For five years, she worked as a trial attorney with the United States Department of Justice, which is prior to her recent appointment and in which she has participated and led to investigations on complex white-collar.

Also, resulting in many high-profile accounts sending tweets fraudulently promising followers that they would double Bitcoin (BTC) payments sent to a specific address, she did contribute to that NYDFS report about the July 2020 hack on Twitter. Though the former DOJ attorney’s views on crypto have not been widely reported.

One River Asset Management, a crypto investment manager has appointed Jay Clayton, the , former chairman of SEC that stepped down in 2020, to its regulatory advisory council.

The above stated appointment is coming three months after his resignation from United States Securities and Exchange Commission and the appointment shows changing of guard from the former securities regulator.

In addition to Jay Clayton, among the One River Asset Management’s newly appointed regulatory and academic advisory council are Kevin Hassett of The Lindsey Group and Jon Orszag of Compass Lexecon. Up till now, the role of Jay Clayton is yet unknown, but Eric Peters the CEO of One River stated that its goal is to bring to the board distinguished personnel’s with diverse regulatory and policy experience’

According to Clayton:

“We were impressed by Eric’s willingness to hear our varying views on the digitization of our monetary, banking and capital markets ecosystem and One River’s commitment to transparency,”

Clayton served a three-and-a-half-year stint at the SEC before resigning on Dec. 23, 2020. His tenure was defined by a substantial increase in monetary remedies, possibly to the tune of over $14 billion, and returning billions to harmed investors.

There is a good probability that the U.S government could ban Bictoin just as it did with gold ownership in the 1930’s as posited by the $10 billion hedge Fund Bridgwater Associates during an interview with Yahoo Finance editor-in-chief on March 24.

The banning of gold ownership in 1930’s was premised on the fact that the government leaders at that time did not want fiat money and credit to compete with gold as a store of wealth.

Dalio further opined that:

“They don’t want other monies to be operating or competing because things can get out of control. So I think that it would be very likely that you will have it, under a certain set of circumstances, outlawed the way gold was outlawed.”

The Iranian government just authorized cryptocurrency mining as an industrial activity.

A report from IIDO on July 29th revealed that the decision was taken this weekend, during a Sunday cabinet session chaired by Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani.

With mining now officially authorized, entities engaged in the activity will be required to seek a license from Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.

Mehr News reports that many experts are interpreting the move as being the first step towards the legalization of cryptocurrencies in Iran, as it will help them to dodge United States sanctions which might have contributed to damaging the country's economy.

The decision still noted that using cryptocurrencies for domestic transactions remains outlawed and that those engaged in the industry should bear responsibility for the risks without any guarantees from the government.

tZERO, a subsidiary of popular cryptocurrency-friendly retailer Overstock, has launched a cryptocurrency wallet and exchange application for Android devices.

The press release revealed that the app is available on Google’s Play Store, and is similar to the one tZERO launched for iOS devices but includes a customizable user interface.
