I stay on the island. Obalende side
Sure, agbede dey obalende.. Go to underbridge, ask the danfos there to recommend agbede.
on the other hand, you can do it tomorrow at Ikeja. Take a destination trip to ikeja, there's a guy who cleaned readadream's radiator @ agindingbi first gate. He knows his stuff.

Don't let anybody poke into your car unnecessarily, cleaning of radiator fins is your first trouble shooting before anything else.

Goodluck.

How is d steam wash done because I just had d radiator blown with pressure water at the car wash few days ago
Do I have to remove both d radiator and condenser before steam wash?
Go to agbede ( blacksmith),they specialise in cleaning your radiator fins. Your radiator internal fins are blocked .Car wash steam on radiator is doing nada, you are just wasting money.

Sorry for just badging into this conversation especially one that could be more of bygone, I'm just getting to see this and it got me wondering that I can't help it.
I bought my bike for #670k and I make a minimum of 60k working for four days as a dispatch rider weekly. An average of 40k on Uber plus other offline jobs (max a week has been four days, I perhaps could make more if I work more days).
If my #670K bike could fetch this much, what's stopping a car that costs more from making much more?
I made my #670k capital back in the space of 3 months. Please this concern begs for answers.
I've been planning on saving to buy a car to start Uber full time..
I'm glad you said you make 60k just working 4 days. To make that same 60k on Bolt you need to do over 100k gross ,that will take you 4-5 days ,working long hours.

100k gross scenario
Bolt commission- 25k

Fuel - 20k

Cash balance- 55k.

You can see the figures are not really impressive.

That's why investors no longer put up cars in the business and Bolt is luring owners of 98 -2002 cars to sign up.

Izzou has given you the summary.. ROI on Uber/Bolt is very poor either as a partner driver or investor. It sucks. How can Keke riders be paying up keke in a year ? and you can't do same with a corrolla.
Ehailing companies with stupid fares.. #600 for air-conditioned taxis. Keke won't even look at you twice for #600 charter.

Last year . Bajaj okada was 400k. Delivery is 9k weekly, or 40k monthly based on your rental agreement. In a year, you would've recouped your initial investment.
You can't try that with Uber..

Anfield247:
Recently, let me say two to three weeks ago, my mom came back from church, discussing about an upcoming traditional marriage and wedding ceremony of the daughter of one of her church members with my dad. They were busy, I mean my mom and dad were busy talking about how the groom is a wealthy man and how the marriage will be glorious
I didn't even pick interest because I got better things to think about.
The bride-to-be is a graduate from akwa ibom, while the groom-to-be, on the other hand, is a pastor of one popular church in Nigeria, I won't mention the name of the church because not all their pastors are the same.
When they started the relationship, the pastor was rushing everything, he was like he can't wait to marry this pretty damsel.
According to the story, the parents of the both families have met each other, and some part of the traditional marriage has been done.
Everything was going according to plans, they even brought out a pre-wedding photo, which I myself saw on her Facebook. Here is how the marriage took a new twist,
Now, three days to the traditional marriage, the groom-to-be came out and said he's not getting married to the Bride anymore, that is no longer interested in the marriage. When they asking why, he said it was because of the bride price list they gave to him.
Now, his church said there's no problem about that, that they will sponsor everything, the pastor still vehemently insisted that he is no longer interested in the marriage...
The parents of the girl said the marriage list is always open for negotiation, that it is not compulsory to pay everything at once, or even everything no the list to be paid,
The young man still said no
Now the marriage has been called off and the girl is heart-broken
My Mom follow the mother of the bride-to-be to do the shopping.
They even invited so many people to the marriage ceremony but it unfortunately ended in the most unbelievable way...
What could possibly be the reason behind his decision?
Can a man go as far as performing some traditional marriage rite just to sleep with a girl?
Could it be because of the list?
Or can infantuation drive a man to do the unthinkable?
Could it be spiritual manipulation or just the matter of choice?
Post the list and you would see reasons why the young man backed out, though, that was too insensitive of him.

But my question is, why do some parts in Nigeria make traditional weddings full of unnecessary items ? I thought items are supposed to be symbolic, why all the financial burden especially if the "couple to be" are just starting life.

It's not nice.

Very true , eggs are good. ...Wayback I had two boiled eggs and 5 slices of bread for breakfast with hot cocoa.

Ginger helps too. Like one stub of ginger (cut in small pieces ) in 750ml handy warm flask ,3 table spoons of Milo, no milk, no sugar. I use hot water. Around 10am, I start sipping it. Real energizer.

The question you should always ask yourself is
"Why do the ehailing companies sidestep or totally avoid issues bordering on buying cars" . The answer is simple. It's better to collect 25% of earnings than to burden yourself with the stress of managing and maintaining cars.

But to go and dump 3.5 million on a car and expect weekly earnings of 35k from your investment. You are in for a rude shock.

I have given you the truth. Trading adds little or nothing to the GDP, so if ibos leave lagos, it's their loss, Lagos won't feel a thing.
All the major manufacturing hubs in Nigeria are domiciled in the southwest. That should tell you something.

Dangote bought PH and Kaduna refinery when Obasanjo privatised it. He was abused dt they've sold PH to northerner. Nigerdelta agitations started not much after. He relinquished the deal as yaradua took over.
As a result, when he decided to build a refinery he only considered Ondo and Lagos and avoided the SS. Ondo was demanding money while Lagos begged him to come, and offered incentives.

It's a business decision.
You still don't get it, it still boils down to the settlement things and over entitlement issues we have been talking about. Ondo wanted money from a business conglomerate that will put that given community on the World map forever.
In the long run, the community is at a loss.

SE is the only region that other tribes don't invest in but still trives.... imagine if SE had a port like lagos .... other African countries cine to Alaba and trade fair to buy goods for business, lagos is the one benefiting from this ...but still black man mentality, them talk say mk igno man leave Lagos... Americans never told the Italians to leave America in the 20s 30s 40s when they ran the mafia system cos America were making so much money from their trade, it helped America escape the great depression
I marvel at your ignorance. Igbos can't leave Lagos and you know that is the truth.
Talking about Lagos economy collapsing, you don't know much. You think it's by operating 2 by 2 shops ,production is what propels the economy of a state.
California is the largest state economy in the world, production is what drives such economies and not retail trade.
Trading does not add to the GDP of a state. The major activity ibos do in Lagos is trading, they need a market for that, which Lagos readily supplies. Lagos is the cash cow.

In the south south, the concept of discipline, prudent allocation and management of resources is lacking among the youth and community leaders especially in the oil communities.

In 2004,the Niger delta youths, in a town hall meeting with Obasanjo accused the foremost civil engineering company in Nigeria of not employing their youths. This was aired live on NTA.

Obj took the microphone and countered the leader and said their youths were not realistic in their demands, the community youths wanted 10k daily as pay for manual labour as @ then.

In 2004, asking for a payrate of 10k daily for manual labour was outrageous. Not skilled masons or artisans who have honed their skills over the years, just casual labour.

The company in question had no choice but to bring non-indigenes from other states to work for them on the road construction project..
So in the long run,the economic progress of any community still boils down to the culture and moral values entrenched within that group.

Don't derail from the original context of the discuss. How are big companies tied to a particular tribe.? Anyone that leaves Lagos does that at his/her own detriment. Lagos is the cash cow.
Warri and Niger delta as a whole have youths and community leaders that are always interested only in their selfish gains.

Don't use all your budget to buy a car because, you will still spend on repairs.. you have to be liquid for the first 3 weeks you start.
Ideally, you should put aside 400-500k.
Honda civic is good. Pope can shed more light on it. If you can get 03/04 Honda civic. I know 03/04 editions of civic are very rugged.

It's an irony sha, cars are more expensive in Lagos than in the North, and there are more problematic cars in theLagos market than we have in the North.

Travel › Re: Every Nigeria City Should Learn Something From The Collapse Of Warri. by northbird: 10:13am On May 15, 2023
Blame it on the corrupt youth and community leaders. A company comes to your locality, brings all expertise and tech to set up shop and do business.
The next thing, youths gather and strangle the business all in the name of settlement, warri indigenes deserve the kind of economy they have right now. I have never seen such a level of crass entitlement before.
These same people will travel out to advanced countries and behave properly...

That's why most Multinational companies will always prefer southwest states to any other region in Nigeria.

Not to rely on the normal 9-5 job which I have been seeking, I have learnt soft digital skills like Copywriting, Digital Marketing, Domain Flipping. I have used my little money to have a portfolio of 6 domains but sales are not coming even with aggressive outbounding.

May be coding would have been different but I can't afford a laptop.
