horsepower101: Hausa and Yoruba clashes have become so common in “Yoruba land” that I have lost count.
Yet no yoruba ever tells northerners to respect their host.
Igbos don’t even fight them at all and pay all the heavy taxes levied at them both legal and illegal including buying land at inflated prices
yet yorubas always screams respect your host at igbos.
I realize that they do this to igbos because they know that igbos are not violent people and are very tolerant. Northerners control Lagos waterways that's why they are very careful with them |

obehi247: Before 1960, a referendum was held in the UK and it was agreed upon that people of unique ethnicity would form a state or region and a total of six state or region was identified with people of unique ethnicity, they include:
(1) The Northern region (2) The Middle belt region (3) The Western region (4) The Mid Western region (5) The Core region (6) The Eastern region
Keyword: " people of unique ethnicity" especially with similarities or historical link, because of the pre-existing relationship.
Unfortunately, only the Midwestern region was created before the 1966 coup. And Delta Ibos didn't ask for their federating unit to be unified with the Eastern region because they insisted didn't that they don't share any thing in common with the Eastern region.

Omooba77: Yoruba Nation: The coming storm
By Wale Adedayo
At the height of the contrived crises, which destroyed the once powerful pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, the leaders believed they were invincible. Eighteen years after, even those of them, who have passed on to the great beyond, would have realised by now that ‘Omode gbon, agba gbon ni a fi da Ile Ife.” Wisdom has never been the exclusive preserve of the rich and powerful. They disdained counsel from those “who have not been born since they began participating in politics.”
It appears the South-West leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) did not learn much from the fate that befell Afenifere. Son of man is not a Prophet. But I dare declare that if Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu does not review certain issues soon, the situation of the APC National Leader’s political family might be worse than that of the old Afenifere in five years time. And that will just be the beginning, because other unsavoury actions against his interests and business concerns are bound to follow from the same Cabal that is making every effort to ease the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, out of office.
Concerns about how Osinbajo was being treated shortly after President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office for a second term were much across Yorubaland. But not many realised that The Cabal in Abuja returned to the 48 Laws of Power to get the job of disgracing Osinbajo out of office achieved. “You need a cat's-paw— someone who does the dirty, dangerous work for you. The cat's-paw grabs what you need, hurts whom you need hurt, and keeps people from noticing that you are the one responsible. Let someone else be the executioner, or the bearer of bad news, while you bring only joy and glad tidings.” - http://48laws-of-power..com/2011/05/law-26-keep-your-hands-clean.html
Yes, The Cabal is the major architect of Osinbajo’s travails. But the conductors of the narratives against Osinbajo are two prominent Yoruba leaders, who believe they’ll succeed Buhari in 2023 once the vice president is out of the way. But they are mistaken. And, definite facts from our history in relationship with how the predecessors of The Cabal relate with us confirm that the Afonja treatment is waiting for our naive leaders. Late Col. Victor Adebukunola Banjo’s major sin was a past association of his father with the NCNC. Nobody among late Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s associates remembered that Banjo’s grandfather was active in the Anglo-Ijebu war of 1892, where he excelled in trying to defend the fatherland.
Great Awo pitched his tent with the predecessors of today’s Cabal, despite a golden opportunity to insist on a Confederal Nigeria as late Col. Odimegwu Ojukwu had suggested. But Awo’s associates were wary of an ‘NCNC boy’, Banjo, coming to rule the West. Besides, any Intelligence official, reading the files of those years before the civil war, would have come to son of man’s conclusion that Awolowo accepted to be Gen. Yakubu Gowon’s deputy and Finance Minister because after the war, there will be a return to ‘democracy’. And, he would have been the ‘only’ key ‘national leader’ left on the scene. Thus, with an eye on becoming Nigeria’s president after the war, the earlier agreements that Banjo should rally friendly troops to prepare us for the way of Biafra was abandoned on the altar of selfish ambition! And, what became of Awo’s ambition later?
As for those using God’s name to commit perfidy, due to unfulfilled political ambitions, their recompense will be worse than what befell the late Samuel Ladoke Akintola’s family across Yorubaland in the late 1960s and 1970s. Being able to read the Holy Bible and draw enough lessons for the undiscerning is not the same thing as being anointed by God. To Olodumare be all the praises, not one of their predictions have come to pass since 1999, despite the serial use of God’s name to promote a political interest that is a direct opposite of what a genuine Yoruba wants. The writer is very much on point |

Is the state owned transport service a new thing? You must be too young to know about LSTC in the 80s and 90s. 1983- Igbo aligned with the North to remained VP 1993- Third Republic - Igbo aligned with the North to Vote Tofa at expense of Southern Candidate in the Person of Abiola [s]1993- 1998- Igbo aligned with Abacha for Life Presidency at the expense of NADECO movement for restoration of Democracy in Nigeria. It is an irony that no Politian of Igbo extraction was jailed during Abacha regime, because they were the one singing his praises at the expense of the Yoruba, who were at the forefront of the fight against the military and dictatorship. Most Yoruba stood and fought Abacha, many of them were jailed and some died in Prisons including Abiola . Yoruba don't run from fight like Ojukwu and Nnamdi Kanu did[/s] Nonsense and rubbish propaganda as usual. While Tinubu, Soyinka, Fayemi and co were hiding in London, brave Igbo men like Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu were using their clout to host secret NADECO meetings in his house. Abraham Adesanya and co affirmed this. Should we start listing how yoruba leaders created the Seme border escape route and how many of them escaped? While Yoruba leaders were going to collect money from Abacha to betray Abiola, two Igbo men Bobo Nwosisi and Ralph Obioha followed MKO Abiola to the podium where he made the Epetedo declaration. That's Igbo spirit for you..always loyal to a fault even when we should not. Ralph Obioha had his banking license withdrawn by Abacha and Bobo Nwosisi died in exile. What did your Indian hemp leader Tinubu lose in the struggle? Let's not even get into Chief Olisa Agbakoba who was locked up countless times as leader of Civil rights groups.Even 5 year old kids know him What of Late Chima Ubani or Senator Chris Anyanwu the brave Igbo woman who almost lost her sight in Abacha's detention. Ikechunna: What do you expect from people who think the only way of development is the dying resources of oil or people who believe road building is the main signs of productivity or people who struggle with definition of referendum. I don’t even waste my precious time anymore on their speech on Biafra. Their Niggeria need those speeches, advises and concerns more so than Biafra.
Regarding your last statement, I’m going to assume your usage of SE states is just an example and not a direct omission of the rest of us that aren’t SE cause if it is, that’s bleeped up. we have contributed significantly in the current Biafra agitation and still have. In Delta Igbo, we’ve put in our quota. Heck, the first protest for NK release occurred on our side. We ignited the protest for him. Rivers Igbos have equally done their part as well but since I’m not one of them, I won’t speak for them. I do hope your usage is for example and not direct omission.
Anyway, what you said is a fact. One thing the Europeans got right about the African race unfortunately is that we have greedy leaders whom are money hungry. Money talk significantly in Africa. In addition, Niggeria does not have the power to stop any nation that build alliance with Biafra. No matter how much that deceive themselves as Giant of Africa, they truly are not. You are very perceptive! That figure was just an example from the SE states. If you add the Igbos in Delta and Rivers States plus the ones who will choose to leave Nigerian states it would go up by at least USD30m. I just used it for a tough example because the stats which I got from Budgit for Delta state covers all the different tribes. See eh it makes me lmao when i read nonsense that Nigeria will somehow be able to cage a country with about 30m+ people in event of a split. Not possible. Maybe in the 1960s and 1970s that these people are still dreaming of but not today |
