Ara means, friends, associates, etc.

U are right and alot of yoruba today dont know they are much more closer to Hausa than igbo as i know yoruba have made a contact with hausa for a very long time and thats lead them to exchange some words like Gele thats veil in yoruba but its originally a hausa word for veil and Karuwa means prostitude but its has a yoruba origin its a phrase in yoruba not a word Karu means prostitude in yoruba and Wa means come here .
omg, why do Nigerians immediately think/say prostitute whenever they refer to me? huh

Is it because I'm Nigerian? huh

How could other Africans possibly be jealous of such widespread malaise that even Nigerians run away to other nations in vast numbers?
This hurts.

Lol.... grin They didnt know I am their kinsman. If they know, they would not have said that thing loudly to my hearing.

I was just a Corper serving in Ibadan when it happened.

The two of them came together and I did not even recognize them as being from my tribe. It was after i sneeze that i got to know. grin
Sneezing might be viewed in various ways by different people.

So, why did you sneeze? Was something in the environment an allergen?

When someone sneezes, folks usually say "God bless you", due to the belief you must pray about it,

and to rebuke any evil

huh

Genesis 3:7

NIV
Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.
KJV

And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
ISV

As a result, they both understood what they had done, and they became aware that they were naked. So they sewed fig leaves together and made loincloths for themselves.
ERV

Then it was as if their eyes opened, and they saw things differently. They saw that they were naked. So they got some fig leaves, sewed them together, and wore them for clothes.
AMP

Then the eyes of the two of them were opened [that is, their awareness increased], and they knew that they were naked; and they fastened fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.

Yet, someone bothered to ask if op had accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour as if they have the right to define anything for anyone huh
I simply asked a question, I didnt force the op to do or answer anything? huh

How does "the right to define anything for anyone" enter that? huh

Beware of micro managing. Please answer the person you quoted without referring to me.

There's a thread saying women who wear trousers wont make heaven, I didnt see you on that one?

Nice try on byour but the purpose of the thread is to create confusion, which, he achieved because the OP's introductory didn't identify himself as ‘Igala' until, I had to mentioned it that he isn't a Yoruba man. Afterall, Igala isnt the only group in Kogi state..

In btw, it is wickedness for anyone to purportedly desire to devilish so as garner attention when not needed or for cheap motive.
The op never said he's Yoruba.

In my local language, he said: "This Yoruba boy
What he typed was the people behind him called him a Yoruba person.

It sounds to me he was referred to as Yoruba in a perjorative manner, ie as someone who is ignorant of his identity.

I am from Kogi state And I was in far away Ibadan when it happened to me...

Wanted to get some cash from ATM so I had to join the queue.

Together, they came..Two guyz who joined the queue but behind me.....They were also from Kogi, same tribe as me.

I sneezed and that was when the second guy after me told the guy nearest to me to shift away from me....

In my local language, he said: "This Yoruba boy wen stand for our front don go Smoke weed finish come dey sneeze for people body"
-Are you sure they didn't know you're their kinsman? Perhaps you don't identify with your tribe and people have started to notice this.

-What are the random odds two persons from your tribe would be standing right behind you in a far away place? Not even one, but two.

-Are you partly Yoruba?

-What do you know about where you're from?

- Did you recognize the guys as being from your tribe before they started talking about you?

-Anything to do with politics?

Lol! You are one of the harmonious ones.

They argue furiously about it at times

What about what that dude wrote about Ondo ijaw not being considered "true" ijaw? Are you still going to count them?

You south-south people are quite complicated
You're just everywhere.

You wrote "Ondo Ijaw" then asked if they're "true Ijaw".

After saying they're Ijaw, you're insisting you dont know if they're Ijaw.

Are you Nigerian btw?

Culture › Re: Myths, Realities of Ijaws in Destiny with Rivers by nlPoster: 9:20pm On Dec 04, 2019
Kalabari having Ijaw origins is not far fetched because in olden days Ijaws did not allow certain phenotypes, any child with some characteristics (eg not dark), was exiled and considered outcast, at the very least.

Cultural norms such as these can give rise to communities with links to the original ones but not outright association with them.

My guess, barring migratory explanations.

Good, but you should explain more.

Loving Jesus is not the same thing as accepting him as your personal Lord and saviour and understanding salvation.

Like, why does it seems hard for people to get husband/wife. Is it really suppose to be so? Or we are propably being too watchful or maybe judgemental or maybe too careful?
Possibly, especially too judgemental.

Sometimes, unrealistic, turning down potential partners for one reason or another.

The micro managing should please leave me out of whatever it is they say they're doing, and stop calling me with unnecessary names.

One group would say I'm Igbo, for their own selfish reasons, another would say I'm Yoruba when they have a problem with Yoruba. Some would attach "male" to my moniker, others mandate me as female when they're in female bashing mode, some called me Zulu, all the low iqs just use me as a "contact point" for their nefarious mindsets.

Desist please. angry

An apron is a cover all. What you have there is loin cloth from Africa.
