Travel › Re: Why Do Nigerian Embassies Employ Foreigners by nlPoster: 6:14pm On Jan 02, 2020
koning:
Because they cannot and will never find an American in Nigeria that will do the same job for the salary they pay Nigerians living in Nigeria.
Why is it difficult for Nigerians to have a deep and insightful analysis of issues.

There is no job in any Nigerian embassy in Europe, USA or Canada in which you cannot find Nigerians legally resident in those countries that are willing to do the job. Why employ an Indian driver or receptionist in a Nigerian embassy in London, The Hague, New-York, berlin etc. when there are local resident Nigerians with work permits willing to do the job.

There lies the difference and that is what Op is talking about.
They employ foreigners because that's who they reserve the positions for, not they cant find Nigerians who would want to work there. They simply would not hire any who applied (assuming they heard of a vacancy), that's all.

And some of the posts are security related so they wouldn't just pick anybody to put there unless something is off and they have been compromised.

Ogie sounds like Okin which is also like Akin, meaning king.

Okin is peacock considered king of the birds.
Romance › Re: Check Out This Wedding IV In Pidgin English by nlPoster: 4:49pm On Jan 02, 2020
The pidgin doesn't seem authentic.

@ whoever wrote this.

Few examples:

"Base on how body take dey sweet us":

should be:

"As body dey sweet us yanfuyanfu"

"Based on say"

is also incorrect because pidgin does not have past tense in this manner.

So

"Based on say you na our own personal person"

should be:

"As you know say na you be our own personal person" or "As you be our own personal person" or "As we talk am say you be our own personal person"

"Na on the" should be "Na for"

"All of us go branch" should be "Everybody go branch"

My opinion.
Culture › Re: 12 True Facts You Have Never Heard About The Yoruba Nation by nlPoster:
Okanbi is a descriptive name (instead of the generally discussive name patterns of Yoruba) which means only one.

"Only one" could refer to a single gender among siblings of a different gender, or an only child.

Christianity Etc › Re: Whatever You Decide To Do On Jan 1 Is Your Business As Long As It's Not A Crime by nlPoster(op): 4:34pm On Jan 02, 2020
Until then.

Who/what defines what a crime is?
There is still a legal code defining what constitutes a crime. Not having the permission of someone to engage in personal activities not listed as crimes, is not considered a criminal offence.

Frowning at something or disapproving of it does not make it criminal. The criteria for what constitutes criminality is more detailed, not at whim or based on personal biases alone.

From op on another thread:

binarymachine:
Don’t disturb our timelines or statuses with annoying inspirational quotes of how you should be accepted for who you are. First, you are nobody and with that attitude, you probably won’t get far. Secondly, Nobody likes nonsense. Work on yourself!

Op on this thread:

binarymachine:
Anything you are doing and it makes you truly happy, you love and enjoy doing it, hold on to it very tight. Be it your . . .hobby, just never let go. This is the only way to attain true happiness and fulfillment in life. Hold onto and keep doing whatever makes you happy.

Why I cant lead Nigerians and nlers is because I really dislike people not using their gumption. Something as personal as your decision to drink on new year's day now disturbs my cyberspace with a meaningless question.

I have found some folks really do lack basic sense.

If he or she posts that on a public forum how does it affect you? I'm curious.

I dont like when people try to restrict others freedom of speech for no reason and when they broke no laws.

Rapmoney:
You guys have very myopic and parochial reasoning. So women can no longer discuss sexuality freely? huh You think discussing sexuality is exclusively for males, right?

All these folks who come online to deceive people with their hypocritical nature.

The truth is that many people who make it look like sexual issues are shocking online are the real sex freaks, serial rapists and even child molesters offline.
Describe yourself if those apply to you.

I wont take it funny if I see anybody trying to slander me.

Seems you people always have your minds full of filth and you think everyone is the same way.

Some people are better mannered than others. That is not a crime, quit trying to slander and malign them simply because they do not stoop to your level of pettiness and malice. It doesnt mean they feel they are better than you, there is no need to project your personal issues on them.
