Whether Amosun stole it from New York is not the issue here! What matters is "where are these companies rushing to?" Is it boko Haram infested states? Or states that nobody knows where to find on the maps? Or the South west that even her greatest enemies are now trying to secure businesses, houses, jobs, shops and nowadays, even begging spaces at? In nature, plants look up to the sun because without it, they wither and die! So it is that in Nigeria, a particular region is sought after even when hated! If it is NOT Nigeria's SUN, why do people want to die there by force? |
If Fashola was governor of that state, would such have happened? Truth is that authority HAS to stand up to wrong but in Nigeria, people turn everything to emotions! If the noise we see here was replicated to members of houses of assemble, NASS and the Senate by constituencies, pressure would be brought to bear making laws restricting them to demarcated grazing lands! But GEJ wants votes instead of law & order, Bipi wants policemen to shoot a governor because of his Jesus of Okrika instead of fighting to protect his constituency from fulani herdsmen and everyone is cursing Fashola because its "our" people he deported! Yet now our innocent brothers and sisters are being miamed, everyone forgets that by refusing to insist govt does what it was voted into power for (and complaining when its against "our" brothers), we are the ones allowing these fulani animals control over our futures! |
Whatever anyone does to the Igbos, I doubt this president will do more than play to the gallery by ignoring such! He has them and is looking for more support! A few killed here or there is negligible since the rest will follow him anyway! Wish an eastern govt would try same to Hausas and then, you'll see a reaction! Its just as Amaechi can be despised but Aliyu and co are feared, cuddled, kow-towed to and feted! We deserve who we voted for! |
Same way the man said international sources had scored him highest on the fight against corruption only for the organization to deny it! Those who surround this man should spend 72 hours in the guard-room at NA Depot! Lies lies lies and seems he swallows all without cross-checking! No wonder he believes Nigeria is becoming better under him |
mekaboy: This igbo deportation issue has been on for so long, it is time to put ethnic spectacles down and look at the situation clearly.People who think dispassionately like this and ask questions rather than scream, are to be commended. |
He-poppo The real thing |
berem: does anyone really take asari dokubo seriously? mtscheeew! You'd be surprised, sis, cos reading thru responses to earlier rants from this certified half-loony windbag, some posters here actually do take him serious! Here's hoping this his latest monologue will help aso rock wake up and smell the coffee |
Wow - one of the very best on NL - take comfort in knowing that most everyone here wishes you the very best and looks forward to you re-joining us after convalescence! Best wishes and hope that you recover soon, dear Sir! |
So, Amaechi wins again? Seems the majority of both the PDP controlled houses agree that the President and wife are responsible for this crisis and that its not for any democratic purposes but rather for selfish self-serving reasons! Sad day for the pro-GEJ activists because the noise about the power of the Presidency's ability to swat Amaechi like a fly has just been shut up! It would be in GEJ's interest to totally quieten and in private, prostrate before Amaechi else this saga will cause total disgrace eventually! Even Abacha didn't evoke this type of hatred and acrimony from Nigeria |
She also shamed PEJ for keeping quiet about the issue while sticking her hands in other matters! By the way, is it because Yerima is arranging meetings with islamists for GEJ and also that children cannot vote for him that the plight of little female children has so far flown over her head? Truth always shows - a diseased head corrupts the body |
Paper improvements.Who said we have just about 4,000 recently being fed? What has been happening to the remaining 8497 - 4000 since 2010? no wonder mermaids are coming out into town - maybe all the wastage went into the atlantic and they prefer less power Bloody idiotic liars ![]() |
LOL - Are you people serious? You really expect PEJ to talk about perverts like Yerima sleeping with 6 year olds? How will that help GEJ get re-elected or is that not the only thing that matters? Who cares about if 2,000,000 young girls are destroyed forever, except me and you? Is it the same Yerima that finally arranged a meeting between GEJ and hardline muslims towards them helping him win 2015, that you want Patience Jonathan to now criticize? Obviously, the meaning of "I don't give a damn" is lost on many of us |
This interview details why Wole Soyinka is so respected internationally as an activist and also shows the extent of his intellect as opposed to the noise-makers screaming like banshees against a very simple concept. For those insulting him and seeing only the words he used, maybe its time you read again and understand that ALL he is saying is that if the president doesn't control the first lady, he (GEJ) puts his wife in a situation where all and sundry will correct her on his behalf and he won't like that. In case you all failed to notice, that is what has already been happening anyway. Simply put, IF GEJ put a leash on his wife and she behaves like Michelle Obama, people would relate to her just as Obama is related to. If you insist she behaves like a lady, other men (people) won't call her unflattering names. However, if you allow her to insult the sensibilities of the public, that same public (which he, Dayokanu etc belongs to) WILL put her in the place you have refused to put her in. And they WILL NOT be kind about it. GEJ, make your choice |
This man is a more experienced politician than those we call politicians |
Over 10, 000 YOUTHS! I thought the refrain on Nairaland is that everybody hates Amaechi in Rivers. So, are these almaghiris imported from Maiduguri to go protect Amaechi from his people that hate him? And why didn't the real people go there now that Amaechi's supporters showed up? |
This is good news and I sincerely pray we see these things start being actualised presently! Some may feel this post is insincere but well.... whoever sees a good thing and isn't happy with it is an animal - truth is the average Nigerian doesn't care who lives in aso rock - we mostly just want things to work, not be told why they can't daily! Real kudos will come when these things start being implemented! |
redsun: Why did he kill his son's dog? Under what circumstance?Nigeria Even killing his son's dog is now a crime because the man spoke out against excesses? But when he fought for GEJ and when he spoke against GMB, he was brilliant, a patriot, etc, right? ![]() |
Where does decency even start to come into the lexicon of these people? So now a "bomb" explodes (of course safely away from the "target" and noise will begin that due to the insecurity in the state and etc etc, a state of emergency should be declared etc etc, right? And people feel this will continue without a breaking point being reached? Abacha killed, imprisoned, framed and had better boot-lickers! Yet in the end, got his judgement and is remembered with ignomy! We will see history very soon! |
At times, I wonder if the woman really supports the husband. All these negative news surely can't be something one seeks |
@OP: When Wole Soyinka wrote about Gen Buhari, what did you say? Was he also wrong then? Or is it only when he complains about GEJ or PEJ that he becomes wrong and a cultist ![]() Its reprehensible that you people clutch to straws to justify whatever fancy presently catches you but lets say it simply like this - If he was right complaining about Buhari, he is right complaining about PEJ or GEJ or whoever. Interestingly, this man has ALWAYS stood against GMB yet in the past, was a strident voice against the injustice that kept GEJ out of Aso-Rock. Now that he suggests correction of "extremities", he has suddenly become a demon? |
ujchief: GEJ should have known better. The more he fights Amaechi, the more Amaechi garners more supporters and sympathizers. But his wife, as I suspected, wouldn't know when best to throw in the towel. She'll keep fighting until she leads her husband to self_destruction.Which is what remains my puzzle - this man is a governor, a post your husband once had and has "surpassed"! Why not just let him run his kingdom (as it were)? This endless bickering cannot but reduce you and husband and its making someone who would have been ignored, become a poster child for the struggle against oppression! I blame the advicers at Aso Rock - it does truly seem that those who pretend to be friends are usually one's greatest enemies |
With the federal house of reps now handling the state's legislative functions, it seems Amaechi has again risen above attempts to push him out! I wonder how Bipi and whoever beat the drums to his dance now feel, realising that except the FHR rescinds its decision, Amaechi is untouchable until 2015! Shame on whoever the drummers are |
bruceus: I bought a 5000 kgs/day cube ice machine from a company named as CBFI icesource refrigerationSorry but you can't get help that will help you from people who don't know what the conditions of power are like here! Its not just our ambient heat but repeated start-ups and shut downs, low current, high current and the desire for ice that's more like concrete than solid water! Look for soneone who understands electricity - that's where your real issue is from what you have stated above |
I am always reminded of MacBeth |
5 makes 2/3rds of 11? interesting math there ![]() |
django1: Shymexx let me tell you something about those old structures you're looking at, most of them are family houses, where more than 15 families claim as their family compound. Why they don't renovate it I don't know, but what I know is, even to sell it is a big problem, because no one single person, not even the Mogaji can do anything without the approval of other arms of the family, you can imagine that most people were polygamous back then, those are many of the hindrances to the quick development of the ancient part of ibadan. To support your assertion, someone showed me a former governor's house (at Eleta area) - I was DAZED! OLD. With a shrine right in front of it. These are extremely wealthy people who can transform not just their own homes but indeed the entire area. Yet all done was provision of a borehole and tarred road past the house. For some strange reason, seems the families insist and so, its only when the old brigade is totally wiped out that development comes and that usually is outright sale of the properties. Its incongruous ![]() |
Ibadan is changing - it was slow but believe me, whats happening now will surprise many. That's why I am using photos that show not just roads, but what we are building nowadays, like below
|
Good news (for GEJ)! But so did people (governors for that matter) "endorse" Jang then vote for Amaechi |
biafranqueen: Have not been to this part yetIts a huge place,so large that its over 40 years I first got there and while I went to both high school and university plus have also lived there over 15 years, I doubt I know more than 2/3rds of it |
ngozievergreen: Guy, remove Lagos from the equation.Ma'am, If not for anything else but because of you, I will go out once this fuel crisis is past and come post photos that will let you know why in Ibadan, we usually laugh at Lagosians and call them vacuous boasters. This is the town where individuals build 15 storey buildings |
