This is exactly how some people become destitutes in America. I pray and reject that for him but I doubt if he knows how precarious his situation is. If things go south the 'handsomeness' will be totally unrecognizable in a matter of months.

Poorly planned relocation attempts like this are even worse for women. Several have been passed around and even ended up becoming mentally unstable and with many children from different men enticing them with promises of helping file their papers to regularize their stay.

Back to the guy, as some have stated it's down to 2 obvious choices - stay and hope for some divine intervention or go back and plan again since visa is still valid. If staying better start going out to malls and other places and target some 'not too pretty' but nice women but be prepared to live in bondage for years if it works out.

If God bails you out of this you will deeply respect those who are doing well abroad.

Op I dare say you are the so called 'cousin'. This is the situation you put yourself into when you set out to a foreign land without proper planning. Before I travelled abroad, I did a thorough research, I read and read. Through Nairaland I was able to get info from various threads about what to expect. Even though I was going to Germany I read about life in other countries. I knew I wasnt going to pick money on the streets of Europe. I didn't expect much from the country. First and most important step was coming here legally with a visa that will allow me to work. Since I have arrived here I have been contented. I knew it will take time and years to grow. I have a nice place to lay my head, security access to good standard healthcare. I am satisfied with life and working on moving forward gradually.
When I read stories of people on Nairaland saying they want to go abroad to hammer and by range rover like one clown on another thread I just shake my head for them. Even the native born citizens of these countries we go to, many are not rich. They work and pay taxes too.
Now op you got no permit to work and you want to make money in 5 months? Nearly impossible. In Europe no one will risk hiring you else they will be heavily fined by government. So you must have papers to work. You want a woman to marry within five months that's gonna be really hard to see. Don't know about USA but the Europeans can't be fooled into marriage for papers like in the past. They are wiser now. Marriages between black and white are not as common as before.
I wish you luck. And I hope someone out there reading this will make informed decisions before leaving the country.

He's not gon be a permanent tenant. He only needs 5 months to get his sh*t together or move back to Nigeria. He's not staying behind and allowing his stay/visa to run out. He's hoping he will meet someone he will get involved with within 5 months or even get a place to work for that duration before returning home. He needs money to sustain himself back home.
