Car Talk / Re: When An Engine "Knocks" - These Are Some Likely Causes by Nuezha(m): 7:20am On Mar 25, 2017
To prevent ENGINE KNOCK, always look at your dash board for unusually lit indicator light.

Car Engine knocks very fast when you;

1. Drive at high temperature for too long without knowing. This is caused by leaky radiator, forgetting to return the radiator cover after filling with water or checking, bad water pump, bad radiator fan, etc.

2. Drive at high speed with very low or near-empty oil level.

3. Drive with bad oil pump.

Business / Re: What Is A Good SALARY In Nigeria. by Nuezha(m): 1:24pm On Feb 25, 2017
No matter the amount, if your rent is more than 35% of your annual salary and transportation is more than 20%, it's not a good salary.

Say:
Monthly salary = 100,000
Annual salary = 1,200,000
Rent; not more than 400,000
Transportation; not more than 240,000

A saving of not less than 20% must be guaranteed on the total package for you to consider the pay as good pay.

I have a brother friend whose business is to buy wads of dollars for keep and wait for a rise in the value, and then sell in bits. He is among millions who are causing artificial scarcity and forcing the market to operate erratically the way it is right now.
Many unscropulous Nigerians will roll out their hidden dollars before it completely loses its profit and becomes a depreciated currency if the government can sustain it's effort to meet dollar demand of legitimate users.

One or a combination of these factors may be the reason why wives bear children of other men in marriage.

1. Delay in conception. Woman looked elsewhere to double check and it clicked.
2. Old sexual relationship continued into marriage.
3. Office sex, especially between woman and her boss. Very common.
4. Culture. Unbelievable but true. A woman was caught having sex with a so-called brother who usually visited from village. All previous children belonged to him. Reason: the seed must carry their blood.
5. Extra marital affair.
6. Rape. The last thing a victim would want to talk about.
7. Deceit into sex by a trusted person from whom a woman had sought protection or help; priest, etc.
8. Perversion. Wife lusting after handsome, young, rich or strong men.
9. Sexual advance dangerous or consequential if resisted; from lecturer, public figure, etc.
10. Solution to poverty.

There's no reason under heaven that can make evil permissible. Evil is evil!

Hi Nairalanders,

I will appreciate your candid advise on a business decision which I feel you may be of help to provide superior comments to enable me make informed decisions.

I am seriously considering setting up a business with the little money at my disposal. This decision has been a tough one in view of the fact that, I once set up a hair dressing saloon and recharge card/phone shop in the past but the business couldn't survive due poor management by my workers among other reasons.

I know this is not a very good time for importation or international business, however, I would like to start travelling to Dubai to buy jewelleries and sell. Part of what is driving this, is due to the nature of my work which entails meeting top government functionaries on a day to day basis. I want to use the network I have built over the years as my target. This means that I have a good client base considering their status and ability to patronize me. I am on paid employment and therefore do not have time for businesses that require 100% supervision. Based on the foregoing, I want to know how profitable the business is, the intricacies, the best approach to use for such a business and any other advise that can help a sister in this circumstance.

Secondly, following the collapse of my hair dressing saloon, I was strongly advised by friends to try barbing saloon which if run on commission basis will yield income and remain sustainable. But I am afraid to venture into this business because I don't want to loose money again especially, in this hard times.

Nonetheless, I have a strong conviction that gold selling if well coached will help a great deal to increase my financial base over time.

The following are the objectives of this starting a business:
1. to make additional income other than my monthly salary
2. to increase the money at hand rather than leave it in the bank without any attractive margin
3. sustainability
4. profitability

I await your comments, suggestions, opinions etc.

Thank you.
Barbers salon can be cited anywhere and that's an unrivalled advantage. Jewelry business requires grade A security which requires insurance. One burglary and it's all over.

For purporting in your mind to disdain the BIBLE your business will crash without repair

Don't curse him. I once was like him, and i didn't realise that it was the justification of my indulgence and my rational thinking of the unfairness of life that were my driving force. It's difficult to free oneself by oneself from reprobation (Romans 1:28).

Today I'm a believer. I had no preacher preached to me and i had no Bible i read in the secret. I wasn't even a Christian, but a divine encounter changed everything. Problems never brought me to the light of Christ, so don't wish Seun evil.

All he needs is a spiritual encounter. Saul (Apostle Paul) was not only an atheist, he took atheism to the extreme by annihilating Christians (Acts 7:58), but a special encounter changed everything (Acts 9:3).

Seun, my name sake has a tool he's wrongly applying and that's how it should begin sometimes.

On a final note, I always tell people that 'when a man has nothing more to live for he tends to live more responsibly'. Seun is still a young man.

Snakes have the strongest digestive chemicals. If a fully dressed human is swallowed whole, all that he's wearing; metals, beads, rubbers, bones, teeth clothing, shoes and even hairs will be fully digested and passed out as semi solid waste.
