TV/Movies / Re: Nollywood Inferiority Complex: Portraying Traditional Religions As Evil by Nnenna1(f): 5:20pm On Oct 16, 2011
It depends on what kind of Nollywood movie you're watching.

The traditional ones, and those with stories predating colonial times are more balanced with the portrayal of African religions.

The obviously Christian ones will show the opposite.

Evacuee by Enya. This song is so sad - makes me think of my parents aging and living alone.

Politics / Re: Genocide: The Consequence Of Ethnic Bigotry? (Hotel Rwanda) by Nnenna1(f): 2:11am On Oct 05, 2011
Like all things Nigerian - I think all this is mostly talk and no action (thankfully!).

I don't think there'll be a genocide in the scale of Rwanda, though admittedly we've had histories of clashes and such.

This forum is much more indicative of the leanings of those in the diaspora and the Nigerian middle-class -  it is arguably the biggest Nigerian website and may prove to influence much of young ones with access to the internet. Hmm  sad

To be honest, Nigerians all get along sans the internet. Hopefully it stays that way.

lol! Why get so defensive? Browsing a forum is not following you; what a phony, little, emotional, hypocrite you are - end of the story, bye.

I bet writing that little piece above made you feel REAL good didn't it? wink

LOL. Na wa for stalkers.

I've been reading some of your posts and I find them interesting. You mentioned once that Western/European countries work together to ensure that their economies flourish and they hold the upper hand in international politics.

Could you explain Japan's rise to 1st world status in this context? I know that they have resisted western powers in the past (WWII), but would you know of any events that led them to holding their position as developed, technologically advanced, and most respected out of all the Asian countries in international politics?

Apologies for this off topic question, by the way.

answer the question if u are being honest with yourself

Which question? Why I'm not responding with "venom"? So from now on I should respond with this so called "venom" to all anti-tribe threads to make everyone happy?

Some of you are funny o. Please stop taking notes on my movement.

^^^^^^well I guess we are even now with this thread after all this Yoruba are dirty and woo woo threads because they have done alot of bashing against Yoruba's more, why not other tribes in Nigerian like Hausa.

So you woke up this morning and getting even with Igbos was on your mind? ROFL!

Sane people will NEVER open a thread to bash anyone out of spite because it is silly and childish.

Enjoy your so-called revenge. This is last time I'm responding to or entertaining this obvious rubbish.

^^^^^^I heard many things against Yoruba's by igbo's, and they know who they are. what goes around comes around, maybe if they stop talking trash about Yoruba's you will stop hearing us talk about you guys. It is even to me

I've been a member of this forum since 2005. Igbos have been bashed in this forum tey tey. Many of the Igbo trolls you see here are people reacting to those bashing Igbos.

See examples:

2006:

So if they're attacked, they won't react, abi?

^^^^^^^^^^@Morpheus, the sources I posted speak for themselves
^^^^^^^^^^^@Nnenna1, there is no double standard, when you guys call Yoruba's and other tribes ugly but when you guys see they are beautiful ones you guys claim they have igbo or other blood in them as a explanation when 99% of the time its a lie, non of you guys say anything, so I don't want to hear it
^^^^^^^^^^^@nolongthing, thanks for the video oo, keep posting them

Abegi! I've seen instances here (and in other forums) where people bash Igbo girls, calling them manly, hairy with okoro faces. It goes both ways. What about the likes of SJeezy and co who call them monkeys? What is biting you about Igbo people? Pls shut it.

I don't see you jumping into our defense when a disproportionate amount of threads about crimes committed by Igbo people are opened in this forum.  Or threads insulting them. I've seen MUCH worse doled out to us and you don't step in.

So wait a very tiny group of jewish converts means that many Igbos claim to have jewish Blood?

Why not post videos of Yoruba Muslims and put two and two together after taking into account their claims of origins from Mecca?

Seriously this is BS.

Ibos are the most Useless tribe in Nigeria

aurenflani:

Hausas (northers generally) are more civilised as an entity. western education is practically worshipped by southerners. but to apply ethically what is taught i give it to the hausas. the yoruba are mostly foolish but they are generally descent. the igbos are animals on the one hand and vulgar on the other hand.

People like both of you are reasons why Nigeria will never progress. All that education went through one ear and came out of the other.

^^^^^many igbo's claim jewish blood and other white blood so some of them must be mixed, which makes sense due to the way they way the light skinned ones look, plus I don't see these other central african tribes claiming jewish blood & many ethiopians and sudanese people are mixed race with arabs. it explains why they have people with light skin and european features in the igbo tribe, why they claim these people are pure igbo is what I find funny.

Also I am not talking about black people as you call yellow man or people like monolisa chinda with negorid features. I am talking about ones that look like alicia keys or have a mixed grand parent like alicia keys are considered pure igbo.

Why are you focusing so much on this topic of Igbos being mixed? The VAST majority of Igbos do not claim jews. I wonder why no one is harping on Yorubas for their claims of Middle-Eastern Origins (Mecca) Or Hausas speaking an Afro-Asiatic Language.

Why aren't Edos hounded for having people who look like Modupe Ozolua (who by the way, is the most mixed looking full Nigerian I've ever seen)?

Seriously the double-standard with Igbos in this forum is enough to make someone burst a nerve.

Politics / Re: Why Do We Hate Ourselves? by Nnenna1(f): 1:40am On Sep 30, 2011
Collective low self-esteem in the Black Race.

Symptoms: Inter-Tribal Hatred, Intra-Tribal fights. Leaders who could care less about their citizens but bend over for foreigners. Nigerian in Nigeria who disregard one another but pucker up for expatriates. Men who call their women ugly and subjugate them. Women who call their men useless but will give others the benefit of the doubt. Our creations perceived as sub-standard. Crab mentality. African countries deriding fellow African countries. Success of Africans/Blacks mostly measured through White Validation or inclusion (e.g. Positions in Western governments or Top Western institutions being revered above all positions, All Black French Vogue being celebrated, Obama being Elected President in America being celebrated by blacks worldwide, Halle Berry's Oscar Win being celebrated, Africans making TIME 100 most influential people or Forbes Richest people being celebrated, Miss Angola winning Miss Universe being celebrated as Black victory).

I'm guilty of some of the above myself. Sometimes I reflect but this is world we are born in.  sad
