PoliticsRe: Jonathan Is The Most Maligned Nigerian Leader, Says Precidency. True Or False? by nuclearboy(m): 12:00pm On Jun 14, 2013
Koruji has spoken! People like myself find it sad and remember the good will President Jonathan started with! Seen as a victim of the deliberate callous past, we all looked at GEJ as a difference, the background, the "luck", the no shoe story etc and the insults from Turai's cabal!

Yet today, most would prefer Turai in place of the lack of political will and the pandering to anything that can affect 2015 rather than doing his work!
He has made himself the easiest target on earth because rather than govern, abati and okupe and other online warriors assail even those who supported him with insults daily! And all we hear are excuses why the President can't address his duties (UN comes to mind) - very irritating stuff!

Imagine supporters saying they will buy Tinubu again in 2015? Who is better? Bribed or briber? Yet everyone else is supposedly unpatriotic yet again, you expect them to love you! And corruption has grown o much it now stands on 2 feet, walks into supermarkets to buy stuff and orders people around confidently!

Pitiable, self-serving! I need to go throw up

PoliticsRe: Tinubu's APC E-warriors Are Suffering From Chronic Bad-belleism- A Silent Killer by nuclearboy(m): 10:07am On Jun 12, 2013
Another perplexing thread!

Well, according to this line of reasoning, Wole Soyinka is also a Tinubu apologist! So is the late Chinua Achebe who distanced himself from the Nigerian government! So is David Cameron of the UK who wondered what all the money went on! So is the US department of State, Barack Obama and 159 million Nigerians who feel let down that they are suffering while statistics are being reeled out!

NOBODY on this forum can show one comment where I supported Tinubu or praised him! Yet I guess telling you now to work rather than seeing enemies everywhere will now make me a Tinubu apologist, right? Fine, so be it! But you are fooling only yourself calling neutrals enemies! Some just want a better deal from people they voted for!

But to you, it is only card carrying pdp members and those who sing praises of GEJ or earn money in one way or other from pdp that are not Tinubu apologists, if we are to tow this line!

I wonder what this perception means to those in power if everyone outside your government and ethnic group has problems with you! I would have expected you work at ensuring people see your policies on their tables, in their tummies and not come out to insult people's sensibilities by calling anyone haters!

If you call people haters of Jonathan, remember - the natural retort is straight forward, that Jonathan is a hater of the people since action and reaction are equal and opposite

So it is the National chairmen of the "merging" parties?

Yet the propaganda machine had chosen Modu Sheriff as the substantive chairman for a party they are a part of and implied this is Abubakar Shekau's party!!!

People are so dishonest and lacking in integrity in this country that we approach that time when, when greeted good morning, it may be better to go look outside

naptu2: That's why I mentioned Giwa Barracks. Please try and find out what was happening there.

1) There is no guarantee that the person will appear before a judge.

2) Even if the person does appear before a judge, what would have happened to him before he gets to court?
Aside what could or may not have happened, what of the propaganda effect? He has not condemned BH is a familiar refrain already - what then happens when it becomes "he was even arrested for terrorism"? PDP has spent millions on such campaigns and no reasoning human would trust "do or die" politicians with such powers!

Is it governors who agreed to vote then changed their minds when elections didn't go their way that should have sweeping powers? Or in a country where PCA is kicked out on spurious reasons because he doesn't tow the line? What judge will face these people after seeing "that"?
PoliticsRe: Gbawe, Whats Your Take On ACN's Stand On Boko Haram? by nuclearboy(m): 1:29pm On Jun 11, 2013
@DS:

Let's look at GEJ's own mediation panel - do you realise that it could be argued they are law breakers if they do have any contact with boko haram?

Which returns us to the real fear - that the above means if say, Sambo is discovered fraternising with BH, GEJ can say "he works for me and thus I decide he is NOT wrong" but if Amaechi (example) is, then same GEJ can say "I don't like his face so I pronounce him terrorist"!

Being a lawyer, you surely understand the concept of "definition"! The absence of such in this issue is bot to be lauded as it grants sweeping powers, accuser, witness, judge and executioner - ALL
PoliticsRe: Gbawe, Whats Your Take On ACN's Stand On Boko Haram? by nuclearboy(m): 12:16pm On Jun 11, 2013
@DS:

I believe the complaint is about the process of determining what "aids" terrorism and who decides what that is!

Todays news has it (for example) that Borno youths in "Gwange 1" are aiding the JTF identify boko haram members! Consider a scenario where someone decides the reporter of such news has, by stating what ward and locality, passed on information to the murderer Shekau (thus helping him identify his enemies and deal with them) and thus has fallen foul of this "open ended" edict! What if they now arrest and sentence (?) such reporters in lieu of clearly stated indices?

The ONLY problem I see ACN complaining of is the leeway this allows for interpretation!

I assume you are considering decency but in Nigeria, that is an unaffordable luxury
PoliticsRe: Ribadu Is An Attention-seeker / Career Was Built On Bootlicking - Presidency by nuclearboy(m): 11:33pm On Jun 10, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: Notwithstanding my respect for Ribadu, its FIRE-FOR-FIRE, no slacking.

Why would Ribadu describe the govt of GEJ as a "sinking ship" if not to score cheap political points? Yes, Ribadu has the right to criticise the govt but I dont think sweeping statements like "sinking ship" or "urging the Nigerian youths to rise up and take the country" can be regarded as criticisms. If anything, it is a vicious attack on the govt and Abati's response is justified.

If Ribadu thinks the reforms going on in the power sector is wrong, he can criticise it and if possible proffer alternatives. Ditto for any other sectors. That is constructive criticisms.

By the way, what sector of our national life can be described as "sinking" under GEJ? Is it the railways, aviation, federal roads, health, education, anti-corruption, job creation, life expectancy, foreign reserves, sports, elections, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, rule of law, institutional growth and development, security, electric power, etc? We have seen significant PROGRESS in most of these sectors in the last 2-3yrs.
Take a look at the man on the street's stomach, purse and quality of life! And please do NOT go near the issue of security!

Find Out!:
Actually, Oritsejeafor/PDP is expecting him to do just that, like he did against Abati, so that they can shout ''religious bigot'' again.
Its obvious that is what Oritse wants - a law suit that they can then say is Islamic fanaticism versus Christian holiness and politicize.

However, God is watching and way I see it, Jehovah looks at the heart, not the Cloak or the pretense. Whoever is being truthful and sincere will be justified and the wrong party will be punished whichever is Christian or Muslim

Gbawe: Bro,as a decent poster, I would not want you to be taken in by the blatant lie of the biggest and most hateful conman on Nairaland. Scroll above to see my post where I show that Oyo planned to supplement the 2012 budget with a N50 billion loan. The Government did not go on to take said loan and this actually resulted in budget implementation success of 70%. Bruv, never take Anonimi seriously. He is nothing but a hateful criminal and conman with no iota of morality or decency at all.
I wasn't! Just wanted him to climb the tree past the leaves wink

I am currently in Ibadan and have been following Ajimobi as an impartial observer and I have stated on other threads that despite my misgivings about politicians, this is one man that amazes me! In another thread, I detailed meeting him driving his Acura with just 2 policemen and peoplehe had displaced at Molete were cheering him even when he stopped to warn that they were again moving onto the road - I was dazed as I expected booing and curses. Ibadan is changing

EducationRe: 2013 F G C Cutoffs: Anambra 139, Imo 138, Yobe 2! by nuclearboy(m): 8:51pm On Jun 08, 2013
It "DOES" seem like cheating to allow 2 and 134 sit in the same class!

However, even the Kingdom of God allows both wheat and tares to grow together until the Harvest as a number of posters here have pointed out in different ways.

Those who designed the "UNITY" school concept wanted children to mix and learn about others and those who attended the various Command, Naval, Airforce, Unity and Federal government schools are probably the most un-tribalistic Nigerians today, SO those schools did fulfill a purpose even if relatively insignificant!

Interestingly, by "harvest" time, the chaff IS separated so I think the purpose of this thread (While cogent) ends up defeated - simply because truly, the 2 scorers end up better (relatively) but fall by the wayside while the champions really excel and are the better for the experience

PoliticsRe: Oyo Hasnt Borrowed Money In 2 Years – Ajimobi by nuclearboy(m): 8:19pm On Jun 08, 2013
anonimi: For some time now I have warned my friends who happen to be propaganda proponents and remain blindly loyal supporters of the Association of Conmen in Nigeria, ACN that they NEED to stop LYING and circulating LIES to us. This forum is not made up of their usual crowd of Area boys, agberos, motor park touts, thugs etc.
They obviously cannot and do not want to listen and heed good advice, hence they continue their reckless journey of dis-information.

Last year's budget ALONE of N160 billion contained a provision for over N50 billion as loan:

And this is obvious given what Ajimobi's state receives from the federal allocation which flows essentially from Niger Delta oil monthly.

So the difference between the N110 billion "to be financed directly" and the N2.3 billion monthly allocation is the IGR that is taxes, levies, rates, fines etc from the hands, wallets, pockets, handbags and purses of Oyo state residents and even those outside the state who have aged or other dependents whom they support due to Ajimobi administration's failure to provide socio-economic facilities of

* free & compulsory education for our children
* free basic primary health care
* potable water for all
* cleaning gutters and clearing bush
* etc etc

Initiatives that will generate revenue & create massive employment down the line with an attractive and competitive investment climate.

Logically, the Oyo lawmakers approved the bill for Ajimobi to borrow the N50 billion last year.

It is interesting to note that the TWO loan requests from the governor were approved by the lawmakers after "29-clause amendment to it before a two-thirds majority passed it into law" in October 2012. That was some three months after the infamous trip to London for the "training" of the lawmakers' wives.

Any more mugus from (or with links to) Oyo state you are simply On Your Own -OYO!
Wow - will research this but IF TRUE, then truly something is wrong!

Do you have any other links that support these assertions? Cos I have honestly started (I live in Ibadan currently) going out of my way to praise the governor and was ecstatic to hear he took no loans. If he did take loans, it doesn't remove from his good works but calls his integrity into question.

Please provide any other information you have

Thought you said you had changed!

Anyway, this governor is doing a fantastic job and learning he has avoided loans only makes him more impressive!

We see him regularly drive through the city alone evenings and I think that helps him appreciate the challenges people have. IF (because I haven't been to many) this is the rate of development in other towns in the state, it will be fabulous!
PoliticsRe: Ibadan Gets New Market In Over 30 Years by nuclearboy(m): 11:46am On Jun 08, 2013
Okija juju: Most of you really do have a one track mind..

If I want to argue in line with Gbawe, it's easy.. I would applaud this as a good development. Akwa Ibom Governor built something similar and got rave reviews, which I understood because previously, they all sold under wooden make-shift stalls. Me on the other hand, I'm not impressed. I'm tired of these ridiculously stupid and half assed so called developmental strides that the government keeps feeding us.

Look at it like this... Just because an area previously had only a foot path does not make a graded road the best. Just because Ibadan was a hell hole 3 yrs ago does not mean that they can't get the best. Like I said, let someone get us the budget used in building this market and let's see if this market equates the the sum spent on building this. Maybe then, it would make sense to me. We need to stop building for the now and start building for the future. That's what places like Dubai did that turned what use to be a dessert into one of the worlds top tourism destination today. Stop thinking small. This debate here is not about tribe, political party affiliation or any other such petty nonsense, this is strictly about our collective greater good.
Your call for development is in itself, not a bad thing! However, "what would be the purpose of air-conditioning etc" when there is NO power to drive such? The boreholes in the market are driven by generators which the state graciously pays for to provide at least appreciable neatness. Who would pay for air-conditioning etc?

I think you ought consider the "target" audience before making suggestions!

The market serves its purpose, is neat, well arranged and maintained AND is suitably simple so that upgrading it WHEN POWER AND SUCH LIKE ARE AVAILABLE, will be possible.

At times,it seems President Jonathan is tired of Aso Rock and thus working for his opponents. Declaring for APC might get him a beating in Bayelsa from Dokubo's thugs so he's undermining himself deliberately so he can leave quietly in 2015.

Does it not shame all you "we are better" people that what you call dregs (aboki) has kept quiet and shown you what a sensible non-boastful hardworking person can do?

Or the man-hours you waste coming here to insult people that are NOT your tribe simply by virtue of Biology, could be better used actually making a difference?

This non-stop politicking the Presidency is doing at the detriment of government will cost them more than any other. Way it looks right now, I doubt GEJ will get 15% in half the states in Nigeria if an election is conducted today. And its because governance has been pushed behind for politics
