Before I left the house, I stood for half an hour in front of the mirror. I'm not a dandy nor particular about my appearance. It was a great day. In the company of some politicians, I would visit a very wealthy man. You need to look great! Every detail mattered - my shoes were polished; my socks was brand new; the singlet on my body, unworn; there was no new boxers - so I picked my best. We parked our car outside the house - we rode in a beautiful 2012 Range Rover, and until we entered the compound, I realized why it was a taboo to bring garbage into the master’s bedroom. The rich have inherited the earth, believe me. Our host’s house was everything a billionaires house should be: the mansion - I'm sure - is not finer than palaces in the Middle East, but it can compete with castles in Europe. He built a garage in front of his country house; what he parked there were not ordinary machines. The only reason I could not write the varieties of cars I saw there was because I have never seen them in my life. Yes, I became as tiny as a soldier ant in Savannah. As we walked towards the main house, someone shouted my name, and it forced me to flash a glance at the voice’s direction. Clad in a short and a dirty rag was a young man with a wide grin. His cloth was soiled with blood, I could see that from the distance. He kept the grimace on his face as he called me again. I recognized him - he was Emeka, my classmate in the almighty DMGS. Though I have not seen him since ‘97, the face was still the same. We could only wave, I could not leave the magnificent train I was with, and he could not ascend to my height. We are in two worlds apart. In DMGS, in the 90s, Emeka was not an exceptional student; he was not a dull guy. His father, a chubby man that looked angry always, was very fond of him; he visited him almost every week. He (the father) once came to fight a teacher that flogged his son. Then, we all said it: ‘the man was spoiling his son; he would never allow him to be independent.’ But no matter what we said, the boy was as social as he could be, and, in his own little way, strong. Though his class results were not outstanding, Emeka was an average student. He crossed J.S 1 with ease. In the second term of our J.S 2 class, tragedy struck. Armed robbers went to Emeka’s house at night and -in presence of the whole family - shot Emeka’s father. We heard he died at Emeka’s feet, and that the boy did not cry (then, Emeka was barely 12 years old; the oldest of the family of 6). He missed almost a term, when he returned, he was no longer the guy we used to know. He slept a lot in the class, became a truant. His mother tried to rehabilitate his boy, but clearly, to everyone,he was beyond redemption. His new company were the bad boys of those days. He failed the J.S 2, n when we crossed to Senior class, he failed JS 2 class again. This time, he was expelled. A no-do good; a riff-raff. The last time I saw him - I went to Central School to deliver something for my mother - he was on the school’s fence smoking weed. He hid his face, and I was wise enough to act as if I did not see him. But that impression was indelible; it was how I remembered him. ****** Back to our trip to the Big Man’s house. We stayed in the Big Man’s house for nearly an hour; when we were leaving, I saw him again at the gate. ‘You are now a big man,’ he amicably said. There were marks on his face to show that he had seen more than he could tell - rough scars. He kills cows, he told me. He was in the Big Man’s house to kill cows. On our way back, I couldn’t help it but think about Emeka. A lot of people would blame his woes on him - people have seen worse still they survived. Very few would understand that Emeka was not just ‘people’. The robbers thought they killed only his Father, but on that day, as they pulled the trigger, Emeka died also. It's so easy to judge people - to most of us, Emeka was the architect of his own future. What we all failed to put into consideration was the importance of the mental health - his coping mechanism. If not for the death of his father, Emeka would have become something better. But now, he is a mere pawn of fate, a chaff blown around by savage winds. Maybe - though my understanding of the term is bias - ill was his destiny.. Just maybe. I heard myself saying audibly inside the car: ‘We need to be humble, sometimes; we are just lucky. Just lucky.’ |
The responsibility of being an adult in today's Nigeria is overwhelming. Life is steady dragging you from different angles. Please, if you are still under your parent's care & they truly love, cherish and provide for you, don't take it for granted. Don't be in a hurry to be an adult. Being in adult is not child's play in today's Nigeria. The more you grow in life, the more complex it becomes. Don't be in a hurry, you will experience adulthood in quantum and get tired. If you are a student, make sure you make the best grades from whatever you are studying. Yes, we know the educational system in Nigeria is really messed up, but you owe it to yourself and your future to make good grades. If you don't make good grades and play away your time in school, you have set yourself up for failure, especially if you don't have a godfather. If you intend to japa, make sure you learn some skills at least before you leave. Life is not easy, home and abroad, trust me. Cherish the moments you have now because they won't come back again. Be very intentional about your future. Udo! @afamdeluxo

Poor Obiano should just leave the house for her tonight because eh... |
Nwune How much is it per acre there in unwu ogudu oshia? Flyingpig |
Can i get your contact please? You can reach me via umehmj@gmail.com |
It is true that his time is done but Obiano should not be indifferent to what is happening in his state. This is ochanja market roundabout here in onitsha. As you can see the roundabout has literally been replaced by this mountain of refuse dump. Not just ochanja alone, the entire onitsha metropolise has turned to one refuse jungle. The rain that came the other day messed up the entire city. No sanitation, no nothing! You guys won't believe that the charred bodies of the two thieves burnt two weeks ago are still lying there at star-sunny park, upper-iweka. If only we have skullers here they would have at least harvested some of the parts.

Today at Ebenebe, Awka North Local Government, Anambra State, suspected cultists invaded a burial ceremony and k!lled over 20 people before desecrating the corpse of the deceased popularly known as Ozo. As in, over 20 human beings, Igbo people, who woke up today from their respective homes to attend a sacred event such as a burial came home in body bags. Read that again, slowly, this time. And trust me, you don't want to see the video. No, you don't. If Ndi Igbo do not put their heads together to find out how to salvage Ala-Igbo from the savageries being visited upon her by her INTERNAL Savages, in few years to come, ours will be a wasteland. I've said it before and it bears repeating now, IF Ala-Igbo will ever be destr0yed, her doom will come NOT FROM the outside but from within. Shamefully and paradoxically ironic, isn't it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mrlHgC3kC0 |

The memorandum included security assurances against threats or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of Ukraine, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. As a result, between 1994 and 1996, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine gave up their nuclear weapons. Until then, Ukraine had the world's third-largest nuclear weapons stockpile, of which Ukraine had physical but no operational control. Russia alone controlled the codes needed to operate the nuclear weapons, through electronic Permissive Action Links and the Russian command and control system. Formally, these weapons were controlled by the Commonwealth of Independent States. In 2009, Russia and the United States released a joint statement that the memorandum's security assurances would still be respected after the expiration of the START Treaty. After the annexation of Crimea by Russia in 2014, Canada,France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK and US stated that Russian involvement was a breach of its Budapest Memorandum obligations to Ukraine which had been transmitted to the United Nations under the signature of Sergey Lavrov and others, and in violation of Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity. On 4 March 2014, the Russian president Vladimir Putin replied to a question on the violation of the Budapest Memorandum, describing the current Ukrainian situation as a revolution: "a new state arises, but with this state and in respect to this state, we have not signed any obligatory documents." Russia stated that it had never been under obligation to "force any part of Ukraine's civilian population to stay in Ukraine against its will." Russia suggested that the US was in violation of the Budapest Memorandum and described the Euromaidan as a US-instigated coup.

Many buildings, lock up shops and the zenith bank building at the obodo ukwu axis of onitsha relief market were in the early hours of yesterday razed by an inferno. It was learnt that the fire started when a tanker Laden with a liquid suspected to be premium motor spirit (PMS) tipped over and spilled it's content. This is unconnected to the deplorable state of onitsha - owerri expressway which has been a death trap to motorists, heavy and articulated vehicles especially. Our prayers are with the landlords of the razed buildings and shop owners whom are likely not under any insurance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHTYcE0veKM

Mods it is not fire near relief market please! The market itself is on fire! https://youtube.com/shorts/UOw4Os1ao2U?feature=share |
Onitsha relief market is presently on fire. The cause of the inferno is yet unknown but the magnitude of the fire have left fire fighters with little or no chance as the fire kept building. Heard it has extended to coke market and presently heading towards okpoko police station. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RhjGlI1b9c

jesusjnr2020:Your submission is unintelligent and lacks depth. This discuss is not about if we believe in him or not but someone lying to us that Jesus is white. Suffice to say no one has seen his picture as there was none during his time, we can only work with the facts we have. Facts cannot prove that Jesus and his kind where people of color and the Roman catholic will tell us otherwise. It's analogous to a blind man describing an elephant as being a huge animal with a long nose and tusk, but because he cannot see it, a person with vision will tell him it's not an elephant but a lion. Read your scripture, all the truth you need is there. It wasn't me that said Sampson has 7 locks of hair, the scripture did. It wasn't me that claimed Jesus feet is like bronze, John the beloved did in his book of revelation. Don't attack me for stating a truth you are too lazy to find out for yourself. Quote me again and i go change am for you. |
If he is white then he is not Jesus. Jesus is Hebrew and the original Hebrews are people of color and not whites. In the book of judges Sampson was described as locking his hair into 7 locks. Whites have silky hair which cannot be locked. Again John the Baptist was described as having a bushy long locks ( rasterferian style). Lastly when Jesus appeared to John the beloved in the Ireland of Patmos he was described as having a very white wooly hair and his feet like a bronze. Bronze is which color again? Make una no dey allow the whites dey white wash una brain. Read and gain knowledge oh black man |
Woman battling for her life, loses mum and co-wife, after they were shot at her husband’s funeral in Anambra Thursday, the 13th of January witnessed the most gruesome, heinous and abominable crime of all times. Jungle justice was unjustly served. A lady, Mrs Chidimma Jerry Anyaegbunam from Ozalla in Enugu state, who was in tears and with heavy heart due to the loss of her spouse was attacked and shot on the very day her husband was laid to mother earth in Obosi, Anambra State. It all began late in the evening after the burial ceremony on same day. Some unidentifiable men attacked her and her loved ones and shot them. It was gathered that having sighted the fearsome men, Benita was advised to seek refuge in the house of her in-law. Unfortunately, the fearsome men traced her and her loved ones to the house they were hiding and broke the door. Benita and three other people were singled out and asked to lie down. She was accused of killing her husband and asked to give reasons why she killed her husband. She insisted on her innocence and agreed to go to any length that they want so she could prove her innocence. But her plea fell on deaf ears. She was shot and left for dead. The men also shot her mother and co wife who had been singled out alongside with her. It was gathered that her mother and co wife died on the spot. As of the time of this report, Benita is battling for her life due to bullet wounds. Obosi, you have committed an abominable act in the sight of God and man but remember there is God. Eze Zinny wrote: She is a young diamond lady from Enugu State married in Anambra State, who's marriage is very young (below 1 year) before the untimely death of her husband early December 2021 and they are yet to have a child! Her young husband of 33 years old suffered and died from the poison called elephantiasis and his death was blamed on this innocent, decent and harmless young lady, consequently, she was shot alongside with her mother and co-wife at her husband's burial venue on Thursday 13/1/2022. Unfortunately, her mother and co-wife died while the young widow is still fighting for her life at the hospital. https://www.facebook.com/100009388131283/posts/3215800725409500/?d=n Mynd44
