PoliticsRe: What Is The Political Implication If Gov Ameachi Wins Or Loses The NGF Election? by nuclearboy(m): 11:09am On May 23, 2013
Question is, does power belong to the people in Nigeria?

We see such goats as Dokubo saying his candidate must be elected

We see that old windbag, Ango (rago the ram) Abdullahi saying the north must produce the president

Yet it is these two animals and such as them that our government reveres, respects and listens to, to the detriment of people who just want to think, work, and prosper honestly.

Nobody talks about performance or what Nigerians want or need for us to get ahead

Yet we posit that power belongs to the people?

Abeg! What is obvious it that a day of reckoning will come for everyone
PoliticsRe: Anti-Amaechi Protests In Port Harcourt - Picture by nuclearboy(m): 10:05am On May 23, 2013
You people keep making noise and I wonder if you remember that the world won't end this evening!

Soon (whether 2015 OR 2019 which is unlikely), Jonathan will leave Aso Rock! OBJ that is like a principality, a former general, a truly powerful and vindictive person HAD to leave eventually!

What happens after?

Today, those animals (boko haram) are being hunted. But we forget that victors always write history - once its no longer Jonathan, whoever is there WILL determine who is an enemy of state and who is not! Kill Ameachi if you want! Boil him alive and feed him to dogs if you want! Allow Dokubo to threaten Nigeria all he wants! Pay Ateke to go scatter not only Rivers, but also Lagos State. ONE DAY, it will all end and power will again change hands - it is inevitable!

When the north killed Igbos in 1966 and then under the Abacha's etc, did as they wished, they NEVER believed their turn could ever come. Today, we are witnessing the decimation of the north! But I would expect us that say we are educated and students of time and history to think and realize that day follows night BUT night again then follows day!

When power changes, a lot feeling Jonathan is winning today WILL weep and "form" victim again! Amaechi is NOT the issue - your own tomorrow when an oppressor will say "I HAVE POWER SO I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT" is the issue!

Just saying!
PoliticsRe: Oyo, Wemabod Begin Construction Of 4,000-shop Complex In Ibadan by nuclearboy(m): 9:43am On May 21, 2013
Yes,there were shopping complexes BUT they cot an arm and a leg. Who can afford Agbowo? And Agbowo is sited opposite the University and so targeted at a relatively small community RELATED to the size of Ibadan. Also, Bodija Market is close by where more dynamic shops can be gotten for a fraction of Agbowo's cost.

So, we could insist Ajumobi destroys Bodija and other shops around so that every trader and office MUST rent Agbowo.

Or we could blame the people who built that white elephant project without considering the economic implications of renting a shop in Agbowo and competing against Bodija market traders. And stop blaming the man who is trying to make a bad thing better!

If Ajumobi was building expensive useless shops, I'd lambast him but please come see the open plan simple stuff WHICH will definitely be affordable and useful. Plus also clear the roads.

Past administrations allowed people have shops everywhere and I think this man sat, realized he had to provide cheap sensible alternatives and that's the spirit in which he decided to do what he's doing.

My only grouse to date with him is the beautification wall he's building on ring road by the State high court - seems a bit unreasonable to waste so much for aesthetics which could have been done much cheaper.
PoliticsRe: Oyo, Wemabod Begin Construction Of 4,000-shop Complex In Ibadan by nuclearboy(m): 6:27pm On May 20, 2013
Praise for politicians is almost foreign to me but sincerely, Ajumobi deserves some. Yes, the operators of illegal kiosks are saddened that he cleared them off the streets but within 3 months, I have heard 2 state that they are impressed with what he has turned the streets to. It got so I took out my phone and took some photos in an area (Eleiyele) that I hadn't been to for over a year. The change was amazing.

He drove his black Acura past me today, parked to tell people under the bridge at Molete that they had started encroaching on the road again! He was driving himself, with 2 mobile policemen in the car with him.

People were cheering on the road and it was incongruous - people cheering a man who has been bulldozing shops off the roads, is NOT what you expect especially from Ibadan people who are known to oppose everything under the sun. That alone gives an idea of how at least "some" residents see him.

He likely will be Oyo State's first 2 term governor
PoliticsRe: 24-hr Curfew Imposed On Parts Of Maiduguri by nuclearboy(m): 12:51am On May 19, 2013
Let us assume GEJ wins 2015 (though I start to doubt he will). What of 2019 when power MUST change hands?

Then Dokubo and co make noise or MASSOB complains and the President at that time, then imposes a 24 hour curfew with house to house search to locate all illegal weapons - how would the people here, who are happy and even stating they will report scared people so the JTF will come wipe out, feel? Because this action is setting a precedent, whether we like it or not!

The mop up operation the JTF is doing is good but a 24 hour curfew is too much. Why not surround, then sweep through very fast so that areas once searched, are freed from military occupation and the innocent people can go get food and do some work; at least during the sweep, the guilty (with weapons etc) would have been found. For such guilty, don't waste federal funds feeding them in prison - just execute them.

We are setting precedents and tomorrow will ask us what we did today
PoliticsRe: IGBOS: Why PDP Will Never Nominate An Igbo Man For President by nuclearboy(m): 3:50pm On May 18, 2013
aurenflani: The only pdp candidate that would have honored this claim and do it is Atiku.
But "Rotation" has been cancelled so for the next 300 years, it will be "count your delegates".

Here's what breaking the killer party's agreement caused but of course,in the euphoria of winning, people forgot there is still the future and that tomorrow will remind them they said NO to power rotation today.

This PDP will never give the East presidency - the constitution gives the north the delegates and thus the power. APC will sooner offer it. But APC is hated by same SE

sexkillz: We want to eliminate such insults henceforth. The sitting president will not be there forever and we can spare the next one future insults by stopping now. We can all agree that insulting the president fans the flames of bigotry.
If you guarantee Buhari will NOT be insulted henceforth, fine! Because while I won't retort no matter what, it is senseless to eliminate just one person. But then, what of when such as Dokubo calls Tam David-West a bastard, would you see him as fair game for such as me who respects the Professor?

Or as inn my earlier example, when someone says everyone is afraid of his tribe because they are "better"? Do you realise words like "better" are ONLY used in comparison? If a Mercedes is better than a BMW, it means the BMW is "worse". So, BMW then starts to state its own POV and why u "may" be better in this but it is better in that. So its motive - you HAVE to do something about those who start off these things and then weep and gnash teeth when the other side retorts, WHETHER they are Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa/Fulani.

Dude, you have your work cut out for you! However, public figures? I don't see how they can avoid ridicule

MODIFIED: Insulting Buhari or Tinubu ALSO fans bigotry - Please remain fair and balanced!
PoliticsRe: Nairaland Now A Pro-jonathan Forum? by nuclearboy(m): 2:38pm On May 18, 2013
NL flows with the tide. The state of emergency declaration has boosted the President's rep and so most threads praise him. This is good and there is no reason to complain. He did well and will be praised for it.

What will be bad is if his ratings drop tomorrow and sincerenigerian's group start screaming that everyone hates the President cos they are def NOT crying now! If he messes up, he'll get his medicine, no matter how bitter
PoliticsRe: Eliminating Bigotry From The Politics Section. by nuclearboy(m): 2:29pm On May 18, 2013
Everyone has their own idea of what bigotry is and each ought be respected.

However, a LIVING POLITICAL FIGURE asked for it when he came out to enter the public eye.

I dare anybody to show where I have ever used derogatory words to describe Jonathan, Buhari, Ojukwu, Tinubu or Ribadu (examples of public figures). Yet I see NO reason to exclude any or all of them from public ridicule because they are somebody's father or sit in a chair! THEY ASKED FOR IT and if Obama is being called the Anti-Christ by some of his people, anyone that goes into the public realm cannot expect to be shielded. Else got back to your village and become a traditional chief nobody knows. The names Tinubu, buharam, retardeen etc are symptoms of sticking your head out to become a leader - Mandela went to prison simply because he refused to sit in his father's house!

Interestingly, I just learnt there is a difference between Igbo and Ibo very recently on NL - I apologize for any past usage of the word.

The only way the tribal thing can be solved is banning every single use or insinuation of these things. Even then, there are many ways to give injury. A good example is the thread where someone said the eastern budget had surpassed the federations budget. It was not only false but also very insulting to anyone from anywhere outside the east. When a rebuttal came, it became war. Yet who started it?
PoliticsRe: Police, SSS May Withdraw Amaechi's Security Aides by nuclearboy(m): 6:29am On May 17, 2013
shocked shocked shocked

1. Withdraw Security aides of an ELECTED Governor - unconstitutional, petty, self-serving
2. Set free 18 Robbery and Kidnap kingpins - criminal, self-defeating
3. Planned assassination of a governor? huh - impossible, in fact impossicant.

If the above happens, it will truly signal that this country has gone insane. I doubt the President will do such. However, that people are even speculating such knowing that only that office can withdraw such, is enough of a travesty.

If such is done, then it means if someone doesn't like him, they too have right to attempt evil.

Why is everything partisan/ethnic and religious with you people? Yet you believe you are better than boko haram
PoliticsRe: ACN Commits Political Suicide by nuclearboy(m): 10:06pm On May 16, 2013
I sincerely like the SOE, BUT wish he didn't announce it - just move the big guns and the military in as he has done and give them the power to do whatever they need to do.

This way will make a mockery as now BH will, if they have any brains, just move into different theaters/states and you have given the northern elders another opportunity to scream if you don't announce SOEs everywhere.

Announcing it has politicized it

Look at PDP where the governors are openly fighting the President and calling him a turncoat, requesting Tukur be kicked out, a sitting governor is claiming he may be assassinated and one has No choice but to ask - ARE YOU FRICKING SERIOUS LAUGHING AT OTHERS because they simply are not saying the same thing?

ARE YOU SERIOUS?

Sorry but what did you think Boko Haram wants if not outright confusion in the society and to turn us all against each other? And who's legacy will suffer if not the Presidents?

Way I see it, he just widened the theatre of war on their behalf
PoliticsRe: Is State Of Emergency The Best Option For Boko-Haram? by nuclearboy(m): 10:00pm On May 14, 2013
Sorry but this is NOT a good move

I expected an INFORMAL STATE OF EMERGENCY - move in the big guns (if you want the entire Army, Navy and Air Force) all you want but don't make it official. Do NOT announce it.

What would that have cost? But ACN/CPC and the idiotic Northern Elders Forum said NO, so he had to 'prove himself", right?

NOW, all Boko Haram has to do is go someplace else and attack twice and everyone will scream "state of emergency" until those who hate him start to mock him with that as well. And if the boko haramists have any brains, that's what they will do. Just make random attacks in Rivers, Lagos and Abuja and effectively, Nigeria is an urban jungle, thanks to a good decision being implemented badly.

And if he backs down now or later from declaring states of emergencies all over, again the ridicule starts!

As I see it, this will end with the entire country becoming like as in Israel, in a permanent State of emergency. And only BH will laugh because you just made them bigger

PoliticsRe: State Of Emergency Declared In Borno, Yobe and Adamawa by nuclearboy(m): 9:16pm On May 14, 2013
While this is good news on the surface, I fear it will force the BH animals to move to other areas. This will in turn trigger wider SOEs and gradually, the entire country may be turned into a theatre of urban warfare.

Being Yoruba myself, many here will feel this is opposition noise but God knows I wish the success and peace of Nigeria no matter who leads. I would have suggested he did the same thing but without declaring SOE i.e. move as much power as you feel is needed into those places and make those evil haramists feel what federal power can be like without making it official and thus forcing them (as is the case now) to go back to the drawing tables (we all know they DARE NOT face the full weight of the Army). If they now start moving into other states, he will be forced to play their game and follow them around, declaring states of emergency all over till people start mocking him in that regard.

People hate OBJ (we SW most of all) but he understood many of these things more - I dont blame GEJ anyway, cos he wasn't trained in such. However his defense advisers should be tied to drums and whipped cos this allows BH dictate the theatre of war as they desire

Obinnau: personally I don't want/need nigeria to break up, I will rather vote for a more competent hand to steer the affairs of our beloved country Naija. If it comes to Dokubo's statement, let me categorically state that he is a He-goat, how can somebody see that his country is falling apart and yet still want to help it plunge to its lowest ebb? Am not a northerner but I believe its the northern turn to rule cos agreement is agreement. One problem our people have in general is ETHNICITY!!!!!!, believe me if we put personal sentiments aside our country will be truely the giant of Africa. Am open to suggestions and opinions though.
Thank you, God bless you!

PoliticsRe: 2015 Election: Will You For GEJ by nuclearboy(m): 10:26am On May 14, 2013
The real question NOW should be do you want Nigeria to break? Cos Dokubo says he'll destroy Nigeria if GEJ doesn't win! Seems people believe him!

So if you want Nigeria to break, you should vote against GEJ (if pdp puts him up)

I really want to see if people truly believe their own lies or if its just bluff!

If war starts today with GEJ as president, the Ijaw will be supported by federal might and the world!

If a Northerner wins 2015 DEMOCRATICALLY, those same forces will align against the Ijaw!

Dokubo's mouth leaks today only because he understands that! After 2015, if the Ijaw misbehave under a northern president, he too will have the capacity to wield federal might (just as GEJ felt free to wield it in Baga and OBJ in Odi). What's sad is that the noisemakers will stop production for a month or two but may end up destroying their nation of people! Sensible people think of the future when brandishing sabres and making noise!

Dokubo could only have said his last incarceration reduced oil output under GEJ! When GEJ leaves, let's see if he will be able to talk again!

bloggernaija: ADVISE JONATHAN NOT TO GET IN TOO DEEP O.
See it as you want ;opposition politics or advise but there is wisdom in those words.a yoruba proverb says "a pig which shits in his own house will surely lie on it". Na them they destroy them land. Just like oil bunkerers, they will suffer the consequences.sebi they wan be like Afghanistan .
A state of emergency would be seen as a cover for tribal domination.that is how the common illiterate man on the street will see it.the federal government has the responsibility /tools for security and that is what GEJ should concentrate on. Removing the last link between the mostly illiterate citizens of those state who can be easily manipulated and the government will simply mean that jonathan has taken full ownership of the crises. Any bad road, school with leaking roof, lead poisoning etc will be seen as a southern conspiracy to destroy the north or islam( na so them dey tell em for Afghanistan,Somalia and Pakistan ).Not to mention that it can lead to a full scale mass revolt and could lead to soldiers turning their guns against one another.
GEJ has had a state of emergency on his hand for 2 years now.there is no need to declare anything. If he want to declare one, where he needs a state of emergency is his security appointments .his service chiefs are largely incompetent.
A word is enough for the wise. Do not get drawn into the boko haram crisis. Plateau state was simply a political/tribal crisis. Exactly why obasanjo was able to use a political solution via SOE.
He ignored the crazy political sharia zamfara governor and crap coming from that part of the country.
This one is a religious fundermentalist crisis ,political crisis under the guise of religious crisis and a tribal crisis rolled into one.he should concentrate on destroy the command and control structure of boko haram with emphasis on intelligence . Can anybody tell me why we do not have surveillance drones yet.
The northerners are desperate for power to return to them because the boko haramites are gradually overthrowing the established feudal order with them at the top . It is only via power at the centre that they can rally northern pride/masses and using federal might to prevent this from happening. Exactly why most of them are afraid to even criticise boko haram. The northern leaders are nothing without the centre.
You can see it as partisan, you can see it as an advise. However ,this is my advise. Tell jonathan not to get involved in a fight that is difficult to understand. Just contain it,win hearts and minds and perform in places that are peaceful.
Thread softly o
Why do you bother? Please let a state of emergency be declared since they believe it is political! Finally, people will learn that those governors have not just been sitting and watching when they travel out for a holiday and the feds get responsibility for day to day running!

Let me put some knowledge and facts into your head

60% of the revenues from oil go to foreign oil coys
30% of the remaining 40% goes to foreigner contractor.
15% ...........................40% ............. Oil producing regions derivation
5% goes to powerful Niger delta gangsters ,politician and militant thru NDDC .
The remaining 55% is shared by the feds and states.most which is stolen , if I may ask

Now 2 points I want to make here.
Slave mentality
At least 70% of the oil revenues is enjoyed by Oyinbo people.
The remaining 30% is what foolish blackmen are fighting over.
Okay 15% derivation + NDDC is not enough . But what are they doing with the money they already have.akpabio and amaechi are living proof that it is more than enough to get thing moving while you wait for 100% derivation(not my business abi).
The Niger delta controls the centre at this moment.why is he not developing the place ?

Bad belle ,selfishness,tribalism
Nobody can fail to notice that apart from obj, every president and prime minister has been clannish and tribal.look at their appointments and distribution of project.

Do not be surprised if Lagos remains the regional headquarters of multinational firms including oil firm even if nigeria is divided.it is not by oil.eko Atlantic and brains dictate so.

My big take is that all these noisemakers were nowhere when the Yorubas around the world stood behind this president when Turai was misbehaving and abusing the constitution ..thank God for YouTube . I make bold to say that the Yorubas almost single handledly took the cause of this president to the world.from wole Soyinka , tunde Bakare to protester on the streets of London .even the likes of tinubu and fashola pitched in.

Awolowo
Edo and delta were places controlled by AG.Delta state is stuck in time .edo state has recently woken up from its slumber. However you cannot deny that the two states are the most educated and successful people from the Niger delta with professionals around the world. A legacy of awolowo's education policy.schools were setup anywhere .even under trees all over the western region.
Most of the forest reserve created by awo has been destroyed. Sapele used to be a major timber exporter and commercial city. It is also stuck in time .
Thank you Sir! You are the type of posters NL needs. While I wont engage on what Awolowo did or didnt do, what I think we should look at is what is that fat windbag dokubo and the rest (Tompolo etc) doing with all the Billions they have been paid.

Is even 100 Million not enough to make a difference? Yet where are their houses? Is it not in Abuja, Dubai etc that these morons are buying homes? Look at what Bayelsa has gotten from oil yet WHICH OTHER STATE IN NIGERIA has had ALL ITS GOVERNORS indicted for stealing state funds? We all know about "Mr Mrs" Alams who knows the art of makeup better than he knows the art of honor. Or who here didn't hear about Madam GEJ's milions of Dollars? And look again at Sylva who was just arrested, NOT BECAUSE he stole, but seemingly because there was a falling out!

Why dont they develop the Niger-Delta? Why not build the houses you are fighting to buy in Abuja, in your own place and give your youths jobs whist doing so? Why not take a fraction of the bilions and use to build huge farms for poultry etc? 10 million will still dig industrial boreholes, wont it? How many have these idiots dug that the only tune they know to play is war, aboki, our "oyel", etc

As a matter of fact the north might not entertain campaign from anyone who is not a northerner, making it difficult for people to campaign there. Also forcing inec staff if they are not beheaded to register under aged voters. They might even kill anyone found voting a non northerner.

Now to the best of their knowledge they have won the election.

Now once they start doing that other regions might vote a non northerner.

If the result is declared and the north looses, they will become violent as usual, because they are sure they won. The intimidated everyone in the north including inec staff into voting for the north.

If the north wins, the other parts especially the SS will refuse the result because they know what the northerners did. Secondly the northern candidate might focus their campaign in the north and SW as usual and expect to win.

Now incase it happens in this way, I am checking whose action will affect nigeria more.

That is why it will be good to have other parties and candidates besides pdp and apc.
