Congrats! May God Bless you and your family. |
agabaI23:I no fit laugh ![]() |
Dont worry, we're getting more beautiful. ![]() Now we're just waiting for Nigerian men to add something to the soup. Dem sabi ugly ah ahn.
You ain't never lied especially at the bolded part of your comment. |
harakiri:You just spoke my mind! Many thread starters can't even use the term "some", "many" but rather generalize. I personally hate make up. I feel like my pores are getting all clogged up. @OP Why do you care about what naija girls choose to do with their face? If you don't like their excessive makeup, go date/marry a woman from another part of the world where the women wear no makeup at all. Good luck! |
We thank God for her life. |
becomrich3:You lie! In this part of the world, unless you're making $100,000 annually before taxes, chances are that the wife also has to contribute to paying some of the bills. Now in Naija, it might be a different story but not here in the western world.MaziUche0:Don't deceive yourself please! My sister is married to a man from Abia State. The couple live in naija and she has been the one paying all the bills since they got married 7 years ago and still is. He lied to her when they were dating that he is a business man. I guess he is in the business of being and staying lazy! Also, like I mentioned to becomepoor, in this part of the world (USA), unless you are making really good money, chances are the wife has to work and chip in to pay for some of the bills especially because of all the taxes uncle Sam takes from a paycheck each pay period. Is that not why naija men are in the business of bringing unsuspecting women from back home, have them go to nursing school so that the woman can in turn make good money after she graduates and pay some of the bills? Lastly gentlemen, go and marry from another country please. It is not by force to marry a fellow naija. You can take your pick from the gazillion other women from other nationalities roaming the face of the earth. If some of us are married to men from other cultures, then I am sure you can do the same instead of coming to nairaland to complain. Peace, out! |
@OP Go and marry a toilet cleaner since it is obvious you suffer from some serious low self esteem and inferiority complex. If that is not the case, why the heck are you coming on an online forum to ask if you should marry a woman you "claim" to love? Kindly free the girl so that she can meet someone worthy of her love while you go hook up with a non english speaking illiterate from your village! |
Echidime:She probably is not married to a naija man. Are you people not the same people who suspect your GF/wives of cheating on you or being to whorish once they know what they want in bed? I know naija society and backward cultural mindset all too well. You naija males do not know what you want. Tomorrow, I will see another thread on nairaland from a typical naija male asking whether or not to marry his girlfiend because she seems too experienced in bed and knows what she wants. One can't win with ya'll I tell ya. Feel really sorry for naija women sometimes especially the ones back home who are stuck with with ya'll. ![]() |
kieryn:My thoughts exactly! otilox: ![]() |
@OP When a woman says NO she means NO! All this epistle ain't gonna work! If it was here in the States, you can go to jail for stalking and harrasing a lady and she can even file a restraining order against you but in naija, anything goes I guess ![]() |
double08:I know right? Many never use their brains for nothing ![]() Odunnu:Absolutely hilarious! ![]() Acidosis: ![]() 5p1naz:Na real busted! ![]() @OP Unemployment is a bad thing. Go and get a job and make yourself useful to naija society. Looking for every little opportunity to bash naija women like your mother ain't a naija woman is not going to help your pathetic state! Now be a good boy and run along! ![]() |
Siena:My sentiments exactly! |
zayhal:LOL @OP What is it with you men? Why can't you people reason with your brains for once rather than your anaconda? If you knew you and your wife had much not in common, why did you marry her in the first place? Your marraige is not even 5 years old and already you are lusting after another woman! Shame on you You are the reason why many young women of marraigable age are now marraige phobic. You give marraige a very bad name. Today it's your wife's best friend and tomorrow it will be your secretary or female co-worker at the office. Most of you men lack common self control and your constant hunt for another person's private part will be your greatest downfall in life! Also, don't even blame women for it because you people will still lust even if all women wore hijabs and are covered from head to toe.Go and make your marraige work you potential adulterer! Naijas will not let persin here word when they are single and then after you people get married, you can't stay faithful to save your own life. Stupid bunch of lustful hypocrites! ![]() |
i think some women have such resistance because the original intent of that submission have been skewed by men and many have used it to manipulate, maltreat, abuse, and enslave their women all in the name of "God, said, woman be submissive to your husband" secondly, some women dont understand the whole picture of the that word "submission" in the way God intended it. espcially, in this 21st century where women are striving for self-indepence, self-reliance, gender equality, so the use of the "submission" to these kind of women have become synonymous to be a slave, giving men extra power(which is aganist their self-indepence belifefs). they feel like, submission shouldnt be used in this century because everyone is equal and so should be marriage. "every thing and anything a man can do, surely a woman can do definitely better". women have suffered enough in the hands of men in the past century when they believe women were submissive to their husbands. some people believe in mutual respect. respect me, i respect you etc so no need for "Sir master" those kinds of things so, i think both genders have misinterpreted, misunderstood, misuse and over skewred that word SUBMISSION. God never intended for men to use submissiveness to oppress and suppress their wives neither did he wanted the women to feel that he was chauvinist (as some women have claimed). so, while i cant blame the women wholly or the men wholly either for the misuse of the word. however, one cant help but notice that men intend to use that word only when it favors them. forgetting also, that its God, who said "women be submissive to your husbands" and also said "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her" when a man treats her wife as God instructed i dont think a woman will resist. but in many of the cases, when the woman is submissive she gets nothing in return. many men abuse that word personally, i dont see the problem with submissiveness as long as the man understands Gods intent of it and when its NOT TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT.He gave Women the Power and gave men the Authority. in other-words, men are the HEAD of the family and women are the HEART of the family as the sayings, goes the men wears the trouser in the marriage but women tells them which one to wear. but until, BOTH genders study and understand that word, there will continue to be that resistance.

one thing, i hate about this particular command is that men who never smell church, or open the bible in their whole miserable life are the first to selectively quote this chapter in the whole bible because it suits them i really what Pope Pius said here about this: "The submission of the wife neither ignores nor suppresses the liberty to which her dignity as a human person and her noble functions as wife, mother, and companion give her the full right. It does not oblige her to yield indiscriminately to all the desires of her husband; and his desires may be unreasonable or incompatible with her wifely dignity. It does not mean that she is on a level with persons who in law are called minors. And minors are ordinarily denied the unrestricted exercise of their rights because of their immature judgment and not having enough experience". 1) it does not mean violation of her rights according to her dignity as a human person; 2) it does not mean for her to submit to her husband’s desires blindly, totally, and completely because his desires may be unreasonable and not compatible to his wife’s dignity; 3) it does not mean she is to be treated like minors who are not able to make mature judgment.
You have said it all. I read something similar in a pamphlet that came with my booklet "Daily Bread". It also said that submission as the bible notates does not mean that one person lords over the other. @Poster What many don't understand is that submission comes naturally to a woman when you treat her with love and respect. Is that not why the bible commanded men to love their wife like Christ loved the church? Do most naija men really understand what it means to love another person like Christ loved the church? It means unconditional love. What I see in most Naija marraiges is conditional love. If you love your wife like Christ loves the church, you will not sit there and watch your family members rain abuses on your wife for whatever reason. If you love your wife like Christ loves the church, you will not marry a second wife all because the first wife could not bear you a son or children. If you love your wife like Christ love the church, you will not be running after university girls and committing adultry all over the place putting yourself and your spouse at risk of catching an STD. If you love your wife like Christ loved the church you will not act like a brute showing little love, affection, respect, or consideration for your wife. If you love your wife like Christ loved the church you will not come on an online forum and bad mouth and bash your wife to strangers you probably will never meet in real life rather than going to her and trying to talk things over and sort out your differences. If you love your wife like Christ loves the church you will not come home after a hard days work and just sit down and stretch your legs while your wife who also works full time outside the home and contributes to the bills slaves away in the kitchen. You will get up and help out any little way you can so she does not get burnt out. If you love your wife like Christ loves the church you will learn to show appreciation through words and actions every so often even if its a peck on your wife's cheek followed by the words "Honey appreciate you. Thank you for all you do." That is what motivates women to please you or as you prefer to call it, submit. I have no problem submitting to hubby because the man is too good and takes that command of loving me like Christ loves the church seriously. Unfortunately, from what I have observed, the average naija man can care less. You want submission yet you people are constantly on a bashing tirade of the women. I have never experienced so much HATE for women like I have seen on this forum. What have I not read? "Women are necessary evil", "women cannot be trusted", "should I put my will in my toddler son's name?", and the women bashing threads are endless. With that kind of a mind set, I doubt you will be able to show love to your wife like Christ commanded you to. Most of you naija males convince yourself that it is not a good thing to show love and affection to women because in your little minds, you are convinced that a woman will walk all over you if you do. Women are wired to crave affection like men crave S3X. So if you act like an aggressive jungle monkey towards your wife, where will she find it in her heart to submit to you? Don't you know that loving your wife selflessly as Christ commanded and your wife submitting to you go hand in hand? So here is my stance, the day you males learn to genuinely love your wives unconditionaly like Christ loves the church will be the day you will no longer have to worry about whether a lady will submit to you. You see how the poster Mutter talked fondly of her husband? Well, do you think if her husband treated her like crap and showed her no love, affection or respect she will be come online and speak so fondly of him? I don't think so. Once you people have learnt to treat women with love and respect (something naija society/culture does not seem to encourage), then you can come back and talk about submission. Chikena! |
tyson55:I thought the same thing. She has Whitney Houston's eyes and cheek bone structure. Nice! |
Nkem Owoh is the funniest. Sam Loco is funny too. |
Pafuri:LOL ![]() |
@Poster It's degrading if she does not want you to begin with. Besides, can't you just be friends with her and if there is a compatability, then you can take the friendship to the next level? All this boyfriend/girlfriend from the satrt is the reason why people loose interest in the other person quickly. Learn to get to know someone first and then take it from there. |
@Poster Ok, now what? ![]() |
Thank God this world cup crap is almost over. I am tired of reading about it especially on the homapage of Nairaland. |
Why are people getting their panties wet over her comment? Does she not have the right to choose whom she wants to spend the rest of her life with? I mean, who wants to keep waking up every morning to an apish looking face huh? Abeg free the girl! We all know that most naija men are lacking in the looks department. Come and see good looking black men here in the States. If she does not want to give birth to kids that will look like grimlins in the near future, then she has to be a bit picky about which man she would allow to father her future kids. |
@Poster Nollywood movies are meant for adults and not kids. Can't Naija parents go and buy Barney and friends kiddie tapes for their children? Must one have to teach some Naijas everything? Gosh! |
Echidime:I guess your father did not trust your mother either. Why marry someone you don't trust? Why don't you just become gay since women are so terrible? I will NEVER advise any loved one to marry a naija man including my own kids. You people are horrible and I trully feel sorry for the women stuck in naija and thereby have no other choice but to marry your kind. Thank God I don't live in naija. You people are wicked there and it is no wonder the country can never progress with the kind of mindset you people have. Sad, really sad. |
@Poster Go for deliverance because you gon' need it! ![]() |
vivaladiva:You have spoken well. That's Nigerian men for you! They are very judgemental and sanctimonous when they themselves are not virgins and have slept with everything in skirt! I thank God I don't live in that kinda society anymore. |
saysumtin:@Bolded part Ain't that the truth! |
@Poster There is absolutely nothing wrong with the picture. She was recently made a spokesperson for MUD (Go to bellanaija.com and you can see the info and pictures of the event for yourself) and that is why I am guessing she is there at that particular store. Why are so many Naijas filled with so much envy and hate for their fellow citizen? No wonder the country is stagnant and has refused to move forward in a positive direction while little Ghana is making strides. God don't like ugly nor a nation filled with bad belle folks! Take note poster. Hisssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss! ![]() |

In this part of the world, unless you're making $100,000 annually before taxes, chances are that the wife also has to contribute to paying some of the bills. Now in Naija, it might be a different story but not here in the western world.
