Explorers:I used it throughout primary and secondary school. We learnt the tricks on how to wash it after several falls. Sometimes we even used the cracked glasses in school and just cover part of the broken part with paper or strong leaves. We call it mpalaka/ otenikang. There is a bigger and brighter one called “ Tili”. I don’t know the real name but my dad would pump it and it will get brighter and brighter until the kerosine inside is made to “turn to gas”. Very bright but expensive then. |
cooooooks:Lol! Let’s say technically Moses wasn’t a christian. Moses worshipped God Jehovah Yahweh, maybe in Judaism but not in Christianity. Technically… But Jesus said before Abraham, I was. So the technicalities do not matter after all. |
Hayee:Heeee? Collectively and mutually confused human entities? |
ThatFairGuy:Lol! That’s grasshopper. Crickets are different. They make noise from holes in our village football fields and in the nights when they flap their wings. In our primary school days, we would use fresh leaves to lure them from their holes and get the big ones out. |

mema900:I didn’t say you are a preacher. I am only saying everyone and every child of God has their area of emphasis. Maybe he is fulfilling his. Cheers |
mema900:Lol! Our God is a good, loving and merciful God but is also a sovereign ruler and a terrible majesty. Besides, if all the preachers are Kumuyi, many people in Christ embassy or House on the Rock won’t be believers. If all the Pastors are like Christ Oyakilome, most people in Assemblies of God church or deeper life won’t be christians. There is an audience for Pastor Righteousness. There is an audience for you and your style of preaching. Cheers |
Righteousness2:Yes oooo |
vinceyinnovation:Correct! |
AlexBells:That’s what you said initially. It’s just a personal opinion by you. When I challenged it, you didn’t counter it. We cannot be going in Circles. If you accept all I said about the claims of Jesus about God, that’s fine. But if you don’t, then say why. Thanks |
AlexBells:You drifted again. |
Enceladus:Thanks. What if the universe acts this way because it had been designed to act that way? What if Jupiter had been designed to act that way? You see how mighty aircrafts and sea vessels are , yet controlled by tiny humans. Size is not often equivalent to quality. Humans and the earth need not be bigger than Jupiter for us to understand how special humans are to God and in the scheme of things. Jupiter will not make any move on us. Humans will still make all the moves to explore nature. That’s an indication we are special. |
AlexBells:You drifted in your 2 responses. I wish you could go back and see my point and then respond. If we continue like this, we won’t even remember again what we were discussing. Moses brought the law and taught what God expects. Jesus made claims of coming from God and taught about the kingdom of God and said anyone who wants to get to God should look at him. He performed miracles to show he was as divine figure. We believe the Bible because of Jesus and not because of Moses. |
Enceladus:What intelligence disappears? Humans have never claimed to have fathomed out all about reality. But they keep searching and making progress. Based on the part of reality we are aware of, only humans have been able to do that. Humans have ruled parts of nature on earth. |
AlexBells:So you agree on Jesus Christ of Nazareth historicity right? Then what I said earlier stands. Jesus taught us about God and we know Jesus’ claims are true. Because of Jesus Christ, we believe and trust the Bible to be true. Or do you have anything against that? |
AlexBells:The date of birth of Jesus of Nazareth is not stated in the gospels or in any secular text, but most scholars assume a date of birth between 6 BC and 4 BC.[1] Two main methods have been used to estimate the year of the birth of Jesus: one based on the accounts of his birth in the gospels with reference to King Herod's reign, and another based on subtracting his stated age of "about 30 years" from the time when he began preaching (Luke 3:23) in "the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar" (Luke 3:1-2): the two methods indicate a date of birth before Herod's death in 4 BC, and a date of birth around 2 BC, respectively. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronology_of_Jesus |
prince4pro2:So you saw this ebuali/ajuala snake that appears calm but very venomous, and you allowed it go? Pls were you scared? |
Enceladus:Humans are special in every kind of way that God made them. Humans are special in every kind of way they have realistically existed. As at date, there is nothing higher than humans in nature. Unless you think size is always equivalent to quality. A comparison between 1kg of gold and 1 kg of sand dust or the value attached to a small baby of yours and a big elephant can point out that size is often not same as quality. Humans don’t have to be as big as the sun to be special and rule the universe. They only need to be connected to their God and exhibit their God-given abilities that are inert and sometimes latent, to dominate nature. They have done it overtime and will continue to do it. |
AlexBells:It is a historical fact. Jesus physically came here and made those claims and taught us that he was from God. He said so many things that came to happen. And these things are thereafter recorded in the Bible. So we believe all Jesus said to be true because he made good of his claims. And because of Jesus Christ, we have now come to believe the Bible. This is where the information came from. |
Kuriosmynd:Awesome! Amazing! But I didn’t question my existence a bit. The Bible says what is man that God takes so much account and thought for him. God had given man charge and dominion over the entire universe. We can conquer, observe, fathom out all around us. And humans will always do. That’s the amazing part. So what I question is why God is particularly interested in humans and why humans as small as they are in comparison to the universe are able to take charge of reality much bigger than them. |
Sonnobax15:Rice that was cooked and eaten occasionally and on special days back then, na wetin only you and your friend go down a whole pot? Should I say you deserved what came to you thereafter? Lol |
Firemanromance:You may not like what the Bible says about this in Proverbs 6, but that’s just an incontrovertible and incontestable fact: “For the commandment is a lamp, and the whole teaching [of the law] is light, and reproofs of discipline are the way of life, [Ps. 19:8; 119:105.] To keep you from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a loose woman. Lust not after her beauty in your heart, neither let her capture you with her eyelids. For on account of a harlot a man is brought to a piece of bread, and the adulteress stalks and snares [as with a hook] the precious life [of a man]. Can a man take fire in his bosom and his clothes not be burned? Can one go upon hot coals and his feet not be burned? So he who cohabits with his neighbor's wife [will be tortured with evil consequences and just retribution]; he who touches her shall not be innocent or go unpunished. But whoever commits adultery with a woman lacks heart and understanding (moral principle and prudence); he who does it is destroying his own life. Wounds and disgrace will he get, and his reproach will not be wiped away. For jealousy makes [the wronged] man furious; therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance [upon the detected one]. He will not consider any ransom [offered to buy him off from demanding full punishment]; neither will he be satisfied, though you offer him many gifts and bribes.” Proverbs 6:23-29, 32-35 AMPC |

I used to think this was a joke ooo. Why is the matter gaining momentum like this? Please anyone who is well versed on this issue should tell us the true position of things. GTB is one the systemically important banks in Nigeria. |
