They will only make foreign and investment in this country unattractive. Attracting investment into the country through tax waivers and other incentives for employment generation should be their goal at this point. Increasing tax on already taxed organisations will be a very bad decision. To imagine that the tax paid may be used for bogus oil exploration is annoying

SportsRe: Rio 2016: Five Reasons Nigeria Lost To Germany by nonjebose(m): 6:41am On Aug 18, 2016
Imhandsome:
just saw this nd decided to share...

The Dream Team’s 0-2 defeat to Germany has certainly shattered the hopes of the national U-23 team in getting a gold medal at the Rio Olympics.
In the whole duration of the match Nigeria remained second best in all departments as the German came into the match with a disciplined game plan.
Here are the five reasons Nigeria lost to Germany.....

1. Lost the midfield battle: The closely contested match was won in the midfield as the Germans dominated all proceedings at the center where they beat the Dream Team to their fluent passing game.
Nigeria’s Mikel Obi vs Germany in the semi-finals
Every German was involved in the midfield duel and made sure they did not give the African Champions space to operate especially wrestling down the might of Mikel.

2. Azubuike’s absence: Ndifreke Udo stood in for suspended Azubuike and it took no time to realize the deep hole in the midfield area as the 19-year-old could not fit into the shoes of the missing general.
Germany players celebrate their first goa as Udo looks on
This deficiency gave Mikel more job to do as the German capitalized on the Nigeria’s weakness where they won the balls and spread passes that forced the Dream Team to re-group on several occasions.

3. Too many mistakes: After the Germans had forced the U-23 side in making too many errors, the confidence of the team dwindled as it never looked like the sparkling and entertaining Siasia side.
Amuzie and Selke struggle for the ball
Shehu and Amuzie who have both been brilliant so far in the tournament could not get into the game as too many faulty passes tired the exciting Imoh Ezekiel and Umar upfront.

4. The final third: The only meaningful chance Nigeria had in the match was Mikel’s brilliant effort which was forced into a corner after the captain brilliantly displaced two players.
Mikel attempted to score against Germany
Ezekiel had a bad day,Sadiq Umar was isolated and the worst player of the night Aminu Umar was nowhere to be found only when he caused just one anxious moment in the first half.

5. A traditional technically gifted German side: With all sincerity Nigeria could not match up with the technical masterclass of the young German side all through the match. The Bender brothers, Gnarbry and Selke were all outstanding for the Germans.
Gnarbry was brilliant on the night as he froced fine save from Daniel
The Europeans clipped the wings of the Eagles in all departments and forced fine saves from Emmanuel Daniel who was kept busy all night.
Siasia disappointed after Nigeria’s loss to Germany

Above all, it was unfortunate that Etebo’s injury limited Nigeria’s chances in qualifying into the finals and the jinx on Siasia continues as the highly rated coach has failed again to win at the world stage.
The Germans did not force us into any errors. The players simply did not turn up for the match. Sodiq isolated? That is the farthest from the truth it can get. The was just abysmal with his first touches

something was really wrong. Ths is not the way we played Denmark.
Still i cnt imagine why the boys wont be treated well and i avnt seen a country that wont support their athletes to a honourable competetion like the olympics. Buh nw they have money to invite British experts to search 4 oil in the norther Nigeria. Why will they kill theirself? Abeg if una fit win charcoal cum gve Naija. Thats what they deserve
Thanks for this post. I wish they win the bronze for their sake. But for the country, coming out with nothing from this olympics will be fitting, appropriate, refreshing, justifiable and climaxing. I said this just before the start of the games after seeing the inhuman treatment of sportsmen and women.
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Germany : Rio2016 Olympics : Your Thoughts On The Match? by nonjebose(m): 4:30am On Aug 18, 2016
The team imploded. An unmotivated Sia1 stood, occasional placing his hand on his head and watched a team in disarray, helplessly. The Brazilian spectators did their best to wake the team up, all to no avail. The nigerian supporters sang the timeless " all we are saying give us 1 goal", but it never moved them. The commentators gave up on the hope of a resurgence early in the second half. It was not a challenge, but a routine loss. It was an uninspiring affair. Like I said on an earlier thread, Rio may turn out to be a replica of london 2012. I am happy it is proving to be so. Nobody should talk about going back to a drawing board. Sports and youth dev in sports is no longer important in this country.

Just like scoring an offside goal in a footbal pitch, diving on finish line in racing should not be allowed. To make it a fair race, the foot which touches the last line first should be declared the winner otherwise people would start diving into finish line from 100 meters behind
Hahahaha dive to finish line from 100m behind, trying to imagine it! But your point is valid. Athletes will no longer think twice before diving (flying) across the line. They may start employing diving instructors. Am a good diving instructor btw

The man's issue is centered around wearing of hijab. He is so vehement about it being their right because nigeria is multi religious state. Hope this does not fuel crises in secondary schools in different sates of the federation, similar to Osun state
