Career › Re: Man Loses Job After Telling Boss Over Phone His Mum Is An Illiterate by NotGej: 2:56am On Jan 27, 2021 |
CastedAyo: A Twitter user with the Twitter handle @lollypeezle has come online to share how his friend got sacked on Saturday, January 23, Igbere TV reports.
He said that a phone conversation from the boss to the friend when he was beside his mum ruined it all. After their talk, the boss asked to speak to his mother.
The worker humbly told his boss that his mum is illiterate, asking the woman to speak to her in Yoruba only.
He said: “Ma, my mum is illiterate, please speak Yoruba to her instead of English.”
That particular statement angered his boss who asked how dare he talk about the woman like that when his job is to polish her up.
The woman asked if that is the way the worker goes around talking about the company’s clients. After an abrupt disconnection, the man’s contract was terminated via an email.
As at the time of writing this report, the tweet has gathered many reactions from Nigerians who thought the boss' reaction was exaggerated.
https://twitter.com/lollypeezle/status/1353384002628018181?s=20[/quote]Which way Nigeria?!
The term illiterate is not an insult, but a term used in the description of a persons level of education (inability to read or write) etc.
Well it’s the same country that “how are you” na still insult. SMH |

Mynd44: No. You can be good elsewhere, the idea that women must be good in the kitchen only propagate the wrong Idea that they belong there. It also creates a situation where the man is okay not making food because he believes it is the job of the woman. Making food is an art and some people just don't have it.
Although, I believe every human(male or female) should possess the basic skill to make their own food. The food might not be tasteful but they should be able to whip up something so theu shouldn't starve even if they can afford to buy. Atleast sabi cook noodles. My friend women belong there! festacman: Far from bad blood, but who knows FOR SURE what Prince Ned Nwoko does to generate the money he throws around?
I mean you could see Dangote, Oba Otudeko, Tony Elumelu, Innocent Chukwuma (Innoson motors), etc developing new businesses. You could say Atiku, Jagaban, Saraki, Ekweremadu, etc used their positions of trust to unlawfully take generous slices from our national cake.
So, where on earth does Ned Nwoko gets the steady supply of money he spends given that he spends most of his time in Nigeria and not in his law chambers in UK as his Wikipedia page says.
By the way, I wish him well as he keeps enjoying himself with good things of life. No envy. Just curiosity Rest oga! Alhaji Bar. Munir Ned Nwoko is rich. As it stands, the FGN owes him $ millions of dollars for work done for it in the past. Ned made his money from pursuing and recovery of all abacha loot as far back as the early 2000s as a lawyer in the UK. Any time you hear Abacha loots recovered and transferred to Nigeria, just know that Ned gets a fair share of it. That’s in millions of dollars. Do your research. No be everything be fraud. |

franchasng: Which Community Has The Highest Number of Individual Billionaires in Nigeria & Africa
NOTE: the answer is based on the total number of indigenous billionaires from a single town in Nigeria.
Imagine being so rich that you're the first to own a Rolls-Royce in the whole country.
In fact, when the queen visited in 1956, it was your Rolls-Royce she was chauffeured around with.
This man was ‘Louis Odumegwu Ojukwu', the first black billionaire, founding president of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and, was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II. The royal honor came after he helped the British during World War II with his fleet of trucks.
Profiled in September 1965 by TIME magazine, Ojukwu made his money by importing dried fish for resale, and diversifying into textiles, cement and transport. When he died a year later, his wealth was an estimated $4 billion in today’s economic value.
His son, Chukwuemeka, who also ended up a billionaire, returned from Oxford University at 22 with a master’s degree in history and led his fellow Igbos into the Nigerian civil war as head of the secessionist state of Biafra in 1967.
Their hometown Nnewi, in the southeastern state of Anambra, either by good fortune or hard work, has bred more naira billionaires than any other town in Nigeria, and possibly Africa.

clarocuzioo: I have had you peddle this blatant lie continuously on several threads, and it's time to put you in order.
Make no mistakes, Nigeria is a very rich country but unfortunately we have greedy, wicked, selfish and daft people at the helm of affairs, from the Presidency, to senate, governors down to councillors, everybody is interested in where to loot.
Let me also remind you that the present government led by Muhammad Buhari is bereft of ideas regarding wealth creation
Oil is not the only source of revenue, Foreign Direct Investments goes a long way but unfortunately this administration has lost investors confidence and a whole lot of investors are scared of Nigeria.
Go to Rwanda and see what's happening, they don't even have oil, and they are not taxing their people to death but that country is doing absolutely wonderful.
What of Ghana, are they also taxing their citizens to death?
How much was oil when IBB and OBJ ruled this country?
IBB sold at $6, obasanjo sold at $36, but they did a lot of visible and viable project.
So please stop giving the lame excuse of oil.
Show me Buhari's economic blueprint five years after taking over power, none.
The problem is the government not the oil.
I don't know if you are paid to be writing this lame defence. Oga, Nigeria is not a rich country. Not to talk of very rich country. What’s the size of our budget? Compared to other “very rich” countries? Check the UK NHS Budget? Or compare ours with that of South Africa. The earlier you understand these things the better for you. We are a poor country! Forget all the Delusion of grandeur. We get road? Our Mains they function? You get light? No be gen you Dey? Side note: how have we as a country gotten so comfortable with power cuts? We see it as normal. Na thing of shame oo for your very rich country! Our power problem is a simple demand and supply problem that the market Can correct all things being equal. But... |

adanac13: you do not need a lagos contact for NECO everything will be processed in Minna their website is also very functional too so you can call the contact numbers on there all you need to apply 1) buy 2 NECO scratch cards 2) use one of the cards to generate your neck result from the website and print (at least 2 copies) 3) write a letter to NECO requesting that your statement of result be forwarded to your desired destination 4) now if you are sending to WES be sure to quote your reference number and clearly write out their address also state that you are enclosing in the envelop a second scratch card to for posted along with their response to WES 5) Go to remita website and select NECO to make payment 6) now choose your courier service (I used DHL to enable me track the movement, you can also use the tracking number on the envelop addressed to WES on the WES website) 7) buy two courier bags first one should be addressed from you to NECO Minna (enclose in that one the printed statement of result and your application letter and proof of payment on remita(government payment platform)
then the second envelop must be addressed to WES from NECO the second NECO scratch card should be inside this envelop 9) then post to NECO 10) cost 30k+
PS: for 7 above I received a call from a NECO staff telling me I under paid and needed to add 4k, he gave me the option on going back to remita and paying of sending the money to him to make the payment there at their office. It was a risk I had to take cos having to post that one again would cost me another 4k+ so i took the chance. Luckily the guy made the payment and sent me a photo of my receipt .
Don't worry its not stressful don't be intimidated by the long post
Infact let me add the response from NECO
Do find below the procedure for result confirmation.
Apply for confirmation of result, the fee of which is 1,050 Naira payable into the National Examinations Council's Treasury Single Account (TSA), payment of which can only be made in Nigeria. Attach the original copy of the payment receipt and an online copy of your result to your letter of request for result confirmation. You are to submit via speed post/courier service delivery directly to the following:
· OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR, · NATIONAL EXAMINATIONS COUNCIL, · KILOMETER 8, BIDA ROAD, MINNA, · NIGER STATE.
· Please note: you are to make provisions for the posting of the result confirmation to the destination school/institution, by including a self-paid speed-post return envelope, already addressed to the recipient, as this will facilitate quick delivery. Also, note that you need to indicate the recipient in your application as we do not give confirmed results to candidates directly. My first encouter is that they dont speak English and its so difficult to communicate. Even hotel receptionist cant communicate fluently in English. It was night already and i needed to fill my empty stomach. See list of food attached in the Picture. I odered for Beef Stew which comes with rice and Potato as attached in the Picture. I also requested for Fanta, i wonder why Nigeria does not have
this kind of Fanta anymore though. The food cost 2700rwf, Fanta is 600rwf and water is 400rwf. After Dinner, i took a night walk and found a Club closer to my hotel, I entered and the music i heard them playing was Wizkid and Davido... WOW!!! Interesting right? I ordered for Primus, and i got into conversation with the manager who explained to me how much they love Nigerian Artists more than their own Artists. He's tellling me to help him come to Nigeria and i told him he needs 500,000rwf to come down to Nigeria. This guy is ready to pay me this money ooo... Na so I go just scam am Lol... Ask your self, why you have to even tell them what they like to hear.
