I have heard it said somewhere that the colour of your roof should also be the colour of your window. How true is this?. For instance, can i use bush green step aluminum roofing sheet for my roof and then use cream colour aluminum for my windows?. I saw somebody use bush green for roof and also use use the same bush green for windows. |
@spyder880, I support your point that Brabus should do an indoor settlement with his client. Brabus should come clean with Ahonohai (indoor and not public) and tell him his present challenges (funds, materials etc) and then arrived at a way forward. The Nigerian system has a way of throwing quotes overboard. Most times, workers can disappoint. When i wanted to do my decking, everything was set but the workers went missing and went to somebody else that had a deeper pocket that was ready to pay more to have his done. So i missed the planned target which then made the decking aspect to spill over and it was at this point that the price of cement went over the roof. |
Somebody suggested cream colour step tiles roofing sheet to me. He said that it is durable, does not fade and can easily go with other colours especially aluminum windows. Anybody that has a picture of a cream aluminum roof should please paste. Iam yet to see any. |
Where in Ikosi is this located?. |
If that is what the Landlord wants, any special reason for wanting that?. Why not rent the place out to somebody that is looking for a duplex?. In addition, why the emphasis on ladies?. The man wan marry them?. As @Victorian has observed, sharing one sitting room and kitchen with 2 total strangers in an enclosure is strange. This is not a 'face-me-i-face-you' apartment. Who has control over the sitting room?. If one lady wants to furnish the sitting room to a particular format and the others want to do likewise in another format, what happens?. In addition, if their 'bobos' come around, who has priority over the use of the sitting room or if they decided to get down in the sitting room during a moment of intense passions and the others are coming there, what happens?. |
This picture was taken from the balcony in the picture above. The long blue line in the foreground shows the great River Niger.

This is the building that i want to roof. I want to use bush green step tiles because of what i saw in the post 'Roofing A 4 Bedroom Bungalow With Gatehouse (pictures)' by Spyder. This is supposedly the back of the building which opens to our family inner compound.

Somehow new to Nairaland and i have been following all the exciting threads by Oga Landlord (Spyder who abandoned us on SMN). I started my 4 bedroom duplex country home before i discovered this site. Iam now at the roofing stage. Just came back from home to see the extent of work before choosing a roofing colour. I have noticed something in some of the buildings i saw at home that were roofed with aluminum. The colour on the aluminum roofing sheet is already fading in some of the buildings. I also noticed this fading and peeling of colour in some buildings in lagos. Does it mean that fake aluminum sheet was used or is it the effect of weather?. In addition, how do you know the real aluminum roofing sheet. |
Time frames might not even work in this our Naija and factoring in inflation might not even work in this our Naija. Prices can go up within minutes. When the sellers want to increase prices, they do not consider inflation rate. I normally wonder how contractors and builders are able to break even in an uncontrolled environment like us. My brother is presently handling my duplex in the village. When i started last year December, if i had given money to a contractor based on a quotation, by now, it is either the contractor is asking for a variation or he using inferior materials or he is trying to abandon the job. A bag of cement has increased from about N1,400 to about N2,500. Even labour has increased. Those that give out jobs to genuine contractors should understand with them. The Naija system can throw all calculations into the dustbin within days and once prices start rising, they hardly come down. |
