INVECS III is Mitsubishi's proprietary gimmick layered upon the base gearbox. The base gearbox is designed by Jatco; the same company supplies Nissan (majority owner) and a host of other automakers with CVT gearboxes. And I believe you are well aware of the Murano fiasco.

Several class action lawsuits have been filed by consumers in the United States against automakers specifically about their failing CVTs.

The core of the problem had to do with a poorly designed bearing in the belly of the gearbox, which was not properly designed to handle loads above a certain typical magnitude, causing it to fail early. It can't be repaired, only replaced.

And the replacement is expensive, so expensive that Nissan actually lowered the price of CVTs to help lessen the plight of stranded owners, and also opened a temporary customer service mechanism for resolving the issue! A TSB was issued, for certain.

Jatco itself even saw a drop in market valuation, stemming from the market turmoil their transmissions were embroiled in.

They only started to get it right after 2012 model year vehicles. So, vehicles before 2012 using a Jatco supplied CVT are best avoided.

Have you ever wondered why Toyota was noticeably slower to introduce CVTs in its lineups, compared to other automakers? Toyota gets its CVTs from another supplier called Aisin (owned by Toyota itself); the company also supplies several automakers with gearboxes. There have been no controversies over Aisin CVTs.

On power delivery, there's a good reason CVTs are rarely, if ever, paired with V6, or bigger, engines. CVTs are predominantly married to 4-cylinders, while V6 options are sold with "regular" automatic trannies. So, you're right about that.

The Nissan CVT had issues like any new technology but was later improved on, majority of nissan vehicles still have CVT and are in perfect condition no complaints

pick the highlander more recent the limited is close to the GX470 in luxury, it got a bit of swags of its own, better road manners, ample cargo space and not too obnoxious. But remember to change the oil cooler rubber hose feeding the engine to metallic one to avoid failure which leads to oil spillage then engine kaput.

I have always seen the GX470 as a good luxurious vehicle but I think it's too much to be considered as a city car, if you want to intimidate and be know as babaolowo of the street definetely the GX470 puts you in that category. You also get respect from uniform men and nod of modaf4ing approval from the ladies

I'd recommend the V6 engine, rather than the 4-cylinder. The V6 comes with a regular automatic transmission, but the 4 cylinder comes with a CVT, which is known to be problematic (actually problematic).

The Invecs III CVT is not a problematic gear at all in fact it is one of the most reliable CVT in the car industry, the only disadvantaged it has is its power delivery, which only mitsubishi performance car owners complained about (lancers and that their coupe)

There isn't supposed to be much difference depending on what month of the year the 2010 you are buying.

2009 1ZZ 5spd manual or 4spd auto

2010 September 1ZR 6spd manual or 5spd Auto

Changes were grill, tail lights and addition of high trim.

They ate both dope but facelift always looks better. Any one in good condition is OK. Also the dual vvti in the 1ZR leaves room for suspicion.

I can conclude that for any 6 cylinder, it is 3.5L. and it can be any of models 07 to 011.

Also, is 07 camry , 3.5L and 6 Cylinders a good car . if there is any car like that? I am sorry if I'm not making sense. I am a layman here.

yes any 6 cylinder of that bracket year for camry is 3.5L

yes the 07 V6 has a good gear so you are good to go.

Yes if and only if

1. the valve seals in the engine are still in mint condition

2. No sludge on engine because the detergent in synthetic will wash the sludge and block the engine that's the end of such engine.

3. depends on level of wear and tear in that engine and synthetic oil weight.

your budget should cover a w202 1998-2002 benz C class. Though I heard the maf in the higher engine lineup gives headache. probably a c180 and 200 will do fine

camry XV40 tokunbo is sold between 2.4m upwards depending on trim gadgets and year I did say budget between 2.8-3.1 for 09

shape wise I personally don't like the Honda city, it also doesn't age well, it also uses cvt. it's reliability isn't questionable though. it has one funny engine type 4cylinder with 8 plugs. if you like it and within your budget it's a vehicle you can count on.

I personally will recommend the corolla the only bad thing about it is I get jittery when driving it at odd hours and I always drive definsively in it. my hand never leaves the gear lever at night in case they block me in front I am ready to reverse no surprises.

manual needs little maintenance and attention

Automatic needs timely maintenance and attention.

manual gear vehicles are cheaper to buy than automatic of same model and year.

During inspection a novice female driver can tell a faulty manual gear while a hardcore driver may not known when auto is faulty or flaring.

Manual gear are easy to replace or fix when faulty and won't totally render a vehicle grounded. Automatic gear when faulty can ground your car and get you stranded.

Manual gear in lags traffic causes leg cramps known as pajapaja in yoruba, Auto certainly doesn't and when it happens you can improvise with the left leg

Also when you go inspect Toyota and you want to know the year of manufacture go to the windshield side of driver or driver door and you will see the VIN number count to the tenth number you should have a range of 2 to 6 that tells what manufacture year the camry XV30 was produced.
