I was on Eric Moore jeje when this request came in on Uber. I saw 11 minutes to pick up location (boundary area, ajegunle). I called the rider immediately and told him I was on Badagry Express. "Should I come?" He said no, that I was too far away. I said OK, please cancel from your end. He said no, that Uber will charge him. I was trying to explain that Uber will not charge him if he cancels within 5 minutes, he abruptly ended the call.
I called him again and told him I'm probably the closest driver to him, that is why Uber pushed his request to me; and that I can be there in 10 minutes. He said 'oga, if you like, don't cancel. Me, I don't want Uber to charge me'. Again he abruptly ended the call.

See senseman .. I just drove to pick up location and slid my arrival button. I didn't even bother to call him to let him know I was there. After 5 minutes, I cancelled, "rider isn't here". I got my #300.00 cancellation fee

I registered with the Mtn line and I'm using a sim card slot phone. If I should change to 9mobile that means I will need to use my second phone to communicate with the rider which will be difficult when driving. Copying number from a phone to another. Is it possible to change my line on the taxify platform?

Yes and it's very easy.
Just go to your account settings and change your phone number. 2 minutes max, you will be done

So i carried a rider yesterday from Anthony to Oregun.It was at around noon she complained on my A/C which has a way of misbehaving between 12 and 2pm to a point she told me to go and fill the gas.After i dropped her i just went home cos it truly felt like na fan dey work. i then resumed work around 4pm na im A/C start dey chill as usual .i saw that my rating had dropped by 0.01 and i saw i had a new 1 star rating, i did not need a magician to tell me who gave me..i just dey vex say where she dey make she come reconfirm if i need to still top up my gas.i have had at least 5 5-star ratings between her trip and today as i write plus 2 excellent badges oh..walahi my rating no gree rise...Moral of the story be very wary of 1 star rating it can damage your ratings CV and take long to recover or rise again.

Still, the AC needs to be worked on. I'm no expert though. For my car, it's mortuary standard no matter how hot the day is. And I don't even put it on the highest. No rider has ever survived that

And guys, there's a difference between an inexperienced driver and a bad one. An inexperienced driver makes genuine mistakes or doesn't meet up with his obligations due to naivety.
A bad driver will make 150,000 a week and still not deliver, a bad driver is undisciplined. A bad driver wants to cheat. We need these kind of guys out of the system. The inexperienced ones, with a little bit of understanding and patience from car owners, will eventually become good

Desperation to just get going doing something. Most drivers in that situation think they can manage and edge, as they do their work day after day. That was possible when everything was buoyant, when a driver could gross #30,000 cash in one working day

Driver-partners, ensure to test the car like u are buying a car, before you pay #assurance.

Ask them why the previous driver dropped the car, even request for the ex-drivers number to ascertain what you are jumping into.

Most of these car-owners are liars. Quote me.

One lady has requested me like that before on Taxify. I was hurrying out of Island around 4:30pm when her request came in. Calling her, she told me one long story of how her car is not starting inside Walter Carington, and that I should start the trip and start coming; she wants to use my battery to jumpstart hers. I was already at MUSON, about to climb 3rdMB. I just told her my car brainbox will reset if I disconnect the battery, and drove on.
I could have turned around to help her, but I had a feeling, from her commanding tone, she was one of these "entitled" people who will feel they are doing you a favour

I don’t drive on any of the platform but I am a rider on both platforms.

So from a Rider perspective, please note the following:

1. Never try to impress a rider. You become too nervous which isn’t too good. Just be yourself. Be natural and be real. It is like you seeing a babe you like and want a relationship if you try to impress her, you become nervous and would eventually scare her away instead of attracting her to yourself. Be Yourself.

2. Be Courteous - As a service provider, be friendly and courteous. It is like you visiting a bank, the Security Man would greet you welcome, open the door for or guide you on how to open the door, you enter the bank and the teller welcomes you with a smile. You feel at home and welcome. Try and do that for your rider. A simple Good Morning/Afternoon or Evening and how was your day today. If you observed he or she is carrying something open your trunk and offer to help in any little way you can.

3. Be Open - If you’re not familiar with my destination do not make me believe you’re. Missing a turn or a roundabout automatically turns to a delay. If your rider is rushing for a meeting and you missed a turn, he or she wouldn’t be happy. Asking for help with direction or the best route to the destination from the rider doesn’t make you weak instead it opens a line of communication between you and your rider. Let him/her lead the conversation, if he/she is interested.

4. Do be Dubious - Some drivers think they are smart by being dubious. A driver start my trip yesterday before getting to me. I saw the car enter the building I was and he was going to make a u-turn then he start the trip and 5 minutes after the guy still didn’t show or call me, since it’s a cash trip, I cancelled, left him 1 star and a terrible review. I then requested another driver who end up collecting 5 star with awesome review.

5. Network & Connect with your colleagues, collect their mobile number, ask them personal questions relating to the business. Don’t be stingy with them. You can buy them[b] a bottle of their favorite drink [/b]and see how open they will be with you about the business. If you check the thread you have answers to what they drink. A bottle or two is enough.

6. Don’t take it personal - As some experienced drivers stated on this thread, you would meet some terrible rider who would still rate you low no matter how well you do or treat them. Just learn the lesson and move on.

7. Your Driving - Not all riders love speed and nobody likes a slow driver. Do not speed if you’re not familiar with the route because Lagos have some terrible road networks with potholes. Be careful and attentive.

8. A/C - Please put on your a/c before you get to the rider. Also ask questions? Is the a/c too much or just okay.

Don’t be discouraged, be patient and consistent. The road to success isn’t usually a smooth ride. What you’re going through now is part of what form your experience on the job and in the business.

This evening got a request at v.I going to surulere, while on the trip at costain bridge decided to check the fare, I saw 1400, got to destination ended trip I saw 1000, tried explaining to the rider that it was GPS error, she said no that it's just 1k she has. I just smiled and said goodnight coz I know it will catch up to her

Funny, I check my trip fare during the trip; especially towards destination; and it's always slightly higher when I end the trip. I'm thinking the phone is not OK for the app

I saw an Uber/Taxify car being towed by those stupid goons inside airport. Guys, in airport zone, never ever stop anywhere except inside a designated car park or departure/arrivals areas.
If you have to pick up somebody outside of arrivals/departures areas, call the person and ask for what he/she is wearing. Explain to him/her that you will not stop until you see the person waiting. Then drive slowly around the airport (use the roundabouts to rotate) and stop, only when you see the person waiting for you. Stop, throw luggage in back seat, let rider hop in and off you go! 10 seconds max!

I live in Gowon estate Egbeda. Once it's 9pm and you are ready to go home, use destination trip on Uber. Set your destination to Egbeda. The worst that will happen is you will get trips to Agege or Ikeja; from where you can now drive home.

I know of two Safe places to sleep over in the car on the island - Oniru, beside City of David or just across the road from City of David; and Eko Hotel roundabout. Both places are lighted and there are police patrol vans parked like 200m away, so nobody will disturb you there

Really do not know why riders when you get to their pickup location they will be like give me some time I will be with you shortly, 3-10mins you don't see them and when they finally show up after several calls they will want you to do fast and furious on Lagos road!!!! I picked up one of those riders yesterday; Bamidele Eletu Way to Airport. Dude told me I was too slow, as we went through Lekki - Osborne Road. I kept quiet, I told myself I will show this man pepper today. In my mind I was just praying for 3rd Mainland bridge to be free.
Then we entered third mainland bridge, and to God be the glory, it was free.

I presently use a Motorola Moto C phone, 4g Version. It sells for like 27,000 at Motorola Store beside Slot, Ikeja; or at Slot Ikeja itself.
Zero issues for 4 months, good performance. Buy a fast car charger with it

Guys check Uber promotions calendar, there is guaranteed fares everywhere everyday this week. This is a good week to do Uber.
Stay on the road, the trips will come.
