Your head dey there @ " invest like a farmer".

If management can achieve their revenue target of N300 billion for 2029 @ a profit margin of 25% which is lower than their net margin in the 2024. That will give them a profit after tax of N75 billion or Earning Per Share of N38.50k.

They have a dividend payout ratio of 90% which will give a dividend per share of N34.60k

As of the latest official report (the Q3 2025 SEC 13F filing, with data as of September 30, 2025), the publicly disclosed equity portfolio of Berkshire Hathaway was valued at approximately $267.33 billion

Why do u think the policy is bad for the palm oil sector. And how is it affecting other sector
We have this policy on sugar with backward integration attached. We have it on rice though government approved the importation of puddles for a short period to crash the price locally.
I think it is good policy that should be sustained and backward integration should be added. Then government should allow even export on it.I think thr is restriction on export because some Asian Countries did same..We cannot allow our country to be dumping ground for substandard palm oil like I saw in the past in railways then in kaduna. That was what indomie company in kaduna was buying because it was cheaper but the oil was completely rubbish from my own physical check. Then why the bigger guys will continue to make good margins. The majority locals don't have efficiency in the milling process. The way they start is equally how many close shop in short period. Then this big guys have alot of revenue coming from revenue mix in the industry because of capacity and funding for the machines needed to create different products out. Like in my lga, many Mills I use to know have shut down for different reasons. Mostly related to power supply. Then the few local production just serve the few people who really want quality hand prepared oil to cook.
And this quality comes with extra cost if u go for it.Do you know thr is huge money being made from karnel oil presently mostly cold compress
Here I was thinking you understood the policy.

We are not that close. We still get close to 40% gap and likely 50% as our population goes higheri n 5 yrs Unless the government go begin allow importation back into the country .A liter still goes for #2k and above. Even at #1500 for a litter the guys will still be making good money from my research. The kill for these oil guys is the industrial need for palm oil in nigeria. It will definitely continue to increase if the manufacturer ingredients and production part of the economy continue to expand
Fair enough. I guess I am with you on this. There is too much opacity for me to take a position as well

I have been a shareholder of Zenith, UBA, for over 20 years

Shareholder of United Capital, Presco, Okomu for over 10 years.

I sold my First Bank, Access, FCMB, Fidelity, Sterling and others this year in order to reduce the number of stocks in my portfolio to around 25
You suppose open index fund. 25 stocks is very inefficient in my opinion

Once you start with insults, you signal that you lack the numbers to let the data speak for itself. The only relevant question is whether the discounted future cash flows of ARPN exceed the acquisition price at Ellah’s cost of capital. Without numbers, claims of “overpayment” are nothing more than baseless opinions.

You implicitly admitted with presco that price alone does not determine value; execution and capital structure do. The same standard must therefore be applied to Ellah.

Until then, this debate is not about valuation, it is about emotional bias.
Then again one can argue that if the deal was very favorable to Ellah shareholders then Management would have been splashing the details everywhere

Finally somebody willing to engage on this. Lets review the effect of the policy, aside from creating a boom for the palm oil guys what is the policy doing to the other sectors of the economy? Think about that and you will begin to see the probability of the protection being removed and why I have been saying what I have been saying.

I think that comment might be a matketing stinct. Would you want to subscribe for the PO and have your money returned to you after about 2 months due to not meeting your purchase. Would you want him to state that your funds will be returned to you... lol. The prospectus already states the number of units and amount required. Anything contrary will amount to a difference from what approval was gotten from both board and SEC.
Then they could allocate on a pro rata basis.

This market is too cheap for me to be making plays where all the ducks do not line up. There are stocks with audited results and yields of about 10% trading at earnings multiples of less than 3. For me to ignore those and put my money elsewhere I will need that elsewhere not to have any potential red flags.

P.S I am shamelessly pumping Zenith Bank

Why I'm going for TIP RI and PO.
The Initiates Plc (TIP), a company with one of the strongest moated business is conducting a public offer of 932,022,138 ordinary shares at ₦9.50 per share, as part of a combined capital raise (including a rights issue at ₦7.00 for existing shareholders). Recent trading prices have ranged around ₦11.00–₦13.00 (with highs above ₦13 in late 2025), confirming a meaningful discount to the market.

Here is compelling, evidence-based reasoning why the public offer represents an attractive opportunity for investors, including the company's economic moat in its niche:

1. Attractive Discount to Market Price
Subscribers acquire shares at ₦9.50 while the open market values them significantly higher (recent closes around ₦12.75.
This provides an immediate paper gain potential upon listing of the new shares, a common incentive in successful Nigerian capital raises to encourage participation and reward new investors. The Banks RI and PO come to mind.

2. Proven Explosive Growth and Performance Momentum
TIP has been one of the NGX's top performers in 2025, delivering over 480% year-to-date capital appreciation through Q3 (from ~₦2.50 early in the year to peaks above ₦13).
H1 2025 financials showed:
- Revenue: ₦3.39 billion (+234% YoY).
- Profit after tax: Strong surge (e.g., projections for full-year profits ~₦2 billion).
This growth stems from rising demand for regulated hazardous waste services, particularly in oil & gas and industrial sectors.

3. Clear, Strategic Use of Proceeds
Funds are earmarked for scaling operations, technology investments, asset expansion, and entry into higher-margin areas (e.g., public waste management and West African markets). Management has emphasized consolidating leadership in sustainable waste solutions, directly fueling the revenue/profit trajectory already demonstrated.

4. Strong Economic Moat
- The Only Listed Player: TIP is the sole publicly listed company in Nigeria's waste management sector on the NGX, providing unique investor access to this growing industry.
- Regulatory and Expertise Barriers: Hazardous waste management (including incineration, e-waste processing, decontamination, and industrial cleaning) requires stringent permits, specialized infrastructure (e.g., high-pressure jetting, vacuum systems, thermal treatment), and compliance with environmental regulations—creating high entry barriers.
- Niche Leadership: Proven expertise in complex services for oil & gas (a major client base), with robust infrastructure and international-standard capabilities. Competitors exist (e.g., private firms like Del Waste, Halden Nigeria), but TIP's scale, track record, and public transparency give it a defensible position in a fragmented market.
- Sector Tailwinds: Increasing enforcement of environmental laws, outsourcing of compliance by industries, and Nigeria's push for sustainability drive structural demand.

5. Insider and Market Confidence
Recent insider purchases (e.g., major shareholders adding stakes at market prices) signal belief in continued upside. The company's long-term vision aligns with rewarding shareholders through growth and potential dividend increases.

While capital raises involve dilution, the deep discount for public offer participants offsets this, allowing entry at a favorable valuation into a high-growth, moated business. The waste management sector in Nigeria is underdeveloped but expanding rapidly due to regulatory pressures and industrialization—positioning TIP to capture outsized benefits.

Risks include execution challenge. Overall, this offer provides a rare chance to invest in Nigeria's leading (and only listed) hazardous waste specialist at a discounted price during a period of exceptional momentum.
I noticed the insider buying as well but then again they may be buying as a way to signal confidence. After all why will they buy at market price when they can get at a discount via the offer

What do you think about TIP PO.

If I’m to pick about 300k unit. Would you suggest an alternative?

Abeg help a brother/son.
I was listening to the Green ticker interview on TIP and the thing was getting me super excited. To be fair I looked at the company's last result and it was GOOD!!! In fact after seeing the result I called my broker that I wanted to buy the offer (I don't usually like buying public offers)

However, as I was listening to the interview the CEO now said that if there is over subscription they will adsorb all of it. At that point my excitement just died. More money is always good for a business however, they already knew how much they needed, now why would he be so excited to dilute his holdings by adsorbing more shares than necessary. Basically I still like the business, I like their expansion plans BUT I am not buying till I start to see more clarity from future results

He did not lose in dollar term, he broke even.

Naira to dollar in 2015 was average of N200 to $1 from CBN and average of N300 in the black market.

If we used the official rate his N50 million was equivalent to $250,000.

Which is now valued at about N370 million.

He would have done better by investing it Eurobond Fund or equities with a Return on Invested Capital of 30% and above
First he borrowed part of the N50m, but aside from that, do you know what it is to have money tied down for 10 years not yielding anything? That na serious loss oh

Oando at N208 was almost 20 years ago.

Reason why it is good to use the right tool when investing, I look at the Return on Invested Capital, Cash Return on Invested Capital, Economic profit, earning growth, profit margins, cash flow margins, debt etc.
20 years is over a decade na. And my point is that the market could just have easily have wiped him out. Stating the best without stating the bad is disingenuous. Lets try keep things balanced.

Plus most of you that have been in this market since 2015 have not made money oh. You can delude yourself with high numbers due to devaluation but if you have been in the NGX since 2015 you have probably lost value.

A friend of mine bought a property in Orange Island for N50m in 2014/2015. We were talking few weeks ago and he was telling me how it has appreciated to almost N400m. I mentioned to him that hope he knows he has lost money in dollar terms. He replies that we don't spend dollars in Nigeria. At that point I started agreeing with him

He should just buy solid stocks. Look for dividend paying stocks that the expected dividends in the next 8 years or less will give him N28 million.

A yahoo boy bought a block of 4 flats (2 bedroom) for N80 million in 2020 during the lockdown. The rent per apartment was 750k per annum and total return of N3 million, the property should have a current market price of about N150 million but rent is now N1 million per apartment or N4 million for the property.

Just imagine if had bought GTB at N12, Presco at N50, Nahco at N2.50, Zenith at N10 during the lockdown.

Dividends earned from 2020; to date would have paid back the amount invested
He could have also bought Oando at N200 over a decade ago

My fellow investors please help me to evaluate this investment decisions:

I have an offer to undertake a long term lease for a property containing one unit each of 1bedroom flat and 2bedroom flat for 15 years at 28,000,000.
From my investigations I can rent the 1 bedroom currently at between 1,700,000-2,000,000 while the 2bedroom can go between 3,000,000-3,500,000 per anum. The building is just newly completed and at a very good site in Lagos mainland.

Now here is my question:
Investing such amount on this real estate offer and investing same amount on good dividend paying stocks like GT, NAHCO, PRESCO or Okomu which is a better decision at the moment considering preservation of my capital, better ROI and consistent cash flow within the next 15 years?

Please your candid opinion is required.
Go and buy shares in the top 5 most capitalized stocks in the market and rest.
