HesInMe: I thought your conviction was valuation-based. You've been right so far. Stick to it na.
And promote Access while you're at it, as that stock is also Pan-African and "cheap." Access Bank is on my radar but when I compare access Bank, Ecobank and zenith Bank on a valuation vs efficiency basis; access Bank comes out third. So, I will probably ride zenith Bank till the valuation vs efficiency ratio moves in favor of access. I could always divide my funds into the 3 banks but where is the fun in that. 3 banking stocks for me is too much diversification |

HesInMe: No disrespect, but see how you've flipped and flopped on Ecobank in less than 6 months like fish out of water:
Aug 6: "Entered ETI at about N36. Given the book value of the stock I think its ridiculously cheap." Sep 19: "I read this article yesterday and bailed out of ETI today at N35, took a hit of like 15%." Oct 28: "This stock is cheap oh!!! The negative retained earnings is really holding it back..." Dec 30: "I started buying yesterday and finished buying today. Average buying price N42.52..." Today: "ETI has touched N50. I wont advise anyone to sell... Ecobank is a play on the Ghanaian Economy." "This game is so easy it should be illegal. I really feel sorry for people that keep buying/selling without doing valuations." I react to the news (as I see it). Let me show you the article that made me sell https://gomezconsult.com/ecobank-in-race-against-time-as-non-performing-loans-set-to-exceed-70/One thing I will tell you for free is that insiders know more than we do. So when I read that article I sold first and asked questions later. When I saw that the price was not tanking I bought back with the belief that they must have a grip on their issues. If you follow the Ecobank thread on my blog you will see a more robust discussion Plus at the end of the day my loyalty is to my money. I don't hold a lot of stocks but the few stocks I hold I watch like a hawk. I try my best to hold the cheapest stocks based on my valuations |

BARGAIN HUNTERS TAKE NOTE! I am adding this SCOA to my bedsheet oh. This company looks like something that may just be sexy. Analysis to be posted on my blog later tonight |

Streetinvestor2: The first current account I ever had was with oceanic bank. The first stock I had in large numbers then was oceanic bank. The first loss I had in six zeros in this business was oceanic closing down .Till date I don't understand how the take over reconstruction happened. All I knew was my investment was reduced to worthless. You can never find me and ecobank in same sentence. I even abandoned my current account with them join No wahala. You can buy Zenith Bank |

Streetinvestor2: If it is based on politics. I will disagree with his position. as ngx stands to be gold mine. This government is so corrupt and has looted so much for this election. All you need to say is I stand on his di.ck and collect billions. And anyhow some will end on ngx.You see that ASI will touch 250k this yr for political campaigns Election year is just as good a reason as any. As I stated with the tax excuse, market commentators will always find a reason for market movement. The fact is that the Nigerian economy is due for a repricing, and the stock market is not going to be left out. FMCG sector has been repriced and now its the turn for the banking sector. You can choose to say it is because someone saw big foot or because it is an election year; my own is that make you sha buy Zenith bank and Ecobank stock. |

nicestlady: Any thoughts on the MCO Penny ltd savings? It promises 26% interest per annum with upfront interest payment. How safe is it? Anyone invested before? If they are going to pay you 26% how much will they now lend to people? So, their website claims they are licensed by FCCPC. FCCPC website claims that their mandate is to The mandate of Nigeria's Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) is to develop and promote fair, efficient, and competitive markets, ensuring access to safe products and protecting consumer rights from abuse, exploitation, and unfair business practices across all sectors of the economy.
Please how do these two relate? If you are looking for what to invest in go and buy Zenith bank and/or Ecobank (ETI) shares |

If you like follow dey listen to baseless fears

Sunrisepebble: I don’t think it’s that undervalued anymore. I believe that the price will get back to pre bonus dilution price. I’ve also heard their Q1 numbers are good, they’re still growing revenue and EPS. So I’m holding for now. Although I trimmed some around 92-94 Thanks. Its on my watch-list as well but its not sexy enough for me. Its one of the stocks I will be watching when the correction comes |

Sunrisepebble: My target prices for the below: GTCO 120 MTNN 800 SEPLAT 9,000+ TRANCORP 60-70 VITAFOAM- 120 WAPCO- 200 ZENITH - 90-100
I don’t see much upside in NAHCO any longer. Dollar is stable and DPS for FY will not give you a 10% yield at current price. Will they continue to grow revenue and earnings the way they did previously. Their Q3 was evident of that. Pa Emma I would like to hear your opinion @Emmanuelewumi NAHCO can be viewed as a play on insecurity. |

awesomeJ: 1400% vs 51.1% in 2025. Is that accurate enough for you as a performance assessment.
I built a dedicated software to track this.
Again, you're speaking about most traders, and in that case, you're absolutely right. Are you comfortable sharing your transaction history? I'm sure if someone were to analyze it you will see your assessment of your returns aren't so accurate |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by nosa2(m): 7:33pm On Jan 14 |
awesomeJ: When you consider that my highest green month as of 2025 is 15x more than the loss from this red month, it makes the red month loss even more immaterial @nosa2.
Now remember that there are people like Mankind2024 who seems to consistently makes 4000% over a 4 year timeframe (based on what he tells us).
He has found his strategy, I've found mine.
You also seem to have one that works for you.
Why exerting mental energy to prove that a strategy isn't sustainable cos you couldn't succeed at it 😁 I am not trying to say your strategy doesn't work. You are the one trying to say it does. It would be interesting to see the entire transaction sheet of a "successful" trader and compare it to the performance of the index. Most traders don't misinform deliberately. They just don't assess their performance accurately |

awesomeJ: With your own failures as episodes ba?
Keep binging. Traders always post their wins are rarely their losses. If a trader were to sit back and review their trading profits over say a 2 year period I am sure they won't beat the index. There is a huge element of gambling thrill to the whole thing |

awesomeJ: In any case, the whole point is for you to stop erroneously assuming that because you failed at a craft, someone else might fail.
That's a faulty assumption, unless of course the person is following in your exact footsteps in the same market with the same sentiments.
@nosa2 No shaking. This is a movie I have seen too many times |

awesomeJ: How long did you successfully trade for? Years. I am not going into this now. I have been in this game for a very long time. I can make your argument better than you but I also know that the idea of a successful frequent trader is a myth. However, believing you will find a system that works is a right of passage and the baptism of fire is the only remedy. |

awesomeJ: We're saying the same thing.
If you traded for up to 6 years successfully, your experience would have counted.
This 6 months you mentioned was more of an experiment 😁 You misunderstood me. I had been trading for a long time, its just that my trade size grew so large that Oyinbo called me in Nigeria to give me personal service. They called me at my peak. |

awesomeJ: Hopefully when you master it, you will survive 6 years and still be thriving.
Erstwhile, you just port to a different strategy that you understand 😁 I want to respond, I know what I want to say but I don't know how to say it. Some times experience is the best teacher. When Warren Buffet stated the rule about not losing money he was speaking out of years of experience. Experience that can only be fully understood when you experience it. |

Raider76: I recall when he was pushing GTCO and many were not interested. He must have cashed out big when it hit N100. Hehe. If it is obvious then its probably not as juicy. Shifted from GTCO to Zenith and Ecobank. Got out of GTCO at about 70+ sha and shifted focus to Zenith. The disparity in price for the two banks is illogical. Either GTCO is over-priced or Zenith is under-priced. I expect GTCO to hover while Zenith catches up. We should eventually see Zenith trade at about N5 below GTCO Obviously my opinion changes once full year and or Q1 results come out |

They also have plans to do a debt-equity conversion programme and possibly raise additional capital in the market. These and some other info may be responsible for its recent performance. Some estimates say only 7000 millionaires are in Nigeria.
Agba is one of them.
7000 is 0.007% of 100m adults in Nigeria. Naira or dollar millionaires |
