newken: Give Us 15% of Royalty or forget Justice – Politicians

...
.....

.......

Same cannot be said of politicians presently at the elms of power demanding a staggering 15% of the royalties to be gotten from the invention as compensation to get the denied justice. I wonder how much Mobil would have paid Politicians and Judges to influence the outcome of the case at the Supreme Court.

Justice truly is for Sale.
Yet asked who you'd want as President June 1st, 2015, I wonder who you'd name your choice

What a shame! ZIK, ATB, MRM, OBJ'S EFFORTS ALL IN VAIN!

NIGERIA needs serious prayer to survive the remaining one and half year of this CALAMITY called GEJ.
Bro: Please this is going too far -its like this post is on every thread I have opened today. We all know that was just a joke against the President and that he placed himself in such a ridiculous position by omission or commission but you are taking it too far and it is distasteful

PoliticsRe: The Toll Booths At The New Ikoyi Link Bridge.pics by nuclearboy(m): 2:47am On Jun 03, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: Foul smelling hypocrisy of ACN internet rats on display. These were the same people that opposed the removal of fuel subsidy. They said govt must stop corruption and cut the cost of governance before removing fuel subsidy. But this same people tell us its okay to toll the only major structures built by LASG completely with tax payers money. Why not ask Fashola to stop corruption in the state and reduce cost of govt before imposing extra tax burden on the people? Hypocrites!

Is there much difference between people paying extra through increased fuel price and people paying extra through toll gates. They say there are alternatives but we know the so called alternative routes are 'suffering routes'. It is like choosing between the devil (paying the toll) and the deep blue sea (the so called alternative routes). Hypocrites!

And when people complain, ACN e-warriors will bring up tribal sentiments.

Notwithstanding the shameless hypocrisy, I understand the need for tolling of select roads and bridges to guarantee steady flow of funds to fix more infrastructures. But there are pertinent issues. How are we sure the funds realised from the tolls will be ploughed back to fix more roads? Can we say for sure that the money is not entering Thief Tinubu's or anti-poor Fashola's pocket? Why not set up and independent agency or body of govt (LASG) that will SPECIFICALLY manage the funds (collect and plough it back to the roads) and give transparent account?

Who determines or fixes the toll fees? Is it at the whims and caprices of anti-poor Fashola and thief Tinubu? There should be an independent way of determining fees. I think the N250 or N300 toll fees on that bridge is too exorbitant, especially considering that it was built completely with tax payers money. Why not N50 or at most N100? Why are anti-poor Fashola and thief Thinubu in a HURRY to recoop the investment on the road?
Dude:

Try to be sincere for once! The argument about fuel subsidy was that it was the poor man's ONLY panacea in a harsh economy. This bridge is the EXACT OPPOSITE as it gets money from only the rich + there are alternative routes which remain FREE!
PoliticsRe: The Toll Booths At The New Ikoyi Link Bridge.pics by nuclearboy(m): 2:43am On Jun 03, 2013
flexshop: In as much as the infrastructural development of LASG is laudable,I insist that roads and bridges are one of the basic ameanities any sane government owes its citizenry.these services are why citizens pay taxes.BRF is the only opposition candidate that I can vote for if he contests for president but I have issues with these sort of things.if there must be tolls, remove taxes and toll all government services. Tolling amounts to double taxation if you ask me. I'm praying the FG does not copy this cos PDP will take it to the extreme, heck, the air we breathe will be tolled
Your double taxation concept makes sense!

However, look at it like this ..... The money raised from the tolls goes to providing more services for Lagosians. Imagine such bridges springing up all over, making the Lagos 6 hour journey become a 30 minute journey - the extra time gained back is worth much more than this toll. Its like buying back man-hours! And time IS money!

Its a brilliant way to raise funds for future development in a situation where there are limited funds and a huge demand for infrastructure to catch up with an exploding population! And I am certain you'd rather use the bridge and get home in good time rather than become hypertensive in 6 hours of traffic.

Always keep your worst enemy very close, so that you will always monitor his moves not very far as they are doing now with Amaechi.
We will see.
Please Sir, leave them. In 2015, GEJ will send Dokubo to rig 30% of the votes in Sokoto for him. He will send Tompolo to handle Katsina state. And he will send this child called Billygoat with Chaloner assisting to handle Niger state.

This is what everyone keeps telling these children on NL - no reasoning adult burns bridges the way GEJ, his kinsmen and his supposed "friends" do - is it the insults you heap on everyone that will make them vote for your man? I look at the fool called Dokubo and laugh - his threat is making people say they will NEVER vote Jonathan cos they want to see their worst. Yet you tell them and they grow hackles.

PoliticsRe: How Saintly Is Rotimi Amaechi? by nuclearboy(m): 8:45pm On Jun 01, 2013
Nogen: The Nigerian Gazette
OPINION: IS ROTIMI AMAECHI THE SAINT HE WANTS US TO BELIEVE?

1. Rotimi Amechi in 1998 was jobless, his wife Judith was a house girl to Peter Odili while he was an errand boy for Peter Odili buying fuel and diesel and doing school runs. his abode was a Boys Quarters in Pano Clinic,Peter Odili's clinic in Port harcourt.

2.When in 1999 Peter Odili became the governor of Rivers State he made his house boy Rotimi the speaker rivers state house of assembly to the chagrin of the elites in Rivers state.

3.Together the house boy (speaker) and master Peter Odili looted the economy of rivers state

4.When Rotimi declared his intention to be governor of Rivers state, Obasanjo told us in a stadium in ph that N50b was found in Rotimi's account that he is a thief having known where he is coming from; Peter Odilis house boy. this led to his protracted court case after the election.

5. Rotimi rebelled against his Master Peter Odili who warned him against his ambition and ran to ghana where he used billions stolen from the coffers of River state to bribe his way to become the governor of Rivers state today.

6. Rotimi has continued looting the economy of Rivers state through inflated contracts and outright stealing of the state's fund. Today he has a refinery in ghana and choice properties in and outside the country

7. One of the problems GEJ is having with Rotimi today is that Rotimi approached the VP and told him to run against the president in 2015 that he will bank role him. The VP reported the matter to the president.

8. Rotimi has given the sum of N50M to the 27 house members in support of him that is a total sum of N1.35b Rivers state peoples money to stop them from impeaching him.

9.Today Rotimi a house boy turned billionaire with stolen public funds is telling us that he is a saint and has something to offer.

10. Rotimi out of greed is destroying the only chance the minority Niger delta have to rule this country.

Oya, over to you Pro Amechi and Anti Amechi Peeps, Over to you guys!
Neither pro or anti - Amaechi. Yet a few observations.......

1. Who he was in 1998 means exactly what? Cos who was Obasanjo in 1998? A convicted prisoner, isn't it? How about now?
2. House boy? Na wa O - what is wrong with Labor? should people who weren't born to governors kill themselves?
3. He looted? Substantiate please - Me too gave Dangote a loan for 350 Billion Dollars yesterday! Prove me wrong!
4. Rebel? Refinery? 1.35 Billion? Prove them! OR prove I am not half man, half spirit!
5. He hasn't said he is a saint! From what people say of Rivers development recently, he DOES have something to offer!
6. Last I knew, GEJ is from Niger Delta so ND is ruling the country!

Personally, I don't care one way or another - the earlier they all get rid of one another (exposing themselves whist at it), the sooner serious, honest, reasoning people will come to the fore! But all these campaigns of calumny are only spoiling YOUR OWN FUTURES - who will EVER trust NDs again after all the mindless politicking which has so engrossed you that governance is being forgotten?

Did Elijah the Prophet keep quiet about issues in his day? If so, why was he hunted by the King?

Did John the Baptist keep quiet in the face of evil? Why was his head served on a plate like Akara?

Did Christ keep quiet about "white washed sepulchers" and the "rulers" he continually berated? Why did they haunt him onto the Cross?

The last time I checked, democracy is the government of the people, by the people and for the people.

Why would OBJ detect, nominate, impose or rig in a Governor for the people of Jigawa? And even have the guts to openly announce it...congratulating him and himself as per being "the god" of the people of Jigawa.

This is an insult to the people of Jigawa...this is a let down and injustice. A show of shame!

How do you shame people who are shameless? An election amongst 35 adults, leaders, governors who EACH have control over Billions, taken to conclusion, and announced and NOW with video evidence, is being contested and disproved YET you want to shame these?

How?

Ultimately, I see a situation of total anarchy because these WILL wish to manipulate 2015 and only God knows what will follow! Whoever or whichever it is, matters little!

What really matters is that most voted for Jang but will turn against Jonathan at the "right time" - as Koruji said, this election was to give a false impression of "support" for someone who is mostly detested across the land right now.

To avoid suspicion, those who have been most verbose voted against whist the true GEJ look alikes (who wait till you are down then tread upon you) will bide their time and mirror to him what he did to the north at the right time.

My only concern is that GEJ is setting up the SS for a real fall. He has deployed a SoE in a specific manner and with Dokubo's noise etc, when the night of the long knives comes, (and those thugs try to cause problems) the next president already has a precedent set by their own son to do same to the SS (searching for weapons and disarming them)

We model our system of democracy on what is practiced in more advanced nations, and yet obstinately refuse to entrench the rights it affords to its adherents.

The views expressed by some commentators on this thread is clearly symptomatic of all that is wrong with the current system.
What most don't see is the lesson of the past - the person who has most to lose is the one who WILL lose most.

Which is why the comments fly by me. They only portend a more pitiable ending for the main actor, because no matter what happens NOW, this president has finally been totally demystified simply by sticking his fingers in this. Any ragamuffin can now aspire to dare him since, its been done and successfully too

Bros,

Amaechi is PDP

Jonathan is PDP

Both are South-South Politicians from the Oil producing region and both were governors.

Jonathan was NOT supposed to contest 2011 - that is the undiluted truth. But he expessed interest, was allowed, was supported by even the north he now sees as his greatest enemy, won (subject to quite a bit of dissent)and now he wants 2015. Fair enough, its a man's right to decide how he wishes to be seen (either as a gentleman or a traitor to agreements).

So why can't Amaechi want whatever he aspires to? If you believe you are the best, allow others compete with you, simple!

Those supporting Jonathan against Amaechi in a purely democratic process have very short memories!

How many years ago was Jonathan the underdog with Turai Yaradua and co insulting him, relegating him to the background and generally behaving as if they owned Nigeria?

NOW Jonathan is doing the same thing they did to him and has forgotten that those who live by the sword die by it - You got there because people saw the injustice being meted against you and fought for you at a time when Yaradua's ADC could pull out his service weapon and intimidate you. Now, a man who was loved, prayed for and supported, has turned against the very people who supported him and is now a reincarnation of Turai!

People ought remember where they are coming from else they will be returned back.
