked her where she was
"I'm going to Berger with my aunty. Today is her son's birthday; we want to pick some things for his party"

I looked around ... Maybe my GPS is faulty; we are on Allen Avenue. And where is the aunty, please? Am I her aunty? Oya give the phone to your aunty now, let her greet your boyfriend.

How do ladies do this? Anyway, shebi Na driver I be. Let me hold my steering and face front

There are some guys there close to the fence. Just tell them temporary parking, that you want to pick someone, then give them #200. They will let you be

You need to know that Marina-broad street-Nnamdi Azikiwe street stretch very well before you can make a legal and successful pick up there. If not, .... CBD yard will be your portion.
I simply tell my riders when I get a request there - Meet me inside Oando filling station at Marina or at Mr Biggs restaurant on Broad Street, chikena. Anyone that can't do that is on his/her own

Possible, my point. Uber takes off 30k from the 120k left with 90k... Its very sure u will use up 30k-35k fuel. Let's pick 30k fuel.

U are left with 60k... Then u deliver 40k to dru and u will be left with 20k.

Now let's said u fast for 7days a week and wash your car all by yourself. Call card and internet nko.

I ve nothing again uber. I m just sharing exactly how it is for drivers and not the paper work we put down

As for the challenge... I swear I go chop your money. 70hrs 120k. Trust me u will spend more hrs to hit that... I not a jjc
You miss the point. I will gross #120,000 on Uber only. I never talk Taxify and offline trips. And trust me, I will do it in 70 hours.
Come down with your money na

Lies everywhere .. Over meet bawo... My keys are available if u can delivery 40k weekly and show me your 15k weekly savings as well. I doubt u will survive the next 2months using uber only.

Let's be plain here. I don't do uber just Taxify. 25% commission on gross earns is too much... Lobatan

I speak for myself. Do as u wish and stop deceiving in the name of encouraging drivers. OYO
Hello, I will do #120,000 gross on Uber alone next week (note that that will show up as #90,000 net earnings on my app). I will work 70 hours next week. If I achieve this, you will credit me with #10,000. If I fail, I will credit you with #10,000.
Deal?

Abi o ... to me the bottom line , is that your goal has a uber driver is to work hard ,hustle and than buy your own. Once u can have your own car , no need to kill yourself anymore. You can work three times a week and make 40k ... relax and chill small ..but u just have to put in the time.. And if u are lucky enough u might get a gud partner that can even sell off the car to you... like me for example if a driver does well and maintains the car. And he is able to save money, if he comes to me and say oga I have small money can you please help me buy a car.. Of course I will look for a car for him in Yankee without charging a arm and a leg. I will be more than happy to help.. Do u know that luck can pass by and I can get him a tokunbo car for 1m..
In business you need to build relationship, u scratch my back , I scratch yours... unfortunately most drivers don't see it that way , they see like they are doing you a favor ... drivers be gud to your partner especially if he is gud to you.. U never know how he might help you down the line. And I belife that most partners don't expect their driver to drive for them forever... this is my two cent on the matter... it is not easy for drivers ,but at the same time it is not easy for partners to come with money to buy a car ...let me even go back , my 04 civic the driver was saying 40k a week , was too much for like two months... when we did our inspection, my partner was so impressed with how the driver kept the car neat.. The driver was well dressed and cool headed and report got to me that sometimes the driver will use his own money to fix certain things in the car.. I was shocked and I asked the driver is 35k rental ok for you.. The guy said yes and he was happy.. Now if he comes to with 1m and says oga dru can you buy me a tokunbo car from Yankee.. I will gladly do it without charging him a penny...so people work together as a team , it is not easy for everybody and build a relationship with ur drivers and owners... rich people build relationships to open more doors for themselves o.. Poor people what are you going to do , be greedy and coz chaous ... a word is enough for the wise. Those that will hear will hear o, does that don't will continue to suffer unnecessary suffer ...
Nice one, sir

The campaign that would make uber repent.
Each time I get uber ride I leave my taxify app on until I pick the uber rider. Unless no taxify order came that's only when I will proceed with uber. If taxify ride comes I quickly accept and text the uber rider the above message and head straight to pick the taxify rider. Uber company should know Nigerian roads are bad. We can't fix car, buy fuel, pay ubers commission and be left with nothing. Say no to 25% commission
This is not good. Abstain from using the service, if you will; but don't ever malign the service.

A good OEM phone, with Android 7 for best results. I've used Infinix Smart before - it's 3g and hangs sometimes. My current phone is Motorola Moto C, 4g version. Costs about 27,000 at Slot. Perfect for the job, zero issues so far ( since I started using it last December)

Why's that? The driver won't take any break? Over working yourself isn't funny.
Let me use myself as an example. I work half days on Mondays and Tuesdays. I'm sure other drivers have their own rest days and times.
Sunday is definitely not a rest day in this business

experience is the best teacher. I nod a few times when I am tired, but after the first one, I look around for small shop to get something to keep my mouth moving (chewing gum, bitter kola) always keep some water in the boot it comes in handy, park and wash your face, it could buy you 15-30mins of wake time, but. Ultimately find a safe place to sleep.

Yesterday evening, around 7:00pm, I noticed I was tired and wasn't concentrating again; after dropping off my last riders at Lekki Gardens. I drove to the front of House on the Rock at Ikate, where there is plenty light, turned off the engine, rolled the windows down a bit and slept from 7:00pm to 9:30pm. When I woke up 9:30pm, I drove home straight (to Egbeda) empty and went to sleep. Better I burn #800 fuel than to crash my partner's car. I know my limits, I'm a pro.
