I at least can say NL has changed my mind about many issues, religious and otherwise, and broadened my horizons. I thank God for that. Since you have eisegised the above for us, please show from scripture that there were just those seven churches AS PHYSICAL churches rather than models of the seven types of churches?

What I mean is simple - each of the seven "churches" had a description - Ephesus was the "church" that forsook her first love. Smyrna was the one that had "afflictions and poverty, yet was rich", etc etc etc. This shows they are Models for the seven types of churches that will exist through the ages. Or okay, lets count. We know there were churches in Rome, Corinth, Galatia, Ephesia, Philippia, Colosse, Thessalonica, Philemon and of course, there was the Hebrew church. Were those the only churches? BTW, there are 9 (NINE) of those I just listed. And there were actually more! Yet only 7 in revelations.

Now, I know you never accept error so you will find a lie somewhere between Jesus wrote only to 7 physical churches to "revelation knowledge showed you something special" about the matter. Truth is that the 7 churches of Revelation are simply models for the ages. Since they were not physical churches, they could not have a physical pastor, ergo those angels were not "pastors".

Of course, and as pointed out above, you fall somewhere between Laodicea and Sardis. I would say Laodicea but know a few in you are still alive in Christ.

Let us clarify this "insult" matter.

You say "I should not insult you". Fine, I will not. But what is an insult? If I see a blind person and say "that guy is blind", is it a lie? OR is it an insult because the person prefers not to hear the truth? Friend, it is only when I call a sighted man "blind" that I insult him.

But when a man pretends to be blind so he can twist truth (implying I cannot see through such pretence), that is now an insult and totally unfair. It is a major insult to his audience's intelligence. ^^^ Any Christian who asks God for direction as to what to do will be told to "preach". That is God's business and He wants all His children involved just as Christ showed. But that does not mean all such who prayed to ask Him must become "pastors" - lack of understanding Jesus meant Mark 16:17 is their problem. It is the ones not called that decided to make a living from it that are our problem in Christianity today because they come in falsely, have a "semblance" of "effects" and since what they are looking for is success and an empire, they turn the Gospel into a business aimed at "success" and "empire building". Because people have itching ears, such readily find acolytes.

They should go find work to do. Funnily, we hear some are artistic - if they truly were, would they require a "scam" that means perverting God's Word to eat? Suprised this thread lasted this long. Jesus answered the question Himself when He told us a man has to be born again.

When you are born (naturally), society expects and sees you resemble/take-after/follow and and named after your natural father. This father God says you must honor. This father God says can bless you. This father, in fact is the only one that God ties a commandment to. That commandment solves the problem addressed here for it gives to your father "right" over you - to bless or otherwise!

When you are born "again" and thus of the Spirit, I'd expect that what any right thinking person would understand is that you follow/resemble/take-after your "spiritual" Father. He you honor. And He is the only one who can bless you, not any wannabe "surrogate". Jesus/God made it clear that He is Jealous when He said "And do not call ANYONE on earth your father, for you have ONE father and He is in Heaven" Matt 23:9.

This would suggest that no "human" (pastor, elder, whatever) can play the role of your true "Father" to bless you and that furthermore, adopting a "strange" father is not something that God wants by any means for those that are His. NOBODY - remember Jesus went so far as to compare the tradition of such with the Pharisees!

So its just those two personages then - Natural AND Spiritual Father. Daddy/Mummy AND the Almighty. when you make another man your "father" and give him right to "bless" you, you are out on your own, no matter how sincere you are seeing as Christ forbade it Himself.

Of course, you have a right to deny truth and God and choose a suitably impressive earthly "representative" for Him against His wishes. That seems to be the "fashion" these days. Its your denial of God, your fall and your choice!

OP is actually right if practitioner of religion is not wary. I actually believe more people than know it are guilty of his stated accusation. Let us remember that it is written false prophets and christs will arise that will almost turn away EVEN the very elect. For this to happen, the battle must be from WITHIN and must so closely resemble truth that it passes unnoticed by most. The way and manner many "practice religion" today suggests they worship something aside the Almighty.

Babaearly, do you know how "esu" is described in yoruba mythology? He is the wall we stone (the accused in all situations). And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward. "Matt 10 :40 - 42.

Basically then and following your logic, "you" is also a "calling since it is used exactly as prophet is used. And "righteous-man" is also a "calling"?   

Using reason, all of that taken together shows He's talking about those He sends out. But don't believe me. Lets ask together - who is a "prophet of God"? Is it chris oyakilome? Why don't we ask God Himself by going to His word for enlightenment!  As the Word says, "thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, ,  , "

Rev 19:10 answers most all you should know about the issue. It tells us what prophecy is, who/what a prophet is and how to know a true prophet. It says

"And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

1. Prophecy is "testifying of Jesus - also called worshipping God"
2. A prophet is "one who testifies of Jesus - worshipping God"
3. A true prophet is "one who gives all Glory to God, sees you as his equal (brethren) and tells you the truth"

A heavenly being in "full Glory" said this and to someone your chris can never hope to match - the Apostle John. Yet he did not say anything about superiority or prophethood, just "fellowservant" and "brethren"! Outside of this general definition, there exists a more supernatural based manifestation of "prophecy" which is NOT a sign of anything. IT MEANS NOTHING IN THE FINAL ANALYSIS! As Christ said, many will come at the end and say to Him " hey, but I did great things in your name etc etc etc". And He will do what - tell them to go to everlasting perdition. In effect, claims mean NOTHING. It is truth (God's way) that matters.

So dude, it is not chris yaks that is a prophet but ANYONE who testifies of Christ. And claims mean nothing before God. Its the Bible that says so, not me!  I realise you'll need more teaching, so I'm here.

Anyway, I am starting to learn that conversations on NL end before they start - reality here is abstract theories bandied about with the most well thought out receiving resounding applause, whether true or not.

Something you mentioned on that thread stands out - the "motives" (was that how you put it?) of those involved in the WOF movement! Since you gleaned that there exists a problem with the foundation, why are you sweating that the building is shaky? These people go past the bounds of reason. I have stated here I believe in "speaking in tongues". I believe in "miracles". I believe in "faith". But the definitions of these are what differs. Let me give an example

Whist the Bible defines faith easily understood by Hebrews 11 as belief, trust, obedience, sacrifice, holy fear; WOF tells us faith is "confession" and issues from what you say. In effect, I am to leave the Word of my God and follow "norman vincent peales" "the power of positive thinking", right? And not just that, but I must accept and teach that as superior to the Word of God because that teaching is "couched" in holy sounding words and poured out from pulpits.

You choose your reality, DS, and yours is abstraction but you find sense in it. I have mine and WOF stands against it, employing the insidiousness of "extra" and "substitutitory" doctrines, all the "germane issues" notwithstanding.
