The Toyota Corolla is known for all round reliability and not a robbers magnet like it's predecessors. The 1.8L 1zzfe engine is a tank with its timing chain laser etched valve guides that engine is well built.

very reliable, fuel efficient, durable and body is well built.

As for the Capella mazda 626 it is rugged too as I can confirm but majorly the wagon type is what I know they use to move load like woods, planks and it is a favorite of the smugglers for smuggling rice, bales of cloths etc.
it has a 1.8L, 2.0 for Europe version both 4 cylinder

The Gbera engine (2.5L V6) is a wicked underrated engine very fast with good acceleration.

I did say your comparism isn't too fair as the mazda is the camrys equal not corolla.

I would say any you choose should be OK as long as it's a good specimen and you take good care of it.

but pick the corolla only for fuel economy, resale value and strong body frame.

I never knew about RX270 till early this morning when you posted about 2.7L RX 350, i always assumed every 4cylinder RX shaped car is a Toyota harrier

The Rx whether 4 or 6 is very luxurious. I think Toyota stopped the harrier badge in the RX300 before they started it again in 2014 upwards again.

Nigerian dealers always remove the harrier badge also the harrier wasn't a stand alone brand it was always with the Rx. you known car manufacturers actually change car names because that particular name means something in another continent/country eg VW polo/rabbit, VW passat/bora, Nissan bluebird/Almera etc

1 I don't modify my post, if I am wrong I am wrong nobody is an island of knowledge the 3 vehicles have same v6 engine type and I stated it there initially. If they weren't so close I would have differentiated them.

2. is there a 4cylinder 2008-2012 RX yes there is in Japan it is called harrier in Australia it is lexus Rx.

there is no crime in driving a 4cylinder Rx it is even luxurious than a Base RX I am just letting the individual know that a 4 cylinder Rx by default is converted and from Asia or Europe.

it's not misleading though. there are threads on nairaland about RX330 and RX350 which are actually converted Toyota harrier debadged and stamped with the corresponding lexus badge to fool unsuspecting buyers.

Some harrier have a 3.0L 1mzfe that looks like the 3.3L 3mzfe engine. it was trashed on cartalk sometime ago.

A: nobody was born with knowledge we all attained and gained during our life time. There are car knowledge and repair procedures online, let him read up there first and as he uses the car he can learn more and be a pro. There is always a first time to everything how you manage it is what counts.

you keep spamming this thread I have answered you that the 2009 rav4 and 2010 rav4 has no difference. some were produced in 2009 while some batch were produced in 2010 interior, exterior, engine, parts, trim etc are the same.

The rav 4 has a 2.5L 4 cylinder engine, the highlander has a 2.7L 4 cylinder engine while the RX350 has a 2.7L 4cylinder engine.
All three share the same 3.5L 2GR-FE V6 engine.

The Highlander and RX350 are same vehicle they share almost everything except shape. same 4cylinder and V6 engine. But the lexus is a very luxurious highlander while the highlander is a bigger ride with 3rd row seating.
The 4cylinder lexus is rare most you will find are Toyota harrier mostly converted driving position this is due to the fact that 4cylinder rx never made it to the US.

The Rav4 too has a spec that can accommodate 3rd row seating.

fuel economy
rav4 due to its engine type and size. highlander and Rx are close.

maintenance
Rav4 wins as it's part price and engine are cheap.

durability
Should be same for the V6 AWD of all contenders but the rav4 has an edge in its simplicity build. not too techy.

Resale value
Lexus wins here

since you said you like benz, look for a C-class of year 05-07 which is within your budget. Buy a non kompressor as you are a newbie and leave 4matic due to price of their suspension system.

There is no difference between the 2 the rav 4 got a facelift in 2009 and 2011 so 09 and 010 are same thing nah year of manufacture differentiate them

The ES is a luxurious camry. I would pick the ES in this instance and only pick the camry 4cylinder for fuel economy

Lexus is a great brand. Mercedes is a great brand too. Lexus is more reliable than Mercedes by far, because of "The Toyota Way" that's taken to the limits in the process of building Lexus cars.

That said, please don't compare Lexus to Mercedes. Some people will drive one nonsense C Class and come and start saying "Benz, yen yen yen". Sit in the 2018 E Class and the 2018 GS and tell the story of how much better the E-Klasse is.

Apart from the Daimler-Chrysler era, Mercs are quite a bit ahead of Lexus cars in the same class, although the German company seems to be a tad scatter-brained at the moment.
