The only thing you can argue is that those working in the petroleum industry earn more on the average. The thing is that it's very easy for a chemical engineer to work as a petroleum engineer because part of the curriculum set by NUC for Chemical Engineering covers petroleum engineering while the same cannot be said for petroleum engineers.
