Pearl1910: I go better school so I pick my words very well. A days work is a days work and half day is half day. Any day I work a days work, I make minimum 20k Net. I don't say this to impress anybody, it's something I should even b hidding, Like most people do their earnings. I have done this for many years, now I don't drive everyday again because I have other businesses I am engaged in. But the day I drive full day like on Friday last week, there is no way I will not make 20k take home.
I would have said okay and ignore ur post, but because I went to church today, I want to use my church mind and give u a respectable response. Now ,you are differentiating ," half day and full day.". but your former post said you make 20-30k net daily ,note the word " DAILY " and not the new terms " half day and full day" you are just introducing... You posted that screenshot yourself. and you can see that there's no reality of 20-30k net daily there. I'm always interested in putting things in proper perspective because a lot of people draw decisions from misleading posts like yours. Ignoring the post won't change my opinion which is stating the true picture of the situation. Glithronix shared an estimate for Saturday which is possible if you put in the required work, but he can't tell me that he does 25k (20-30k) net DAILY (MON - SUNDAYS) . Some days ,yes, but not DAILY. This is the point I'm driving, proper perspective. |

Pearl1910: If they do, fine. If they don't, we should gallop ahead.
I remember when I started this hussle, Bolt commission was 15% and I usually Net 10k daily. But fast forward to today, commission is 25% and I am netting 20k to 30k daily. If it's by increasing commission that I will earn more, then they should continue increasing the commission o. Indrive that is 10% isn't giving me more profits. I have said it before, their commission is not my business but what enters my pocket. Pearl, you don't net 20k-30k daily. Some days, yes but not everyday ,put it in proper perspective, no exaggeration, a lot of people read this thread. |

One hungry driver picked a dummy ride from ICM to Lakowe for 8k +. The other guy that ordered said he was shocked😲 that a fellow driver could pick such a ride. . He didn't believe that a driver could drive down for such measly pay. I mean how desperate can you be! ICM to lakowe for 8k plus @ 488per litre. What could be the cause? Low self esteem, being naturally dumb or what? |

Running the numbers
BOLT SAPA NEW PRICE TEMPLATE
BASE FARE- 517 PER KM- 130 PER/MIN- 23.3
ETA- 35min Distance- 30km
Ogba Excellence Hotel ---- ADEOLA ODEKU, VICTORIA ISLAND
Fuel @ 25 litres @ 488 - #12,200
FARE ESTIMATE- 517+ (130*30) +(23.3*35) = 5,232.50 25%COMMISSION = 1,308 Income to driver = # 3,923.
You are going to drive over 90km working FREE for Bolt with ZERO profit before you can recover your fuel cost. (12,200).. The is the best scenario for Lagos traffic situation, with the new fuel price ,the more traffic time, the more losses you incur driving on Bolt.
The numbers don't lie.

To every driver, if this is the new Bolt tariff, if you drive on Bolt, you will run @ a loss. Bolt has done nothing so far.
Let's look at the numbers.
Average fuel per full work day- 25 litres. @ 185- #4,625
Average fuel- @ 488 - #12,200.
Diff in fuel cost- # 7,575.
7,575 -------- * 100% = 163.7% 4,625
That means your fuel cost has increased by 163.7%
Let's look @ fare increase.
Bolt old price - 104/km. Not sure Bolt new price - 130/km
130 -104 = 26 naira increase in fares
26 ---- * 100 = 25% increase in fares. 104
163.7% increase in cost to driver but only 25% increase on fares.
163.7% of driver versus 25% of Bolt.
Bolt cares only about their 25%. At the former old price template,Bolt's business objectives will be met. So there's no real motivation to increase fares. Driving does not make you dumb.
Be guided. |

CheerfulGiver: Like I keep saying, conditions now are better than before fuel increment. You've not just seen it. I've grossed 90k in the last two days without doing any extra work apart from bidding on trips that meet my strategy.
I Divide my hour by 7k or simply do 100 naira per minute.
I have about 13 hours to work or 60mins x 13 which is 780 mins.
Each minute is 100 naira which is a potential 78,000
All I need out of the 78k is only 45k. It guides me in choosing and bidding trips.
This thing is a blessing in disguise. Maybe on the island.. this my area for mainland, indrive riders here don't want danfo and keke and yet they still quote funny fares.. some will even be on the same quote for 2 hours plus.. I am amazed sometimes.. |

northbird: If you are on Bolt. Park the car and sit @ home today. Life transforming ideas won't hit you while sitting on the wheels. Don't waste precious 488 fuel on evening rush traffic.... In the immediate, this is the only solution. Park the car and observe. For those on hp and rentals, it still boils down to the reality people tend to avoid .. You are in a racket that if you miss work for just 5 days, you are going to feel the full impact on your income. That's why you still see a lot of drivers working. They can't miss work for 3 days. it's doom for them. If 488/l remains and no significant fare change, this is the end of ehailing for me. |

I glanced through the email from Bolt and I chuckle, just a play of words, if you believe Bolt will match fares commensurate to the rate of fuel increase, then you can believe anything ...
25% cut of the old price template will give them their desired KPI. So it's gets juicer for them,25% is all they need... |

There is disquiet in uber land. By the time we now factor petrol subsidy removal, ... the road ahead looks pretty rough for moove. Moove never understood ehailing abinitio.. i cant fathom how they brought 2014 corrollas to be plying Lagos roads . I mean ,no street orientation, boardroom analysis only their Uber partner too bills like cars are maintained with coins. I'm sure nobody told them before withdrawing those cars. It's quite obvious those susuki are not making enough money, because what will make their drivers to be on that other side,low-key. |

Right now, normal fares on indrive, no indication that fuel is scarce @ all. Indrive has made riders used to dictating fares, I don't know how they will correct that, Bolt put surge, but can it be sustainable day in day out?. Cos eventually fuel will leave 185/l and approach towards 400 ish/l.
Fuel is a major cost input. Infact, fuel takes @ least 20% of the gross income, that's really significant |
