Religion / Re: Are You Afraid Of Death by nyameke: 12:34am On Jul 19, 2012
There is nothing to fear about physical death. Physical death is an illusion because we are all spirits having a human experience. Spirits do not " die". When its time to move on your spirit disengage from your physical body and moves on to other realms until judgement

What you should be afraid of though is spiritual death after judgement because that death is eternal

Brain suffers the same effect as the mind. Car and driver, different
they both suffer same effect And that means therefore that the brain is same as mind?

Dude I put it to you absolutely that they are not the same. Your mind is the real you and your brain which is part of your body is only your physical " vehicle "..

Btw can you explain to me why a person whose brain is flatlining on an EEG can be able to describe in vivid detail what had been happening in the operating theatre after he was clinically dead?

Also tell me if its the same mind/ brain in operation when a person’s brain is unconscious or clinically dead and the person has vivid memories of an out of body experience or a near death experience..

I can walk over that bump without my vehicle. The vehicle and I exist separate from each other.

The mind can not exist outside of the brain. The brain is the mind.
lol this dude here.. what is your I can walk over that bump without my vehicle got to do with the analogy again? Pay attention my friend.

My response was to show you how foolish your alcohol test analogy was as tied to your no brain no mind rhetoric. You can't tell
me just because your brain and mind feels the effect of alcohol it proves your no brain no mind theory. That's just utter nonsense and unintelligent.

I really see you as an honest fellow... The mind and spirit
are two different parts of the same being. The spirit realm is different from the mental realm so also is the physical realm. The different parts of a being reside in different realms.

Most of us are only conscious of the physical realm and self. The brain is the organ by which your mental self influences your physical self, likewise your other selves have other means of influencing one another.

Thanks for the compliment cool..

No they both are the same thing bro. Mind needs substance to exist as. Spirit is the essence of consciousness and the substance of Mind. Spirit is mind, because spirit is intelligent. Both words are synonymous as I said earlier .. Mind and Spirit are one and the same. We all exist as spirit and we all exist as mind.

We are spirits/mind having a human experience that's it.

Btw before I go any further with you I want you to tell me in your view what the spiritual realm and mental realms as you alluded to are . I think you are trapped by the partial viewpoint of what the mind is..

Rubbish. The brain is the mind. No brain, no mind. Simple test- take alcohol and you mind becomes fuzzy because your brain is not ok
man you ignorant man. What is your analogy got to do with the brain and mind being separate?

Let's say your mind is you and your brain is your vehicle. Are you telling me that if you were driving and your vehicle goes over a bump on the street, you and the vehicle won't fill the effect of the bump at the same time? And if you do your conclusion would be " no vehicle ", no you"? What? My friend go back and think again

Nothing spiritual about the mind. Just a description of the thinking aspect of the brain. No brain, no mind.
your mind is your spirit my friend.
Son we only differentiate between the mind and spirit with the word..the word pierces into the dividing asunder between soul and spirit, bone and marrow. We use language to separate inseparable things in order to describe them. The soul is made of spirit and the bone is made of marrow. The mind is spirit and the bone is marrow.

2. Your mind and brain are two different things and not the same. physical brain is not the mind. The physical brain dies when the physical body dies, but the mind survives physical death. Your physical brain is more like a receiver that's it..

A phobia is not spiritual. What next? Somneone who has a phobia of small spaces (claustrophobia) is haunted by the boogeyman who lives in small spaces like closets and under the bed?
Not trying to jump into you and buzugee argument but you have to know that a phobia is of the mind and all things are of the mind.. Mind is spirit and spirit is mind. They are all one and the same..So in essence one can say a phobia is spiritual/mind.. And thus your phobia is spiritual. Ain't got nothing to do with religion though

What makes you really afraid of the dark. What feelings and thoughts comes to your mind when you're in a dark place.

Mine used to be sensing a presence around me and I used to hate that.

Because all the catholic bla bla reasons you gave are nothing but excuses son..

Your situation is quite common actually.. I used to also have fear of the dark but those days are behind me now..

It's all in your head son..Our life and realities are run by our subconcious mind and the truth is that even though you have consciously decided not to believe in spirits, ghost stories, the boogeman and other weird stories that you've been told since you was a kid, You have somehow failed to convince your subconcious mind to dissolve those beliefs..

You wont get rid of your phobia even if you repeat to yourself a millions times " I'm not afraid of the dark", if you can't convince your heart or subconcious mind of it..
Religion / Re: If Satan Goes To God For Forgiveness Do U Think God Wil Forgive Him? by nyameke: 11:14pm On Jul 17, 2012
Good question but that would be impossible because Satan just like all fallen angels cannot be saved. Why because
1. Jesus died as a human with a common soul base of the entire human race from the Adam. Angels were created individually

2. Angels possess greater knowledge and awareness and exists in non linear time. Their decisions based on an act of will is therefore not influenced by time like us humans.. Once they make a choice it will last till the end of time. Therefore you can bet that they do not anyhow make choices, they make choices based on the full awareness needed to make it out on their freewill. Their choices are definite and transcends time and space..

That is why Salvation is not necessary to be made available to Satan and fallen angels anyway because they would never accept it even until the end of time. They already made their choice to disregard the Most high.. And because their decisions transcends time even if they manifest in this realm and become humans like us and live in linear time they would still not believe in God or the salvation story. To them they are their own god and answers to none other but themselves..

Religion / Re: Beware Of Women by nyameke: 5:05pm On Jul 13, 2012
tobechi20: Women have made men go against their wish.

ADAM
The first man on earth.
When God commanded him not to eat d forbiden fruit, he obeyed. He feared God . Until the woman gave him d fruit. Some how, he didnt object. He didnt say NO. He didnt ask question. He ate the fruit. He chose to displease God rather than the Woman.
He brought a curse to mankind.

SAMSON
The strongest man . He was told never to reveal his strenght secret to any body.He obeyed. He told no Man Until a woman came, he tried to resist the woman but finally yielded. The woman finally overpowered the man. Samson lost his strenght.HE ended up a blind man.

David

God had a special love for him. The man after God heart..
A naked woman taking her bath caused him dearly. He disobeyed God, tried covering up and commited another sin.He ended up bringing punishment to his family.

Solomon
wisest man on earth...built the temple,..greatest Judge.
Later started following women....disobeyd God...worship idols.,

CONCLUSION
A WOMEN IS MORE POWERFUL THAN THE STRONGEST AND WISEST MAN...
SHE CAN MAKE A MAN GO AGAINST HIS/GOD'S WILL

ILLUSTRATION

Abacha was rumoured to be killed by a woman... Tiger woods was world number one until numerous s....x scandal. Pastor chris integrity as a pastor is threatend by his mariage to a divorcee and sudbsequent divorce
..,may be thats why catholic priest dön't get married.

Recomendation

do you want to achieve /be the best?
do you want to make money/acquire wealth?

do you want to serve God and obey his commandment?

do you want to make heaven?

BEWARE OF WOMEN
Another stupid and ignorant post..
With that kind of thinking you should rather BEware OF YOURSELF. Women are not the problem you are.. Only a weak and unintelligent mind will think that.

Stop shifting blame and start taking responsibility for your actions might help you in life.. Responsibility is power son.

did Eve force Adam to eat the fruit? Adam had a choice and he made the wrong choice so why blame the woman..

Delafruita: there's no disputing the fact that nigerians love, cherish, adore God.the christians however, are in a class of their own.its no secret that most christians resign themselves to faith and believe "all things work together to them that love god and are called according to its purpose".they also believe "in everything, give thanks unto the lord".this attitude accounts for why christians believe they have no business in politics and believe their "pastors" dont need to criticize the leaders.even the ones that choose to be active like tunde bakare meet condemnation from christians.

for the purpose of this thread,i'd list a few popular "testimonies" by christians in church.
1. "brethren praiseeeeeeeeeeee the lord.after 3 years of fasting and prayer,i have finally gotten admission to univesity/polytechnic/college of education/technical school etc".the pastor then comes up and screams loudly "brethren praise ye the lord.the lord is good.brethren every enemy sitting on your admisiion, they shall die for your sake".congregation will scream amen.

the pastor, testifier and congregation out of their ignorance dont realise the fact that there are no invisible enemies "sitting" on any admission.if nigeria were in a better state, with good educational system in which every eligible candidates gains an admission into their preferred departmennt, would there be a need to go into marathon prayer and fasting talkless of testifying?
if our governemt was functional and the economy in good state which could enable the testifier afford a private university, would he/she be testifying for gaining admission into zoology despite applying for medicine?

these christians need to be told that their ridiculous stance of "we are not of this world" is grossly annoying.they need to speak out and expect same from their pastors.a pastor that doesnt speak out against government injustice doesnt want the progress of his "sheep" and any christian who remains in such a church is an ignoramus
. Your title I must say is very misleading ,senseless and stupid..

First of all your arguments do not support your title..All the examples and instances you gave are because the people all involved are IGNORANTS including you or you wouldnt come up with that title..

God will never and ever in a million eons be the problem of nigerians or anyone.. The only problem and disease Is IGNORANCE my friend.

buzugee: let me give a good analogy of the story of the canaanite woman.
so lets say i am a professor of mathematics in obafemi awolowo university and i teach only final year maths 505 and i am hurrying for a lecture and i have only 10 minutes before i get to my lecture. and then a freshman comes up to me saying he wants me to help him solve a maths 101 problem. my response will be 'i am not here to teach freshmen so i cannot help you. i only teach 5th year students'

however if he is insistent and has so much faith in my knowledge, as my reputation precedes me on campus, and he says ' well if you dont teach me this, then i have no one else to go to because i hear you are the best in the field'

then i may say 'okayyyyyyyyy i guess i can give you 5 minutes of my time '
lol funny analogy but true.. That whole passage was about faith.. Jesus said he came for the lost sheep. In other words those lost and without faith in the Lord..

A child is innocent and helpless and obviously can't fend for himself. A dog is a natural hunter and can fend for himself. So why would any sane person give a child's food to the dog? ..
Jesus is basically telling the woman that what she seeks she already has. Faith is what brought her to jesus so that her daughter would be healed. If she didn't believe that by seeking the help of jesus her daughter would be healed she wouldn't have left her ailing daughter and sought the help of jesus. Now that's faith.

That's why her response was fascinating and humbling at the same time..The woman response was that DOGS do eat the crumbs at the masters table sometimes. The master here is jesus. She is basically saying that when your faith is not up to that task you have to seek the help of one with more faith and who better else than the master himself thealpha and omega and king of kings.. And thus the Lord replied woman you have great faith and as such your request have been granted ..

Everything in this universe is based on faith or belief. Jesus said that if you have faith and do not doubt and tell a mountain to move to the sea it will.. One thing ignorant Christians have to realise is that jesus didn't only come to teach us about salvation but a whole lot of other things and this passage was one example.. With faith you can heal yourself and others and do the "impossible" and people will term it miraculous ..
Religion / Re: Is Jesus A Prophet For His People Or Messiah For The World? by nyameke: 1:20pm On Jul 08, 2012
gbadexy: There are some verses from the Bible which gave the suggestion that Jesus may have been a prophet to the jews like the prophets before him rather than messiah for the world.

Muslims strive to please God always and believe
Jesus is God's messenger of good news to his
people. And here is a confirmation.
Matthew 15:22-28
And behold, a woman of Cannan came out of
the same coasts and cried unto him saying
'Have mercy on me O Lord, thou son of David:
my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
But he answered her not a word. And his
disciples came and besought him saying 'Send
her away! For she crieth after us'. But he
answered and said, ' I am not sent but unto the
lost sheep of the house. Of Isreal'!
Then came she and worshiped him, saying 'Lord
help me' But he ansswered and said ' It is not
meet to take the children's bread and cast it to
dogs'! And she said ' Truth Lord : Yet the dogs
eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters
table'
Then Jesus answered and said unto her, 'O
woman, great is thy faith;be it unto thee even
as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole
from that hour.
If the incident was reported correctly, It shows
Jesus lacked love and mercy, degraded
discrimination in regard to the uplifting of his
tribe and not for the others, tribal pride of
descendants and prejudice against others and
calling them dogs, engaging in a debate with
an ignorant polytheist woman and she won him
over.
Even the Prophet Isa (Jesus) in the Quran is far
above this traits.
These claims above shows a human being,
although powerful with God's spirit, sent as a
messenger to his people just as other prophets
have been sent to their people.
Am I to assume that this story is false and consequently some other stories in the Bible?
I need explanations on this.
P.b I know the Bible and Koran were inspired divinely, I am generally skeptical about some things in them due to improper translation in the proper context or compilation adulteration.
I don't see the problem and fascination with These verses. It is a non issue really and much ado about nothing if you truly understand what metaphors mean. there is nothing complicated about those verses.. There are numerous examples in the bible where jesus used metaphors to convey messages. Only those that could HEAR understood him..

Jesus didn't disrespect or insult the woman or anyone..Going by your argument one could also say Jesus disrespected the Israelites because he referred to them as a" sheep".. Now Anyone who has spent time with a Sheep know that they are one of the most stupidest animal alive. No? But you and I know he wasn't referring to the Israelites as stupid..

The keywords that explains the whole passage are " lost sheep" and " faith"..

israelites will be west africans and their offshoots all over the world which will be
1-haitians
2-brazillianso
3-african americans
4- native americans and hispanics ( they were black people called the olmecs who travelled to the americas in the 800 bc after the assyrian captivity who got co-mingled with moabites ( chinese ) from bering strait.
5-south africa is also a migratory route of the israelites when they got kicked out of israel and hence we have the levite tribes from the lemba people in south africa and other parts of africa.
ok your last sentence on other parts of Africa settled it so we good ...

You had said the blacks in America are part of the real jews and since most if not all the slaves came from west Africa as you rightly pointed out, I thought you was alluding to west Africans and the slaves offshoot being the ONLY Israelites.. you are right in that not all black people are jews. there are two kinds of black people. the hamitic and the shemitic black people. only the shemitic black people are jews. the hamitic black people will be the somalians, ethiopians, fulanis, hausas, erritreans ( they are easily recognizable and have a different spirit ). My fascination with jews and blacks ? brother that is the secret and the key to this world as we know it. the people who are supposed to be the spiritual guide to the whole world are in darkness and as such the world is in darkness. that is why the world has been converted to hell ( romans 11 vs 11 ) ( job 9 vs 24 ) ( revelation 6 vs 4 ). the whole rulership of the world is upside down ( ecclesiastes 10 vs 6 and 7 ). the spiritual guides of the world are in the valley of dry bones ( ezekiel 37 ). they are spiritually dead. walking zombies. however this is by design. the situation will be reversed. however if you are a deep thinking man, your sanity is incumbent on knowing why things are the way they are. the what how when and why. its just that simple.

Religion / Re: Great Nairaland Bible Teachers How Do You Interpret These 2 Verses by nyameke: 12:27am On Jun 30, 2012
buzugee: an insightful retort. grin

well here is my take on it. what is a mans protection ? God. if a man is without God, he is n-aked. Now there are deliberate attempts made by some diabolical people in this world to make a person n-aked so they can laugh and be amused at their na-kedness. a good example will be what is happening to the black community in america. everything that is happening to the black community in america is by design. the community is pumped full of liquor stores, drugs, guns, and diseases by the 'powers that be' so as to keep these people n-aked and then the 'powers that be' can gawk in amazement at their unclothedness. this is done by design because the blacks in america are part of the real jews who were fulfilling the deuteronomy 28 vs 68 prophesy when they were put on cargo slave ships and sold as slaves in america. so basically the intention here is to keep them stupid and dumb so that they dont wake up to the fact that they are the real jews. this is done by all the things i mentioned and with the media. rap music culture is a way of also keeping them na-ked. its all a conspiracy to keep the real jews away from their heritage by keeping them away from their protection, God ( hence making them n-aked ). so by feeding them all those things, they are putting a bottle to them so they can be drunk and na-ked and look at their n-akedness

cheesy lol I didn't think it was a retort but ( whateva in my new York accent )..

Btw your take is another angle and perspective on an insightful quote... Oh and why your fascination with Jews and blacks..Do you realise that not all blacks are Jews?

Religion / Re: Great Nairaland Bible Teachers How Do You Interpret These 2 Verses by nyameke: 10:29pm On Jun 29, 2012
There is a one or two explanations for the revelations verse you quoted and you and I have gone back and forth with on another thread a while back so I will leave that alone..

Now I have really not thought about your second quote but I will give my perspective on it based on how I understand certain things.."
Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their unclothedness!"
Literally it means what it says but I think there is a deeper meaning to this verse when you break it down to its essence. Why? Well the secret to the real meaning of that quote would lie in the word "unclothedness"
The first meaning people would associate with that word is nudeness or having no clothing on, but.t naked etc ..

But that word could also mean a lot of things..If I tell you buzugee my most innermost fears, dreams and my most guarded secrets, now that's true unclothedness because I have laid bare and open up my soul to you..It makes one vulnerable and powerless.

Now imagine you using deceptive means to get to rhat part of me (barest part of my soul) without me willingly telling you my most guarded secrets and fears.. That's foul play

So the essence of that quote is woe onto those who uses act of deceptions to get to that unclothedness of others..

Let me also add that literally it doesn't make sense to get your neighbor drunk just so you can gaze at their naked body. That would be an act of gayism provided your neighbor happens to be another man.. And if it was a warning to gayism I believe the scriptures would have been more specific and used the word "man" instead of "neighbor " , because your neighbor could be a male or female..

To conclude I guess those who would go with the literal meaning would have their reasons but I choose to go with it essence. Let see what others have to say

My brother, "giants" in KJV and "Nephilim" in Niv means same thing. It is NOT referring to "human size" BUT "fallen ones" as in nature. Will you consider this also?

The conception of Mary is not by angels who are also spirits BUT by the member of the Godhead. They are two different things.
bullshit the fallen ones described as giants does not mean " fallen ones" = giants lol.

“You are mistaken, not understanding the Scriptures, or the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven” (Matthew 22:29-30).
I see Frosbel and others quoting this bible passage..

People are told that here our Lord jesus said that angels are sexless, but is this really true? Jesus compared men in heaven to angels in heaven. Neither men nor angels are said to be sexless in heaven but we are told that in heaven there will be no marriage.. I don't see where no marriage should mean sexless..

And also your rants about been impossible for spirit beings to mate with humans, I have one question for you.. Can you in your wisdom tell me how the conception of Jesus came about? I'm waiting.
