I want to know about Maintenance, availability of parts and the cheapest, durability. Also the vehicle will be traveling 600km 3 times a year. Please help me

both are solid, pick the Highlander if you already have a big family and she intend to haul a lot of luggage during her travels.

but the RAV4 would fit her, more chic, has good cargo space and good on gas too.

Does the verso engine any peculiar problem, that's 1AZ-FE engine?

none that I know of. but it is also fitted with the 2azfe too.

I did some research myself. Dodge charger is one of the cars used by u.s .a police and they chase down almost every car. If the car is not fast enough to beat a G35,then i don't understand the miracle behind that Nissan engine.

The police Dodge charger isn't your normal stock HEMI, they have some tweak to them and they are only able to catch bad cars because

1. Most cars they chase are no match for those cars, I don't expect your normal Camry, Honda accord, Civic etc to out run a highly modified V8

2. Those chase are not predetermined, you running from the law can't fix variables that can help you win a race like other road users, road conditions etc

3. You are been chased by several cars, no way you can shake them all, it's not Need for speed but real life scenario, any mistake, it's game over no pause button, retry or restart button.

Go back to your thread and do the needful, you were asked for current interior pix and Engine bay pix and you never cared to upload them, interested buyers were just waiting for those to show more Interest.

As long as the W8 Engine is still in good condition you will get a buyer at what price is what am not certain of.

Stock means how the OEM ships it. The Evo X makes 403 HP max stock, the A45s makes 416 HP.

Simple as that. I don't care how fast the Evo X does 0-60, because that depends on other factors other than HP. Like, you know, weight...
The A45s is a luxury performance car. The Evo X is a rally car. Of course the Evo will be much lighter.

The Evo starts at 376hp while the high performance FQ440 is a 440hp rally killer. It is a stock OEM Engine and like I said, mapping is what differentiates them.

The A45s is a trim of the A class. Just like we have different trims of the Lancer Evolution X.

The FQ3xx to 440 of the Lancer have stock Engine, mapping is what the manufacturer did. Just as Benz mapped the m136 to extract 416hp.

You can also explain what you mean by stock and if Benz believe the A45s is that good, then we can meet at rally nah nobody is exempting Benz from coming to rally and getting their ass whooped

Hi Nairalanders, please I need advice/suggestions regarding my car. 2002 volkswagen Passat.

I was using the car in the east before I relocated to lagos hence its been parked for over a year. When I was using it in the east, it always overheat. my mechanic said the water pump needed to be changed. I changed it and the overheating stopped for few months only to start again.

Now I want to fix the overheating issue again so I can bring it over to lagos and my mechanic is saying the problem is gear. That the gear fibre is bad hence the overheating. He said gear will cost around 80k. I am really confused because:

Is the cause of the overheating really gear because my mechanic is inconsistent. I don't want to waste my money.

Can I get a good gear at that price?

Please I need suggestions. I am a separated mum and really constrained financially. I cant afford to waste my hard earned money that's why I need advice from gurus in the house

if it is still the Passat V8 that you put up forsale before, go back to your thread and bump it, it is a collectors item and a rare vehicle people already made you good offers, don't expect anything big because maintenance of the Engine is Paramount to finding a buyer.

You don't want to ill maintain a VW product. Besides the vehicle doesn't command good resale value my uncle sold his Audi equivalent wagon which is what people buy for 180k but yours should be more expensive.

1. Toyota Avensis Verso 2003
2. Mazda 5 2007 or 2008
3. Toyota Picnic 2000

The vehicle will be for family use with occasional long distance travels. The comparison will be in terms of:
1. Durability n reliability
2. Cost and availability of parts. Can I easily get the parts when the need arises irrespective of location?
3. Fuel economy as d vehicle will be used mostly within town.
4. Comfortability especially with children on board

Mazda parts are expensive and can be headache to source. you will be better off with picnic or avensis verso.

The picnic in the market you will come across are like to be factory fitted LHD than the avensis verso which majority are RHD converted

the picnic is cheaper than the avensis verso engine

the avensis is more appealing and looks cool and recent than the picnic. though both have identical interior seating and cargo holding capacity.

the picnic metamorphosized into the avensis verso for a particular model year. what is left is for you to pick and appealing design and pay for it

Ford focus isn't bad. depends on what you feel is appealing to you. The 206 isn't bad and very fuel efficient. I did prefer the 206 to the focus manual to manual.

have been in both but only driven the 206 but looks more modern both interior and exterior than the zx5. though seems the focus is more loaded

Of course i have bad experience for bought a car on nairaland. The first car I own was bought here. Honestly i don't know if the guy used charm to cover my face and that of my mechanic. A week after i bought the car i discovered that the car is not moving no matter how i press the gas.
I called the mechanic the idiot said its a fuel pump.l asked him to get the pump and he did, although the fuel pump work for a moment but later the car wouldn't still move when its hot.And after the car warm up it will started working normally until it get hot again.
When the car want to kill me financially i abandoned it. Bought countless of fuel pump and rewire fed fat from me. After 2 months later i got tokubo from a reliable person. Since i bought the new car i have never fix anything from the car.
