I use mi 9t and i haven't experienced anything you are saying. Unless you use the front camera all the time, you won't experience anything. The notchless design is future proof, cause must phones in the future will be using indisplay camera sensor. The display panel of the phone is made by Samsung. I didn't notice any difference between a50 and this phone.

Go on gsmarena and read user opinions thread.

It's an issue with long term use. I think it's an indicator as to why the pop up selfie wasn't adopted on a lot of brands & models.

The notch and cut hole (o-infinity) is more popular. The in display is the next step that most brands will adopt.

Glad u don't/are yet to have that pop up cam issue.

The op, is looking for certain specs on the amoled display, not just one having it.

Samsung also makes the AMOLED panel for most of the iPhone X and 11 series.

Most AMOLED displays you see in phones are mostly Samsung and BOE. The premium Samsung AMOLED screens are reserved for the Flagship Notes and S series. So if you want a premium AMOLED experience you need to buy the flagships not their midrange series.

Never said otherwise. It's common knowledge that Samsung makes most panels of today.

If u read through, the op is not just looking for an amoled panel but one with above average def, ppi and resolution.

I hinted that the mi9t has some trouble with the pop up cam, that's all

don't get the mi9t. that pop up selfie cam gets sluggish with time or just doesn't respond in some cases.

advice: if its display u want, stick to the Samsung cos no other brand does the panel better

gcam beats it hands down 4m experience.

I’m yet to find a flagship android phone with a better Face ID scanner.
Before you come at me, I use both OS

And i am yet to see any complaint on android tech/apps especially on the premium lines like the Galaxy S series and Huawei P series.

Face ID is a minute reason to buy a phone, especially to a tech savy person.

You make me laugh. First off, all Samsung phones that you so highly praise are mass produced, assembly line products that cost a fraction of the retail price. Where's the class in that?

Second, Rolls Royce that you brought into a phone conversation justify their cars based on things like expert craftsmanship, superb performance, the best build quality, beautiful styling etc. These aren't intangibles and they don't just parrot "class" about, they offer you a better product. Their cars are practically handmade and no, the volkswagen golf will not give you these.

So you just effectively compared a mass produced product(sold by the millions) to a niche product that's almost always made to order. Next time, take the time to think of a good analogy instead of grabbing the next most expensive item that comes to mind.

Samsung makes a lot of phones, ranging from low end to high end. Any sensible and not-deluded buyer will look at the particular product and compare it to the competition before pulling the trigger, instead of brand buying and deceiving themselves with an oxymoron like "classy mass market product".

Which phone isn't mass produced?... Samsung makes more from the midrange line than it does from its premium line i.e the S series, Apple doesn't make midrange due to their stuck up business strategy, but they saw the business and money Samsung is making from its midrange line and they now picked up this strategy with the launch of the iphone se 2020!.

The Samsung A50 was the best selling phone in europe in 2019... it's business boy!

2ndly, the rolls royce is a car and the golf is also a car, both will take u from point a to point b, going by your analogy earlier, class shouldn't be a determinant in making a choice of purchase...


I highlighted that in the comparison of both cars all things being equal in terms of functionality.

I have nothing against iphones, they are cool phones but, it's not my thing, as i said earlier in my comment.

The restrictions, their lcd screens and their notches and not to mention not so good designs are not for me.

I love to customize, run hd movies on amoled gorgeous screens, clone and run various apps and ilove good looking designs the Samsung phones offer.

Not to say others may not like what i like nor buy iphones cos of the apple logo, to you.. yours and to me.. mine.

You know, it's not just raw specs that most people consider when buying phones. Going by specs alone, iPhones has the lowest specs (RAM, megapixels, mah etc) out there but very good experience overall. Many people will feel good just to own a Samsung (A-series) phone that can do what they want, even if it's slightly costlier than some other Chinese brands. And those people are greater in number than spec-conscious geeks like us.

many peeps fall in this category, I'm one of them, a xiaomi might have better specs compared to price than a Samsung midrange also, compared to price in same range.

But, personally, i feel my smartphone is an extension of my overall person, and so, i just don't mind spending the extra bucks to get the sophistication and class the Samsung brings.

I've had to cut down on phone expenses recently, as i have always been a Galaxy S series user, i don't like the restrictions on ios, but the latest A series have the looks, juice and sophistication of the S20 series for a lesser price.

so i will get the A71 as my next daily driver.

the S8 plus is great and it has most of the specs of a 2020 mid ranger.

fingerprint, face id, update to android 9, gorilla glass front and back, aluminium premium feel and look.

the best rear cam i have used in my life, the selfie is not that good.

3000mah ba3 which lasts.

the A51 is ok for youtube, good camera, ba3 not the best on heavy use, not good 4 gaming cos of the chip.

the A71 is the best A series so far but more expensive.

I'm going to get the A71 later in the year wen the price drops.

The wifi issue is being noticed wt the redmi note 9 series by users in forums.

The selfie cam on the mi9t has also bn reported to get slow or stalls after sometime and i guess that's y motorized pop up cams aren't the best.

anyway, for 130k i can understand yr frustration.

Get on forums (not nairaland.com) e.g gsmarena *read opinions* section to get real life user thoughts and issues when going for any device in future.

the phone is okay, but design wise is past its time.

i detest lcd screens.

i detest phones weighing more than 175g.

the chip is great, but I'm not a phone gamer. So, not really a plus there.

the xiaomi ui leaves a lot to be admired.

overall, it's a workman's phone that will get the tasks done (esp games. camera is meh.. but decent battery)

at the nearest possible time, buy a land in a developing area.. build 2-3 mini flats for rent.

keep one within or outside the flats for yourself.

once you achieve this, if u r tired of the stressful banking job, budget 500k to buy a federal govt slot.

resign and move to the less stressful govt job (preferably lecturing) use the spare time to go into a business u r passionate about.

I know of someone who worked in this top banks earning similar amount as u are. he followed this plan above, saw it through in 10 years.

Na big boy now, he earns govt pay, collects his rent every new year and has peace of mind.

People will think u r using an S20.

A bit pricier though, but phone prices will drop after the lockdown issues nationwide.

The Redmi note 8 is good but not as good looking and it is thick and heavy.. a turn off 4 many.

The A30 is not as wow! as the A71.

It depends mostly on wat u do most wt ur phone.

Don't rush, google all suggestions and decide once u feel fully convinced
