oz4real83: Gej has wasted the turn of South south. It would have been the turn of south east for justice sake if they had known how to play proper politics. In the absence of south east, the next turn is south west. I honestly don't care for an Igbo president but this talk about SE not playing good politics is why many of us have no more interest in Nigeria as structured and why likes of Nnamdi Kanu have so many followers South East voted a SW man (Obasanjo) in 1999 & 2003 and rejected Ikemba Ojukwu, Voted North (Yar Adua) in 2007, Voted South-South (GEJ) in 2011 and 2015. What again do you people want? What then is good politics? |

wirinet: GEJ democrat per excellence? How? Even GEJ's wife and children would not hero worship the way you worship the former President. GEJ's government that harassed media houses, national assembly and APC offices?
How was it possible for Amaechi to be in jail today, when he was governor during Jonathan's administration? Please explain.
Here is a review of some "freedom" enjoyed during the tenure of your democrat per excellence as posted by a nairaland member with intact memory. https://www.nairaland.com/4012359/review-freedom-enjoyed-under-goodluck I should not celebrate the most democratic administration ever in Nigeria because you are bitter? Buharideen logic is always upside down while trying to be smart by half Are ex-governors not going to jail today? Was Lai Mohammed also a governor? Nice try though... |

wirinet: Which freedom enjoyed under GEJ. You guys will forever wail GEJ's election loss, even when GEJ and his people have since moved on.
If sowore called for an unconstitutional change of government during GEJ's time, he would been cooling his heels in prison. If any US citizen boasts he will bundle Trump out of office, while holding rallies for a revolution, the FBI and secret service would have dealt with him. Rubbish. If GEJ was not a democrat per excellence, the likes of Amaechi and Lai Mohammed would be in jail today “Let us remind the presidency, in case it has forgotten, that election fraud triggered a civil war in Algeria in the early 1990s, led to the killing of over 1,000 people in post-election riots in Kenya in 2007/2008 and fired a near revolution in Iran in 2009/2010"-Lai Mohammed

ColonelEmeka: Sowore never miscalculated. He knew exactly what he was doing and what he was aiming for. He said and i quote
"I'm not talking of protest. I'm embarking on revolution. 85% of Nigerians are in support. Don't tell me about legal implications or what a Judge will say. I don't care. We must bundle Buhari out of that place...the DSS shall seize to exist!"
With the words in red you can see he never miscalculated but knew what he was doing Bros the man does not have the capability to remove NURTW in his village. You can't convict a man for treason only on the basis of his trash talking unless you can show us actual plans to overthrow this government. Sowore just forgot he wasn't talking the trash as a blogger but as a presidential candidate who had lost an election. That's why I say the freedoms he and his comrades enjoyed under the last administration really went to their heads. Created hubris |

If this all the FG has on Sowore then it's not enough to convict him with. Sowore just miscalculated. The climate of freedom enjoyed under GEJ really gassed him up.
Buhari no send you. Even if they can not prove Sowore had real plans to remove the government they will just embroil him in the judicial process as payback for misyarning |

oyatz: You are trying to give answers to a question that was never asked.
1) Was the South ever a monolithic and united political entity? Let's assume that the South was a united political entity, must everybody in the South belong to or support the PDP to prove this 'unity'?
Even in the North all the States have NEVER voted for only one party.
2)Our democracy can only grow when the citizens have plurality of options. The idea that only one political party should continue to win the presidential election doesn't augur well for the country.
Democracy is NOT limited to the 2015 or 2023 elections. It's a continuous process.
Those who are not in power today will be in power tommorow, if only we are patient enough.
3) The Yoruba people know what favour them or not.
4) The Almighty reigns in the affairs of men. He gives power to whoever he wants.
ONLY God can authoritatively says whether Tinubu will be president or not. @ the bolded, you butted into my conversation with a hackneyed, straw-man allegation of Igbos "trying to make Tinubu a hate figure" instead of addressing the facts then proceed to answer questions that NOBODY asked you, is that you really don't see the irony or you are just pretending ? 1 & 2. I never mentioned PDP or said they must rule forever so why are you bringing it up when it never arose ? Even if the south has always been politically diverse, the rabid anti-igbo drive that Tinubu has nurtured in yorubaland to stay relevant since 1999 is despicable. It's one thing to be diverse but it's another thing to sow hate and division in the name of politics. 3. You are talking as a Tinubu apostle. So you think Yorubas would not like to control their own ports and have the N1 Trillion annual customs revenue flow straight into yoruba coffers in a restructured Nigeria? 4. God has the final say of course but the same God has a law of sowing and reaping... |

It will only make more Yorubas to close ranks and rally round behind Tinubu. Trying to spin criticism of Tinubu as an attack on all yorubas by igbos is nothing new Tribal politics has NEVER favoured Yorubas and it never will... AutoReportNG: It was jubilation galore as residents of the Victoria Island-Oniru axis came out on Wednesday to witness the official flag off of the Victoria Island-Oniru axis road upgrading project by Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The project, which is being executed through Public Infrastructure Improvement Partnership (PIIP) arrangement”, was conceived and conceptualised four months ago by Planet Projects at the instance of Access Bank Plc, the major partner.

The aim was to improve the traffic linkage and travel time around the highly commercial axis of Victoria Island. It is believed that traffic congestion being experienced within the project area reduces productivity and discourage the growth of businesses.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Works, Mrs Aramide Adeoye, in her opening remarks, said the project is significant in a number of ways because it involves private sector participation, stressing that the private sector is seen as a critical partner in the growth and development of the economy of Lagos State.

Araoye said the private sector, which controls about eighty per cent of the State’s Gross Domestic product is crucial in the government’s drive to bridge the infrastructure gap and to also build the smart city of our dream.
She said: “Access Bank has keyed into one of the ways to realize the state’s objective of making Lagos a 21st-century economy by partnering with the State Government in Infrastructural upgrading of Oniru Network of roads under a Public Infrastructure Improvement Partnership (PIIP) arrangement.”
While flagging off the project, Sanwo-Olu said the partnership was another “deliberate action” to solve traffic congestion and relieve Lagos residents of pain.
“We came to this area about 4 months ago at a presentation at Four Points and we told our partners that immediately the rain subsides, we would come back and start with the development of the Oniru into Victoria Island from Lekki.
“I’m happy that within a short time frame, a lot of work has been done. We are here being the 3rd of December, and, with the stoppage of the rains, work can now start immediately.
The Governor said the project will be completed in six months.
https://www.autoreportng.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Sanwo-Olu_Commissions_VI_Road_001_AutoReportNG.com_.jpg
Giving details of the construction work, Planet Projects Managing Director, Mr. Biodun Otunola, said the project would lead to the construction of Alaba Oniru Road, Akingbolagbe Road to Muri Okunola Roundabout. He added there would be a regeneration of seven junctions prone to traffic on the axis.
Otunola estimated the total length of the construction work to be 1.8 kilometres, stressing that the construction would be purely concrete to ensure durability. He added that the materials to be used would be sourced locally.
He listed road improvement, junction improvement work, traffic system management measures and classification of roads as 1-way street as part of the proposed solutions in the project.
