I was a beneficiary of Oshobaba employment scheme which took in about 10,000 employees within his first 1yrs in government. I was employed in the 2nd batch of that scheme and I made my first 45k in life.
That employment was what God used to save me from total collapse, and it became the launch pad of my success story.

I very much agree Obaseki has being better when you weigh the balances due to the enabling environment for SMEs to thrive and business influx.
Obaseki has never owed civil servants and even paying 40k as minimum wage unlike Osho that killed pensioners with hunger and LG with no pay for 2yrs n still counting.
No employment was recorded in 8years under Osho baba but you can attest to the series of jobs and recruitment currently going on now.
With so much resources available under Osho baba during GEJ, Edo state is still paying and servicing debt incurred unlike this man who has decided not to borrow but looked to utilize PPP.
Osho had good roads with monitoring but Obaseki has being poor with monitoring but more in human capital development which is the bedrock for any society to develop. You can attest to the reforms and training with public servants.
Obaseki has building infrastructures springing up daily whereas the previous administration has none except the Edo hospital.
Overall, I still rate Obaseki above as a good manager of an economy and a visioneer.

Please I need ur opinions on this issue bothering me. I am a Industrial chemistry graduate. I graduated last year and just completed my NYSC. I want to go for postgraduate studies but I am having difficulties in making a decision on what to do.

Someone advised me to switch to Chemical engineering, (this will require a 1 year postgraduate diploma course) though I wouldn't mind if there's a guarantee I stand a very good chance in the labour market after the PGD and MSC. On the other hand, 2 bros in my area I respect so much discouraged me about switching. Both of them were of the opinion that it would rather keep me confused instead of helping me. That recruiters will consider a candidate with B.Eng Chemical engineering without a masters over me, while chemistry field will consider a chemistry msc holder over me also.
Bottom line, it's almost a waste of time especially here in Nigeria that I should just do msc in industrial chemistry.

I'm still young though. I Will be 22 on 27th of this month.

Go for Engineering but if you have the option of doing Chemical Eng. , Kindly ask if you can go for Production Eng. and if you can, choose Production instead.
Someone also suggested Health sciences which is a very good option.

Giving details of how he sold some of his properties and took a bank loan to build the Lekki house, he said: “A 4-bedroom duplex with 2 bedroom flat enclosed with 2 undeveloped plots at plot 4, block 14, Nuru Oniwo Street, Aguda Surulere, Lagos State, this is where I was living before moving to Lekki. The house was commissioned in 1972 by Chief Obafemi Awolowo.


A wing of the duplex was once occupied by a staff of the security outfit then known as “special branch” headed then by the late Alhaji M. D. Yussuf who later became Inspector General of Police when General Olusegun Obasanjo was the Head of State. It was later occupied by one of the wives of Chief Pius Akinyelure, who often visited his wife there in the company of Senator Bola Tinubu.
“The gate of this property was forced open by Abacha security forces when NADECO was holding a sendoff party for American ambassador Walter Carrington in my house, I took the Federal Government to court for damages and I was awarded #1million naira which has not been paid till today by the Federal Government, Mr Olisa Agbakoba SAN, was my counsel.

“The house was sold to St Baths Anglican Church, Aguda, Surulere.

Two storey building at Odedola Street, Surulere, Lagos State. I bought it through an Estate Agent by name Mr Shiwoniku who has relocated to UK, he has a brother who is a legal practitioner in Abuja.

“The house was sold to a Ghanaian by name Mr Akappo. He is still alive and he lives in one of the flats in the building.

“Four storey building with a warehouse on the ground floor and six flats on top. It was commissioned by Chief Awolowo in 1977.

“I inherited the plot of 45’X100’ from my mother Salamotu Anomo-Adebanjo, who built a bungalow on it.

“She bought the land when I was in primary school in 1940 from one Pa Idowu Onitiri for £20, which she paid by installment of £10, £7, £3. His son Akanbi Onitiri, executed the conveyance for me without extra payment after showing him the purchase receipts from his father, when I was developing it in 1976. Akanbi Onitiri is the father of Sumbo Onitiri, a well-known estate surveyor in Lagos.

“The building was sold to a woman through an estate agent.

I then took a loan from GTBank to complete the house in Lekki where I am living now.

When the interest on the loan became unbearable, I was compelled to sell the undeveloped land given to me by Chief Awolowo in Dide-Olu Estate in Maroko Victoria Island. One Mr. Ade Otusanya a friend of my son Femi Ayo-Adebanjo bought the land.

The contractor who built my Lekki house is Engr. Hakeem Sulaiman, Senior Partner of Messrs HA associates.

The Electrical and Mechanical Contractor is Engr. Tokunbo Oshokoya, Senior Partner of Messrs Oshea Projects.

The Architect is Mr Deji Johnson

The Quantity Surveyor is the late Otunba T. B Adebayo.

The Lekki property, the house in my village, Isanya Ogbo which I built 40 years ago, and 3 Bedroom flat in a townhouse, at Omorinre Street in Lekki, are the properties I have in the whole world.

I hereby authorise the EFCC to verify the above facts.

It is alleged that Chief Bisi Akande’s building at Ila-Orogun, which I understand is more than double in expanse of my house in Lekki and some other properties he has in Lagos and abroad were financed by Bola Tinubu. His house in Ibadan was also alleged to have been built by the contractor that built the secretariat in Oshogbo, when he was the Governor of Osun State.

I hereby challenge Chief Bisi Akande to clear the air by disclosing the source of financing these properties as I have done above.

“Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the great philanthropist should also disclose the source of his wealth with which he bankrolled the elections of APC in the Southwest and that of General Muhammad Buhari and his various properties in Lagos. He should also authorize the EFCC to verify such details as I have done above.”

I disagree with you. I worked at halliburton before leaving. The saber climes you mentioned provides credit facilities. This is not about minimum wage but about the standard of living. I asked a simple question, Are you valued and paid like it's done in saner climes? Do you know the facilities on ground for her citizens abroad? What you see here is a representation of all local governments in Kwara and their party members plus mobilised or what you call rented crowd for show off as it's normally done because they will be paid and quarrel will still end it at the end especially when you don't pay them 2 or 3k as promised.
The left over votable Nigerians in Kwara is x35 of this crowd here and those are the people who are tired of the mess we face in Nigeria today. Adebanjo and Fasoranti, not BAT who was nobody until Afenifere brought him out but has sold them out. He's a good administrator but a crook. He can't be trusted with Nigeria. He has hijacked the resources of Lagos state and it's being controlled from bourdillon.
Let's remember that this country won't be built by foreigners except us. BAT is not a good sell, he should have projected Osibanjo if he means well. Osibanjo knows and little will you wonder why he never wanted to step down because BAT is not for the Masses.
If Peter Obi who is also a good administrator is a better deal, he should be supported. He's younger and better at heart. Just take a look at what BAT did to Ambode, it's still very fresh. You should know the kind of person he is.
